I think draw dubs is a good idea. keeping it OMB vs. YGB is always fun.

as for the TD question (Frank), I have just been organizing it because it goes smoother that way. If anyone has a problem with me running it, then I'll step down. If we're going to do payout and an ace pot, then SOMEBODY has to be TD...

Move up Diedre :D Nice comeback win apparently...only one in the 70's that round

Isnt it nice to drive away knowing you kicked your divisions ACE!!! :DSome of you other scrubs will just have to take our word for it  :DI got my wife 2 play a couple of rounds this weekend!! I am going to see if she will come out and play Thurs.. but It is kinda far for her... Shes not bad.. I have no light discs..All max weight stuff mostly, so she had to deal with that.. I gave her a Roc, stratus, Viking.. She was flipping the Roc and stratus!! HA she has a nice little "s" going with the Viking.. In a couple of weeks she will be able to kick Franks arssk :D

Jul 27 2004, 02:06 PM
actually, she was leading after the second round. That was the round where she was the only FW3 in the 70's. By the end of the 3rd round, she was up by 5 strokes, enough to hold off her competition through the end. Another girl shot very well in the last round at the Lake course, but Deidre still held on to the lead. I could be wrong, but I believe she carded her first birdie in a PDGA event. Way to go hun :)

Anyway, I'm not at all tired of playing with Adam. I just think that some variety is a good thing. For some reason, Frank and Gary play very well together, but split them up and we take em out easily :). Draw dubs this week. Long pads on at least 7 of the 9 holes at the Colony course. Anyone who wants to join me out there tonight to lay out the pro pads (and play a couple rounds) is welcome, I'll be there about 6:30.

heh yeah they did :)

BTW, for the record... I shot a 58 the first round on the city hall course, but our card got stroked 2 strokes b/c the guy with the card didn't read it correctly, and we played 1 hole out of order. That *would* have been a 918 rated round, and really would have helped out my rating. It also *would* have tied marsha's personal best on that course. And I was playing it blind! You know I rubbed that one in ;) Of course I didn't finish as well as I started... but that's just how it goes for me in tourneys :(

In case anyone has not figured out good directions, here are a few suggestions:

All areas
Once you get to the Colony, you'll go N on Morningstar till it ends at N Colony. Then Turn right, go about a block to Northpointe, turn L. Bill Allen Memorial Park will be on your right-hand side, a couple blocks down Northpointe at Carroll. Turn R on Carroll, and the parking lot by hole 1 is on your Left. not much parking there b/c of a big dumpster they're using for some park renovations. I hope those aren't going to get in the way of the DG course :(

To get to The Colony:

From Addison area
take the tollway N to the Spring Creek exit, turn L on Spring Creek. Then L on 121. R on Morningstar

From Lewisville / Grapevine
take 121 N (really NW) all the way thru the Colony to Morningstar. Turn L on Morningstar.

From Carrollton
Take Josey Ln N to 121, turn R on 121, then L on Morningstar

From McKinney / Allen
Take 121 S thru Plano to the Colony. Turn R on Morningstar.

it's all pretty simple, but just in case some of you OMBs needed specific directions, there ya go. Or just learn how to use mapquest.com :)

You wanna rub something in? Try this.

When someone on my card doesn't know where to go, I take a look at the ORDER THE HOLES ARE IN ON THE CARD. Coulda, shoulda, woulda, rated this, nearly did that, woulda tied Mark...yada, yada, yada.

Anytime, anywhere, bring your shirt. :)

(One would've thought he'd learned his lesson by now. Oh well, some people are a little slower than others. I would print, "At least I'm beating Josh Dann" shirts but its such a forgone conclusion for most of us, that the market would be minimal.)

I wasn't blaming you, mark... I was simply pointing out that it happened. I shot a 58 my very first time seeing the course, which ties your personal best on that course... who knows how many times you had to play it beore you finally got a 58 :). Also, I DID tell the guy who had the card to check the order on the card. I asked him to do so right before we played the wrong hole. I don't know if he actually looked at the card or not, so maybe I shouldn't have trusted him and checked the thing myself. Regardless, I'm not blaming the TD for following the rules. I'm not blaming anyone for anything, except YOU for never shooting a better round than my FIRST TRY at that course ;)

Jul 27 2004, 04:33 PM
Josh, Josh, Josh. Do you not know who you're smacking with here?

Someone wake him, before he pulls a muscle. What you type can and will be used against you. :)

Example:

b/c the guy with the card didn't read it correctly, and we played 1 hole out of order.

CLEARLY, you are laying blame squarely at the feet of someone else for something that you could've easily prevented. I know you weren't blaming me, but don't get on a smack thread and say you weren't blaming "anyone" when you clearly were.

Second, what is this "best ever 58" you keep refering too? Go check my ZT10 Live Oak scores, pal (BTW, its the LOWER of the two scores). That's right, I just "pal'd" you.

Anytime, any course. Even one where you could use your big 500' arm *cough* against me. :)

Coming soon to a t-shirt shop near you, the fashion statement of the summer:

"I don't care how I play,
As long as I don't break my leg
and lose my throwing arm, I'm
still gonna beat Dann"

baldguy
Jul 27 2004, 04:51 PM
ahhhh hmmm... the "best ever 58" came from YOU. I asked what your best score was, you said "58". Bring that schmack along with that weenie arm of yours to the Dallas ZT10. I'll even wager another bet. plus, neither of us have played either of these courses... so it'll be a level playing field.

also, yeah maybe i did blame somebody a little bit, but it wasn't you. I'm not sure why you're getting so defensive over somebody ELSE screwing up... but the fact is that I did ask if it was correct or not, and the only person with any form of reference said it was correct. I also don't know why you're so hung up on this issue. it's over and done with... it's old news. I don't care that you stroked my card, I never once said you shouldn't have. of course I hoped you wouldn't, but rules are rules. if it's a mandatory 2 strokes, then so be it.

oh, and I checked your liveoak zt10 scores. your score was lower on the "MiMa" course... that must mean that the MiMa was the CH course and the PaPa was the lake course? why did everyone shoot so much better on the CH course (the harder of the two - especially since Chris did not use the island hole)? Or is your OMB brain failing you again? which was PaPa and which was MiMa? were all the holes the same? If so, why did you tell me your best was 58? too old to remember?

Jul 27 2004, 05:03 PM
Huh?

I'm not being defensive and for the second time, I know you weren't blaming me. I was just pointing out that you were coulda shoulda woulda-ing me to death on it. :) When you type, I type in return, especially if you think you can smack with the master.

As for the 58 thing, can't remember. Maybe I did say that and maybe I was confused, hard to say. Even with an aging brain, I still smoke you. Feel better? :)

i thought we were doing draw doubles?? if we are playing for money the we should all be drawing from the same deck, OMB young andrew or what ever.
so if this course gets bad after a rain are we going to think about moving to a course that drains and plays better after bad weather.

okcacehole
Jul 28 2004, 11:59 AM
I believe we are doing DRAW, but still want to keep the oldies against the young-talented golfers if we can. I think the Colony will be okay rain or not. The only water hole out there right now is on #4. The rest of the places that water usually gathers are completely dry. Made the shot on #9 MUCH easier

Jul 28 2004, 12:16 PM
First round at Veteran's i shot +5 and the second round, since I knew the course a little better i shot a +3

The colony gets really bad if it gets alot of pouring rain, like nonstop rain! But its been a while since we had rain soo, it might take it a little bit to even get muddy!

The long #1 is across the sidewalk next to the parking lot.

#3 is at the sidewalk and to the left of the treeline from the tee.
#4 is just back a little from the tee
#5 too the left and back from the tee
#6 by the street 150' or so back from the tee
#7 right by #5 long
#8 back almost to the corner
Where is #9 long tee?

baldguy
Jul 28 2004, 12:52 PM
the colony course is 15 minutes from Greenbelt. If you can make it to carrollton, you can make it to the colony. It is even closer for some folks (Pebbles, ReddMan, Andrea, Ray, etc). Plus, the longs (6 of the 9 holes now have long tees marked) do make this more of a true par 27 9-hole, rather than the par 23 or so that it plays from the shorts... We can play one round from the longs, one from the shorts or just 2 from the longs. With an ace pot getting started, it definitely makes it worth the trip.

With as dry as the course is now, and with the creek that runs next to it, it should handle a little rain pretty easily. Draw Dubs, $5 a head. $2 ace, $3 payout. winner takes all, acepot carries over. OMBs draw from one pile, YGBs draw from another... Sound good to everyone?

#3 is across the sidewalk to the left of the tee and back a few feet.
#4 is across the sidewalk from the original tee and back about 40-60'
#5 no long tee b/c there's no good way to make this hole harder without interfering with other holes. it is already a good par 3.
#6 by the street 120' or so back and to the right a little from the tee
#7 back and to the right of the original tee, across the ditch, near #5's teebox for an uphill anhyzer
#8 needs no modification - good par 3

That's close to the long holes that we played for the winter wed. night golf. The local pro, KT, showed us alternates for all holes except #9, #9,#9, #9...

#8 can be moved back to make it a tough 3 and #5 can be put close to the alt #7 to make it a little different. Maybe KT can make it out for a round of Smack Talk Dubs

What hole was it on, I'll go take a look today if I can.

Hole 7... I threw the white valk up the gut.. I didn't get it all the way turned over and it clipped a branch on the right side of the tree that sits on the left side of the gap /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif if that makes sense.. After it hit the tree it turned a little to the left and gone... It could be in the mess behind the tree or it could be to the right of the tree where the mowed grass is..

Also, its sunny here, with like no real sign of rain anytime soon, for forecast actually changed now its only 30% chance of rain for McKinney

Don't you usually have to shoot -12 or better out there to cash?

Last year I got paired with a newbie and shot a -12 myself and still was only last place cash

Jul 28 2004, 05:42 PM
You have to shoot -13 all shorts to cash and atleast -7 to cash in all longs! Me and brian blew it away couple weeks ago with a -11 from all longs the next closes score was -7
Lata im headin out to mckinney already to get a round in before the tourny!!

Why Disc Golf ?
Disc Golf, originally called Frisbee Golf, is a great sport that can be enjoyed year round by people of all ages and abilities. It combines the fun of Frisbee, with the strategy and scoring of Golf. The result is a recreational sport that just about anyone can play year round. Disc Golf courses are located in parks across the country and are usually free to play. Inexpensive equipment costs allow you to get started for as little as $10.

Like many of you, I was born with a birth defect, which presented many challenges to me while growing up. I had a condition known as PFFD where my left leg was significantly shorter than my right. I was able to get around well by wearing a below the knee prosthesis and played Little League Baseball, I could ice skate, ride a bicycle, and do just about anything that I set my sights on.
In High School, I took up Wrestling where I was Co-captain of the State Championship Team, and Conference Champion at 135Lbs. at R.L.Turner High School in 1976. I went on to Wrestle in College and finished 3rd in the State Tournament as a freshman.
In 1984 it all changed for me. As a result of an accident on the job, I became an above the knee amputee and had to learn to walk all over again. As an adult, it seemed that it was much more difficult to adapt, and due to limited mobility I found that I simply couldnt do some of the things that I could before my accident.
A friend introduced me to Disc Golf to "get me out of the house" and Ive been playing ever since. Being involved in a sport motivated me to exercise and walk over a mile per game, where previously just walking to my corner mailbox was a task. Soon I was getting around almost as well as I did before my accident and began competing, and helped to organize tournaments and fundraisers throughout Texas.
The broad appeal and rehabilitative qualities of the sport led me to work with groups like Special Olympics, Texas Scottish Rite Hospital, and P.O.I.N.T. as well as the Boy Scouts, Boys and Girls Clubs, and numerous public schools and churches. In 1997 our organization donated 3 Disc Golf baskets to the James F. Chambers Youth Fitness Park, located at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas. Disc Golf has been a popular part of The Recreational Therapy program at Texas Scottish Rite ever since.

I hope that you enjoy the Disc Golf experience as much as I have, and wish you well in pursuit of your dreams and goals, whatever they may be.

Well I thought that Frankie-poo and his "partner"(AKA S.O.) were coming out to the Vet to try and beat Kid-Roc and myself, but looking at his posts I see that he and his"partner" have pussed out. My time is far to precious to be driving to BFE after I have already put in my 30 minutes worth of work at my job so I have some incentive for Senoir Wrinkle Arse and his significant other....or "partner" if that is what they prefer.....$40 to the winning team, plus the bonus of unlimited shiat talking about the opponent. SO.............FRANKIE??????????

BTW... I have the utmost respect for Gary Duke and hated having to belittle him so far in this post :D

I see he thought better of the reply he's been pondering for the last 10 minutes.

Hey punk, nobody's a bigger smack talker on here than me, but with abbreviations, a decent vocabulary and taking advantage of the board's bleeps from the built in language blocker, rather than circumventing it by using a s pace, I still come off as not being as vulgar as that crap you just posted.

Drive that Jeep of yours down to Wal-Mart and buy a box of class.

Jul 29 2004, 06:49 PM
I never said anything about wanting to play pro, you knucklehead.

And I'm a cashing Advanced player, not a wannabe.

Watch yourself and conduct yourself with a little more class and less vulgarity when posting on the board. I mean it. Smiley intentionally omitted.

Jul 29 2004, 11:26 PM
Amen Frank, I've got plenty of reasons to slam my mom (as some of my good friends know) but you'd never hear me do it on here or anywhere else. Even with my dad, who there's a long history of problems with, you wouldn't ever hear me air them on the message board.

But that's not even the point.

I know its weird for me of all people to be railing against someone cussing (I'm no choirboy), but that was way outta line. Way, way outta line and more disgusting than I wanna read when I get on here, even for smack talk.

No doubt, Gary. An innocent and joking "dumb broad" comment that no one heard but her once landed me about 8' on the other side of the room.

never the less it was a great put for the win, good round even though you were stuck with the little punk.

Jay I did not make him say any thing about his mother.

I have six kids, out of all of them there is only one that would talk trash like that and he is now out of the family, none of us talk to him, Andrew do you want to be like that?? Your parents do many things in life for you and you should all ways be greatfull.
If I would have read that post before I left work yesterday I dont think I would have played with you.
I do believe that you owe ever one that reads this thread an apology or you will find that you are not welcome to play with us again.
As teenagers we all did dumb stuff but on a public forum,, that is not the place to show your ignorance.
I have all ways thought you were a good kid and a good golfer, so lets try and keep it that way..

Andrew look at this way, what if your Mom had read what you posted,, now how do you think she would have felt??

We are playing at the Lake course this weekend (sat-sun) at 8:30, if any one wants to join come on..

okcacehole
Jul 30 2004, 11:33 AM
I think Brian and I will make it out to the Lake...atleast we are planning on it...

Jul 30 2004, 01:17 PM
Frank...I am ALL over it!!!

Andrea:
First of all, you little ungrateful-liar. You know and I think everyone here knows, that you got it made. You are taking your parents for granted. What if they died tonight and you didn't get to say good-bye. Would you feel bad. You BETTER! You really oughta take a minute and thank them for putting up with YOUR crap. I moved back here to Dallas just to for the support of my mom. It's been me and her since day one. that's it. I didn't have it made like you did, nor did most of us. I had to work my butt off from the time I was 12 working at school with her and doing odd jobs to earn my own money and so on. I now visit with her at LEAST once a week. We hang out and go places and do stuff together more as friends than as "parent and kid". You really should be just a tad more grateful for what you got. Look around dude! Everyone goes through bad times, but yours really are just the tip of the iceberg.

If you need to vent, talk to a close friend or your girlfriend or whoever. But not on here. Im a good listener and I will normally give advice if needed. You need to CHILL OUT.

And that's all I have to say for now before I take up a whole page.

Deidre

:p

Yes...Yes...and Yess...alright now boys and girls back to the smack...not just on the kid...I think you will see I was the 1st one to jump him for those statements and we all understand that he shouldn't be talking like that. Teens make dumb choices...hopefully he realizes the error of his ways. Go take you mom to lunch...she would remember it forever

Jul 30 2004, 01:56 PM
Totally Agree Adam.....Bring it on!!! If we are playing Lake next week, considering EVERYONE can make it out....Im gonna play with or without you all. Oh and you all really should see Adam's freaky bird dance he does with his discs..you need to stand back about fifty feet before he does it. So basically step outside his putting range.

Have a good day guys! :)

okcacehole
Jul 30 2004, 02:02 PM
