Frank - there is a white 171g CE JLS test run on ebay right now if you are still looking for a replacement.
On another note, this was on there also and had to be about the ugliest thing I have ever seen. If they gave that away as a trophy...I think I would hunt for DFL:

We know that our day for doubles is changing due to the time change. I figure we need something new to talk about for a few days. I propose a slightly new format. We all seem to enjoy playing doubles when we get together as it allows for good scores even though we still get the opportunity for a lot of smack talking. I suggest flip/draw doubles. Every week, we keep a running tally of our placement for the weekend. Award points for how many other teams each person beats even if your partner carried you. :D Maybe 1 or 5 points for every team you beat and tie. Keep a series going until the next time change. This gives us doubles with a singles series/league effect. Acepot: feed it $1 each week from each player. Non-regulars that show up for our big ( :p) acepot when it does get bigger can pay $5 into the pot.
Modifications? Thoughts? Suggestions? Maybe Josh would be willing to keep our series standings on his website.

When we played it this past weekend, the only basket that was moved was #7... they had the island about half-torn up, and the basket was on the teepad side of the ditch, just short of the island. It's not a good hole... IMHO, hole 7 is the signature hole at LL, and with the basket anywhere but on the island takes too much away from that course.

i may not drink in large quantity... but i have had nearly 200 different kinds of beer. and i can prove it :). I consider myself somewhat of a connoisseur. I prefer dark ales, and the grolsch amber is quite tasty. Usually, I'm not a big fan of lagers, but Grolsch's lager is one of the few I'd actually choose to drink. Sam Adams is a relatively poor example of a lager, but they also have a good dark ale. Grolsch is a very good beer in its own right. to call it horsepiss... well I guess ignorance is bliss :D

since we're talking beer... here are a few good ones and a few bad ones, IMO. Zeigenbock and Ziegenlight are not included, because they are #1 and #2 no matter how they taste.
The ****
*any* light beer (except for ZL, of course). Natural light is one of the worst unless it's really, really cold. it is literally the stuff that doesn't pass the test to become coors light.
Pabst blue ribbon just gross. really gross.
Milwaukee's Best commonly known as 'the beast'... I refuse to believe that this city couldn't do better :)
Pearl yeah, it's a TX beer and it's bad.
there are lots of other gross beers, and about 90% of them are domestics.
I can't really list my favorites, because it all depends on what mood I am in. Bass, Dos Equis (amber, not lager), Negra Modelo, Boddingtons (awesome beer), Fat Tire... all these are ales and very good. Old reliable is Shiner Bock. Gotta give props to the originator... apreciate zeigenbock's support, but they totally ripped off Shiner's proven taste :)... even their logo and their texas-only idea... but I digress
all you OMBs need to broaden your horizons a little bit and try something worth drinking for flavor and not just alcohol content. /smack

Josh,
My respect for your beer tastes just went up several notches  This OMB loves dark and brown ales. ;) New Castle is a little sweet for my tastes now a days, but its good. XX amber and Negra Modelo are the best from Mexico. Shiner has changed so much in the last five years I hardly recognize it anymore  Ziegen works :) Bocks aren't too bad. There are only a few really good lagers on the market. The best lagers are homebrewed.

come on now Bald guy, the best beers are the White beers. Blue moon made by Coors was great, specially out of a tap. Celis White and Rasberry are both good.
Blackend Vodoo is great.
I got my start on trying good beer with Shiner Bock, regular Shiner is not good.
Ziggy is ok, but tastes just like Lone Star Bock and Shiner Bock to me. (actually most Bocks taste the same)
I have never had a foreign beer I ever loved except a few of the Belgium Wheat Beers.
I don't drink much now, but you will never catch me drinking a Buttwiper or Miller or any other major brands for that matter.

Oh yea, I use to collect Micro Brew beer bottles, I have over 200+ of them and drank every one of them. I started doing then when Micro Brews were the thing. It is harder to find good ones now.
I use to also collect beer cans. I did not drink all of them, but then when did you ever have a good beer in a can. (beer can collection is over 1500+ 12oz cans pluss over 200 foreign and 200+ odd size cans.)
One last thing.
Anyone here have have BlueBonnet Beer made by Dallas Brewing Company???
How about Collin County Select made in Plano. (I even toured this brewery)
I have one I brought back from England for some of you guys.

yeah, a bock is a bock is a bock. The subtle differences go away a few days after it's brewed. One of the best beers I've ever had was Shiner bock right off the line in Shiner, TX. not sure what you mean by 'regular' shiner... there is basically just bock, blonde, hefeweissen, summer stock, winter ale... maybe one I'm forgetting, but i think that's it. Shiner blonde used to be called shiner premium, and before that it was called shiner texas export... even though it was never 'exported' to anywhere but texas. maybe that's what you're talking about?
anyway, blackened voodoo is a decent beer, and celis white is awesome. I also collect beer bottles, but I'm only 25, so my collection isn't as extensive as yours :) I've got about 175 different beer bottles, all of which I drank. many are just different versions of the same brand's bottle, so there are probably only about 140 or so unique beers in that collection.
where do you keep all your bottles and cans? I've got less than 200, and I don't have room for all of them

A group of us played Audobon on Saturday morning (11am) and then went to Humperdinks for lunch and then to GB. All the pads are finalized and look good. Sunday was relax and take care of other business day.
Funny how you all got on this beer collection talk. I also used to have almost 250 different beers in my collection and moved them from one house to the other. There wasn't any room at the next house, so they were put onto a list and the bottles trashed.
Try Lambics, Trapist Monk's beer and just about any Sam Adams flavor ever made. Stay away from the Sam Adams Triple Bock though - tastes like a stale steak sauce and is about $12.00 for a small 10oz bottle.

This target is solid steel covered with black enamel finish. The chains appear to be crome finished. Works great with mini discs. I have used it sparingly when vending our ministry discs at conventions. It has a number plate on top with a #1 on it. Great gift idea for the Disc Golfers office. Target stands 29 inches tall and the basket is approx. 12 inches in diameter. All parts are threaded and when apart there are five pieces.

Well, I'm not Mark, but I'll answer anyway, just because I can. :p The Frisco Parks Board meeting for November was held earlier tonight (which I just found out ) It is normally the 2nd Thursday each month, but with Veterans' Day falling on this Thursday, they moved it up. For December, the meeting should be on the 9th, but I will verify that and repost any differences here.
I hope I was an acceptable "Mark" substitute. :D If not... well then..... YOU SUCK!

has there been any discussion on who will design the course? perhaps someone should put the idea in their heads that a world-class course with world-class equipment and landscaping will bring world-class events. like worlds. :D
a good course designer doesn't charge too much, especially if you make their job easy. I think it would behoove Frisco and the DG community for whomever is spearheading this project to really push for a nice course... not just another place to practice.

I've already started a dialog with John Houck, and the city of Frisco Parks department is aware of him and his reputation. And you are correct about the price... he is quite reasonable for what he delivers.
My only concern with this particular piece of land is, it's not one I would have picked, seeing some of the other parcels Frisco has available for future park development. It will probably end up being similar to the Denton course, in that there is a lot of wide open space, and a fair amount of tightly wooded area... it would, of course, depend largely on what Mr. Houck could fashion out of it.
baldguy
Nov 10 2004, 04:16 PM
any chance the city will spring for a few decent-sized trees to be transplanted? It can be expensive, but it would probably be more valuable to the course than sculpted (wide-open) fairways
bambam
Nov 11 2004, 12:50 AM
I'm not sure... I do believe they have $30,000 allocated for the DG course, which will more than cover the cost of Houck's design, along with concrete pads, tee signs, and top-notch baskets. There should be at least $10,000 left over, which we might convince them to spend on a few well-placed trees.

Darn, I'm going to miss all the fun in seeing Frank get cold like the Lewisville Opener this year. :o How many of the rest of you remember him showing up sleeveless and in shorts? :D He was freakin' cold!
Good luck to all you STDers this weekend. Wish I could be out there with you. One of you better bring home the victory! Don't forget to mention "Smack Talk Doubles" when your name is called out in the awards ceremony a la Carrollton Open. You know, we could have a really good Smack Talk season if someone hits #3 (no, not at LLWoods Pinkie ). Seriously, one of us deserves to hit it! Birdies to all.

Forgot to give props to both the YGB and OMB's.
Ray hit the 2nd closest CTP for $200 with his Stratus and Dieder hit the 3rd closest CTP for $100 with his Buzz during the ace run shoot-off.

i'm not sure of this but i think ryan and jack may have accepted cash in pro master. if they did i'm behind them 100 % i'm thinking of doing the same in 05.

Ryan did place, but Jack didn't. He was only receiving bonus payout.
Come on up to Pro Masters Frank. You can have Greywolf, Mitch Mac, DJ, Silent Ray and the rest take your money from you.
Brian and I are going to get whooped on for a bit in Advanced next year until we get our games together. Circle 6 at LL is still bugging me, but thank goodness I birdied #13. Overshot the hole
Frank Dorsett is the greatest disc golfer in the world. His unique style is a mixture of Climo, Schultz and Schweberger and his class on the course is unparalled. He is now and has always been my disc golf idol. I hope that someday I can be half the golfer he is.
He's also probably the best looking golfer in the game.

But if your rating is low enough, it doesn't matter next year anyway.

mine was a 155 which is about average for me. I tested at 161 when I was 4 years old... therefore putting me ahead in school and not able to drive till late in my senior year :mad:but I digress...
Of course, the IQ tests don't mean a whole lot, but neither do DG scores, and we sure do spend alot of time arguing about those :D
