I sure felt it Saturday morning, but finally came around by that afternoon. Being the 1st 2 day tourney I have played since World Doubles, I wasn't used to the 4 rounds.

After the "windy" round Saturday afternoon, I would like to beat up on GB, too. It sounds as if all of us had our worst rounds at GB. I will not be able to be there this Thursday as I have a required meeting to attend. We'll see if it lets out fast enough for me to get to GB. Since my wife doesn't lurk on this board, I'll just tell her the meeting lasted until 8:00 pm. :o BamBam, no telling her! :D

it's pretty sad that I shot 9 strokes better in the same tourney last year. Of course there was no heat and the wind wasn't as bad... but I thought I had improved a little bit :(. That one round at GB was the difference in my score last year vs. this year. now I really want vengeance :mad::)

Listen to the PDGA radio show from this weekend...how timely...he asked the sport psychologist why he shoots -5 when it is casual and fun with your friends and then +5 on the same course in a tourney the next week..

I like the Lake, both Carrollton courses and Aud though...that is a good rotation. Most of the other courses are just too far for everyone to make in the evenings....

Those courses are fine for the rotation: Lake Park, Audobon, Greenbelt, Porter. :cool: From work, I'm actually way closer to the Carrollton courses. From home, I'm about the same distance to Lake, Carrollton, McKinney courses. :D I'll play Audobon on weekends, don't think I can make it there as easily from work. No worries on that as I have others to get to.

We were clogging up a tournament thread with the smack talk, so we started a new thread for the Smack Talk Doubles. Every Thursday, a bunch of YGBs try to knock off the OMBs, and so far my team hasn't lost.

I think the YGBs are getting tired of losing all the time.

The site may or may not be down this weekend. I'm changing ISPs, so I'm not sure if I will have a gap in service or not. The result should be a little bit better speed for the site and all my internet browsing at home :). I'm hoping to have my shopping cart functional today, although I don't have the necessary pictures to get the Atwood shirts on there. I'll take those this afternoon. Then I'll be announcing the address on the equipment thread, and hopefully you guys can help me promote the hell out of it so we can sell the rest of these t-shirts. Pretty soon, I'll have my other server ready to go into a colo and then it will get MUCH faster. I'll also probably make some light changes at that point since I'll be hosting a few other sites on the same server. Y'all will still be able to play arcade games and the calendar will still be up and running. :)

Anyway long post, but it's a long update. I'm not sure that I will be making the TFO this weekend. I haven't heard back from Krell about a ride, and the friend that I was going to drive up with tonight isn't going to make it. At this point, I'll probably just save my money and stay home. Get some casual golf on Saturday :)

As far as changing our playing time with the time change, I think I remember 17684 voting for Saturday mornings at 8:30. :D:D

well, the smackenheimers didn't show very well in doubles. Watts and I shot a -4, as did adam and his ringer partner :). The other team on the card shot a -5, and none of us will be cashing. In all fairness, the wind picked up from about 5mph to about 15-25mph right as we were starting our round. I think the winning advanced score was -14 in the slightly breezy afternoon :mad:

8:30 on saturday would work for me, but I think considering that it's not going to be hot any more for a while, 10:00 should work for most people. even 17684 :D

of course not the double d's weren't there :eek: what dubs did you guys play at?

anywhere is fine with me. The lake will have a mini. it's rained enough the past couple days to make porter unplayable. McKinney will be sloppy, as will GB. Audobon will probably be a disaster area. I guess no matter where we go, I'm bringing cleats :)

Forecast looks terrible, but the lake works for me as long as Thursday is looking a little more dry by then.

I can start whenever. I think that as soon as we have 2 teams, that card should go ahead and start. No way we'll finish if we start mob golf at 6:00. If one card starts at like 5:45, and another at 6:00... we might make it. Sunset is 7:08pm today.

I haven't had a chance at either. My old roomie played the lit course during the OU bowl game down there years ago. He lost a disc there that night and it came back to me years later, via a little stop over in Texas.

I wouldn't be so sure of that, Adam. 0U (that's ZERO-U) hasn't exactly been shutting down their opponents this year, and so far, Cedric Benson has been showing up in a big way... four 180+ yard games in a row.
