we play from the regular.... gonna be 6 and 0....

I like the idea of throwin all long pads. Some of the alts at Porter are much shorter and easier (14 and 16 at least). On those holes, we play the normal pads. I think Smurf (or "smerf" if your last name is can't-park-er) listed them in that manner a couple pages back. Flags would be good, too. that way there is no confusion. First group through marks the teepad they played from, last group picks up the flags (so the mini people don't get confused). Hopefully the first group through knows which pads to play from... but if they screw up somehow, at least we all played the same tee.

BTW, I'm not sure if A-Z dubs is going to happen for me or not :( I want to play, but I didn't realize that the dates conflicted with the Dripping Springs TX10 event. Deidre has her heart set on playing that one, so I've either got to talk her out of it or skip A-Z. I would like to play the Food Drive final for free, too.... decisions, decisions.

Yeah Woody and I are starting to put together a decent team. Usually he covers me on putting. Yesterday, the shoe was on the other foot. If we can both putt in the same round... look out. That being said, we missed at least 7 birdie putts in the 30-50 range. Most of those can't even be blamed on the wind. In dubs, you should be at *least* 50% in that range. Oh well, we got to play some simply amazing DG holes and the OMBs earned their victory with consistently good play on holes nobody had ever seen before. Good to see MikeA on the course, too. Injured finger and all.

As for Murphy/Todd... They aren't that tough to beat :). Woody and I have beaten them a couple times now, I know Krell and I have beaten them at least 3 times... They have potential, but I don't consider them a threat with BALDWOOD on the course :D:D

strange... the D/D reason for always teaming up ogether is to work on their doubles game... they *do* know that alternating and tough shot is part of doubles, right? Are they just skeeeeeeered? :D

He's just saying that because we lost Sunday (to two other OMB teams) and had a very bad hole of tough shot. We did manage to make up a couple of strokes in those 6 tough shot holes even with our really bad first hole.

We were the ones pushing for tough shot. I'm not really into alternating for practice rounds, I think tough shot has alternating covered from a shot making point of view, and the scores are only useful if you are actually in competition.

ah, but the STD *is* an actual competition ;). I'd like to do something like what I posted above, or maybe 6 best, 6 alternating, 6 tough (6-6-6 format). I think it would be a better match of the teams than just 100% best-shot. Anyone else willing to give it a try?

One complaint for casual stuff is that not everyone gets to throw every hole in alternating to I would recommend either best disc (singles), or total score in addition to tough shot and best shot.

If we are playing hop-scotch, it should all be best shot.

The other complaint is that in flip or draw doubles the singles dependent formats are not fair for the beginner golfers. If you are using established teams that are procticing for PDGA competition, then all of this makes sense, if you are playing casually with random teams, it is not fair.

BBD give it up, caus i aint doin it,, you guys gonna start this junk I can find some thing else to do on thursday,, just think how hard it is for you guys to beat us in best shot and you might want to take back your statement.

Now Watts, don't be so hard on BBD. After all, what he's proposing is based on solid logic - if what you're doing isn't working (and 6-0 says it isn't /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif) ) then you should seek to make changes in hope of better results :D
