The HTML that embeds a sound in a web page isn't exactly a new invention. With so many web sites out there these days (and the past 10 years), you never know what you'll run across. If you're at work browsing the web, perhaps the prudent thing to do would be to either mute your sound output completely, or at least turn it way down or use headphones. It's unfair to blame Mr. Duke or Mr. Murphy for the volume of your speakers. You knew your computer had the ability to produce sound before this occurance.

ANYWAY...

Tonight i was doing yard work and went inside afterwards for a bit.... went out to close the garage at about 9:00.... someone had decided to get into my truck and steal the radio. I was [*****]. I couldn't think of anything else they took until about 30 minutes ago when i realized that my golf discs were in there. They are all gone. ALL of them. My bag, my extra box, everything. About 60 discs in all, about 10 of them old-school CE. I'm guessing about $1000 worth of plastic if I were to replace it all with new ones. Lots of them were new. Not to mention the stereo.

So, if anyone has any plastic they wanna donate or sell to me cheap, I'd really appreciate it. I know u all are hording plastic for some reason :). In case anyone wants to know what I throw:

yeah i did call the PIAS today but I'm not sure if he was just in a hurry or didn't really care... anyway I have good news. I did lose my bag and its contents (including my first ace disc), but thank the DG gods, my extra stash was in Deidre's car. We put them in there as trading bait to try and find her a couple new discs! that box is *always* in my truck. the one time it isn't, someone breaks in. So I'm not hurting quite as bad as I thought.... still have backup plastic as well as that new bag i bought from smurph. it's not the good stuff, but it throws.

Claydog is the man. hands down. I can't accept his offer in light of my lucky discovery, but he is the man. Maybe the ADGA isn't so bad after all :) I still have my doubts about OMBs though....

#12 cement was sticking 12" out of the ground. The cement is only 24" deep so it was about to fall over. The reason for moving it over was to get it out of that hole. (read the Carrollton Disc Golf thread under tournaments)

I plan on moving #7 at Greenbelt at least 10-20 foot back away from the erosion on the creek. I also want to straighten up #5 and #14. The only tee sign I noticed needed replacing at Greenbelt was #1.

Its been a while that i have even been able to get out and throw a disc anymore...
I made a big commitment tonight, I signed for a 4 year enlistment in the U.S. Marines.
Thats definetly a big deal to me.......Life changing decision I think!!
I'm tryin to play as much as I can before I leave for San Deigo, California where the Basic Training is at around July 27.

Darkness was falling, and the YGBs conceded after everyone drove 18 and they were out.

They did come back to tie it up on 15 after the OMBs failed to take advantage of Claydog's great drive on 14 (within 25'), and they birdied 13 and 15. The OMBs parked 16 and 17 for a 2 stroke lead going into 18.

16 & 17 were pretty bad, 18 was dark. You had trouble tracking the disc after you threw it, and by the time we found all the discs, a flashlight was needed to see the basket for putts.

We're staying in town and most likely playing the food drive event. This is Keith's last weekend in DFW for awhile, so we gotta hang with him tonight. Can't make the trip to Live Oak.

I got a few reasons for playing the new course:
1.) new course
2.) it's Disc Golf
3.) it helps me qualify for the Food Drive final
4.) I love being among the first to play a course. Hell, I even played CH before Frank did :D Of course they went and changed a bunch of the holes after that...

Anyway, tomorrow is almost certain for Food Drive for me and Deidre. Maybe some cards tonight? Keith's last chance to play with us before he moves off.... Murphy, Taad, you guys in?

I had a blast yesterday playing the new course. When it goes in and steve gets those holes cleared out more, it is going to be a monster.

I was driving OK yesterday, but only really made 3 or 4 putts outside of 15ft. I missed about 5 from 20ft in dangit. :(

Well, I was catching up to Frank, and had to leave before I beat him. It would be bad for his ego for me to whup up on him and he needs his confidence to play well on Thursdays.

I had cut his lead in half in 7 holes and was closing in before I left. That was with a 20' birdie miss playing across the pond (over the trees). I didn't event get a second chance at those holes.

I did suck it up this weekend but I got to play a sweet course unlike any other I've seen in TX. I managed to take an easy 3 on hole 6 and was damned proud of it. Everything else sucked but I took a 3 on what was arguably the toughest hole on the course. Anyway, I stand behind what I said about learning new discs. Yeah, it's an excuse but it's true. Especially on a course where most holes require a well-placed midrange shot. If I don't know the disc well, I can't place it. Apparently Frank says he can throw just as well with any random assortment of plastic as he can with his own stuff. I think we should put that to the test on Thursday :D. Back up your smack Frank. Trade discs with me :)

World Doubles was just a bit more expensive. $50.00 a person for a C-Tier in Advanced. That's not too bad.

WD's was 160 a team,, so last weekend you paid 30 for one day, this is two days for 50 and on two of the best courses in DFW. And dukie is even considering changing his plans to attend,, sounds like you are the CHICKEN now :D

Wow, I didn't realize I had any talent in smack talk. ( I had to leave work right after the post and just saw all the response.) Yes, I have seen Pat play, and he can beat both Don and Clay when his game is on. I've seen Clay play. And, well, his name came up in a little discussion the other ladies and I were having the other day. One of them asked, "I thought he used to play pro?" I commented, "he used to play advanced until he moved to the omb division, but I think he's ready to go pro now." Another answered, "he could always bomb it a long ways, but just got the direction and consistency under control within the last couple years." We all nodded and said "ummm" with visions of long driven birdies flying in our heads.
Oh, and Pat is correct, Don doesn't post anything unless I turn the computer on, sign on, and type it for him. He's a little bit electronically challenged, but I still love him.

couple years??? how about the last six months! :D his biggest distance increase was between october last year and about february this year. and his accuracy is pretty darn good to go along with it. claydog is tough these days. don is also, he's been very consistant over the winter and early spring. between the three of us we could give any OMB serious trouble. i'm probably the weakest of the three at the moment, although i have seen some indications that my slump is easing a bit. working on some corrections to my drive mechanics will help in the long run, but it is playing havoc with my consistency for now. i've worked on my upshots, and i can putt, thats what keeping me remotely competitive this spring.

I'd still be an OMB but I had to go and mess everything up in 2003. :D:o:D

I was very surprised by Clay's play at World Doubles this year. Last year he wasn't the longest off the tee very often, this year he was outdriving the rest of the card by 50' consistently. And he can putt.

Now if I could get my putting to come back I might give him a run, or if he has to carry Pat around for 2 days. :cool:

pinkie, yes you took a bunch of points from me that day. and i still havent gotten the disc you promised me for it!!! lets face it... i played average or slightly below average that day. against me you took a 3 on Beaver 1, then followed it up with a pair of dueces on 2 & 3. you were OB in a tree about 40' feet up on 4, but maceman thinks that a shot like that is just as good as one on the ground, so you took a 3. 2 down after the first 4 holes on the Beav! you were the smoker and my [*****] was the cigar.

regardless, i think claydog and i make a fairly formidable team in MM1. certainly we could be beat. a Tabor/Duke team probably would have the best chance. , but lots of combinations could do it on the proverbial given day. your job is to find a partner and hope like he!! that you're playing us on that day!
