BTW, where is next week? McKinney? Denton? McKinney should be reachable by 6:30 for everyone, and even mob golf plays fast at that little course. Denton is a fun course too, but if it hasn't been mowed... some say worse than Audobon. plus it will play slower with 8+ people. The Colony would only be fun if we did something like only play with Putters, or make new tees for 8 of the 9 holes. we *could* play hopscotch there for 9 holes, then play the regular 9. That would make a good mix of holes. something like:

frank, if I've really ****** you off, then I apologize. If that truly is the case, then the only reason I didn't quit is because I thought you were still having fun with it. Maybe it would be better to let me know it next time so that I don't cross the line. I'll be sure to do the same thing. Anyway, I think I can be there about 8:00, not sure if Deidre will come along. Tomorrow is her birthday, and we're having some family over at about 3:00. She may have some preperation to do, but I think I can be there.

Anyway, yes, Adam and I lost again and that's mostly if not purely my fault. I missed putts (that would have stuck on better baskets) on 4 of the last 5 holes. I also shanked most of my drives. My partner did his part, but I was only about 25% there... so if you guys wanna keep it going, then by all means, let's keep it going. AM/JD vs FD/GD is at 2-1 now, however I believe overall OMB vs YGB is tied at 2-2. If we wanna take it to McKinney next week, I'm game. I can be there by about 6:00 (barring work or natural disaster). Same thing for Denton, although I think McKinney is a better idea since everyone can be there by 6:30, even Pebbles. The Colony is about the same situation, maybe even better although it's not nearly the course that McKinney is.

You let him get into your head, then let him know he was successful. The full intent of all the talk is to get into the other players head enough to effect their game.

The objective is not to agravate, What happened to you saturday is not much different than what happens in any OMB during most any round. You have to learn to ignore it and play it back at him. I know you were having a bad round, and the harder you tried to shut him up, the worse it got. You have to relax and let the game come through all the BS.

It was all in fun, he was just a little slow to pick up on how much it was getting to you. No Harm, No foul.

The bad part is once they smell blood, they attack that much harder the next time. You learn to play in this group and keep your head and you can play anywhere.

gary you old fart, it's settled. no need to rehash. besides, it was Thursday, not Saturday. Check your medication box, see how the little compartment marked "F" is the one you took today? That stands for Friday. Tomorrow is Saturday. If you really wanted to mediate, you missed a golden opportunity yesterday (Thursday). Now get some sleep and come play tomorrow (Saturday).

I didn't realize you were playing Audobon, I thought everyone was out at McKinney. We played out there (all longs) and Gary and I partnered up for another losing opportunity :). We started with a birdie on 1 (shoulda been there, Frank, I parked it... i think about 400'? dunno I didn't read the post), and we finished pretty strong, but the other teams were more consistent. I did get a black ace though :) Hole 10's long box to hole 9's basket... roller went awry... i think I'm down about $35 for that one. :D

Andrew: word of advice... Just because you play one course all the time and shoot well at that course doesn't mean much. Start playing more courses and kicking arse all over, then you can brag. You're coming along very well, but keep in mind that some people progress quickly, and some slowly. I know a certain golfer who won Am Worlds after playing about the same time as you have been. If you're gonna brag, take your game to Worlds and prove yourself. Maybe take a note from some of the other younger golfers (like Matt Hall) who consistently kick arse in MA1, in spite of being what, 15? I don't think Mr. Hall has turned 16 yet... but you won't hear him bragging about anything. you'll just watch him play from the card ahead of you

Anyway, start coming to our travelling STD and help us stomp on the true OMBs. you've got game for sure... but be ready to be humbled by a few older guys who have game AND experience. I hat to give OMBs dubs, as they are my sworn enemies... but some of them even throw well from behind their walkers :D

so far, we have 2 votes for modified 1-disc at the colony. If more people will get on board fo this format, then we will give it a try. I'm calling it "3-disc Doubles." The proposed format details are:

3-disc doubles
best shot (scramble rules)
each team must select 1 midrange, 1 putter and 1 driver

<u>Disc Commitment Rules</u>:
for the first round of 9, one team member will commit to the putter, with his teammate committing to the midrange. All shots by each team member must be with his committed disc, unless substituted for the driver. See driver rules below.

For the second round of 9, the teammates will trade discs and follow the "disc commitment" rules above.

<u>Tie-breaker rules</u>
If,after 18 holes, there is a tie: teammates can choose to keep the committed disc from the last round, or trade again. Any teams in a tie will play off sudden-death style, without use of the substitute driver.

<u>Substitute Driver Rules</u>:
the driver may be substituted on a per-hole basis, and must be substituted before the hole is started. This driver can be substituted for only one teammate per hole, and after the completion of that hole, it must be swapped back for the teammate's original committed disc. The same team member cannot use the substitute driver two holes in a row. If one team member chooses to use the driver, his committed disc may not be used by either team member; the other must use his own committed disc.



Sorry if this sounds very formal and complicated, but I tried to be specific so that there would be no confusion. This format is only "proposed" at this point, but I think it could be fun. If we try this format and like it, I might use it later this year in a mini, possibly even in an X-tier next year. I think it will work well for shorter courses, and may even work well on long courses. It forces more strategy and careful play than you find in normal best-disc doubles. It also allows for more flexibility than 1-disc or the 2-disc format I was working on.

If I can solidify this format and use it in a tournament, it may lead to things such as manufacturer-sponsored events (like the 1-disc ace race that Discraft did last year) where a sponsor donates (or I give as a player's package) 1 driver, 1 midrange, and 1 putter per team. sponsors tend to be more generous if they know for sure that their products will be used :)

Anyway, if you guys don't want to use this format this week, then it's fine... but hopefully sometime we can try it out :) Considering the way most of us play, an Orc, a Roc, and an Aviar is all most teams will need for a course like the Colony or McKinney (short pads). Just don't mess up, b/c your partner only has one disc to throw :)

Let's take a yes/no vote from those of us who play the STD regularly. "yes" means we play the 3-disc format at the Colony or Short McKinney this week. "no" means we don't use this format this week. If you vote "yes" or "no", please let me know which park you prefer.

How do you figure? The hole is listed at 541' in the long position. If it was measured directly from tee to pin, then I was about 500'... if it was measured tee to mouth of the opening, then to the pin, I was only about 480'

Either way, I think I got my point across. :D

Fritz is in Irving, off of Shady Grove, just West of Loop 12. (Like watts said). It's on a street called britain or brighton, or britton... can't remember. the street dead-ends into the park. If travelling W on Shady Grove loop 12, look for a street sign on the Left that says "No Outlet" in a yellow block. I'm pretty sure it's Britain.

So, a couple votes for Fritz, a couple for the Colony, a couple for McKinney... Greenbelt would work, but Porter is out. There's a 7:00 draw dubs mini there on Thursdays. we need a decision :) Is there anyone who *can't* be at one of these courses by 6:30? JWoody already said he couldn't make it to the Colony or McKinney by then... but does he realize that the Colony is only 15 minutes or so from Greenbelt? Fritz is kinda on the other side of dallas from these other courses... so again, I need votes. If we play Greenbelt, 3-disc is out o the question. I want to try that format at a shorter course first. Perhaps we can forgo the 3-disc trial for a few weeks, or do it on a Saturday or something... Let's say the 31st? That's the day of the ZT10 Victoria... so i dunno. Anyway, here are the course choices for this week:

?? (9) - The Colony
Alex Clark (18) - McKinney
Fritz (9) - Irving

yeah, that's true... but i think her point is that he's bragging about all this skill, and he hardly ever plays anywhere but his home course. He keeps talking about how he's a badass and in 2 years when he finally moves up, we'd better look out. We're saying that it's easy to learn every line on one course. being able to play well on every course is a different story.

Personally, I'd like to push the series to best of 5. especially with all the crap that happened last time. All the holes after the "incident" made up the difference between a win and a loss. not "too good" for McKinney, just don't want to play that mini anymore. and for the record, I had been playing that mini semi-consistently since its inception (before you started playing DG). I was in 100% on the ace pot until I decided to quit going. Not that I agree with the rule, but I had only missed one week... so I went ahead and paid the extra $2 just in case. If you really want to open up that can of worms, the system they have in place is faulty for LOTS of reasons. I don't agree with it, and most people don't. It's not "totally fair" as you say. It's "totally flawed." Still, that's not why i quit. Regardless, I won't be going back.

I never said that we couldn't do the traditional pairings, just that I thought you were pushing for draw doubles after settling the DD/MD tie last week. If you two really want another drubbing, we would be more than happy to provide it.

Just remember your only victory came down to the last putt. Our wins were over before we reached the last hole.

I would rather play disc golf for money than waste it on gas, yeah if i have to come out to carrollton or come out to dallas or lewisville then no im not guna play for 100, especially when i drive a somewhat of a gas guzzler!
