Oct 16 2007, 11:14 AM
hey, we had an out of towner visit the course this weekend. his name was mike, and he is origally from greenville but lives in michigan now. he said that he was disappointed to see that the ECU course had been "defaced" but delighted to hear that Greenville had started GVDG and built a new course. not sure what he thought of the course though, i never talked to him again after i helped him find the meadow. just thought that i'd share that tidbit.

Oct 16 2007, 11:24 AM
how was ECU "Defaced"? did he mean the changes of the first few holes to accomodate the shed and the baseball field?
scottfaison
Oct 16 2007, 11:49 AM
Probably Dave. That course has changed a lot since I first started playing. Random trees getting torn down, trash is more of a problem and the old wood tee signs "walked off".

Conrtats to Mus who won over Myers in the Advanced match play. Mus was winning by one going into hole 18 and they both parked it. He now has won a free entry into the 2007 DEPC. See, it pays to be a club member :)
grateful24655
Oct 16 2007, 12:33 PM
yeah, that about sums it up. i mean, only three holes were actually changed, but it really changed the whole course in my mind. that and the trash. i'm not sure how it was back in the day when the course was first put in but i hope it wassn't as bad as it is now. way to go MUS! myers, good run, you're still number one in my book.
bgwvdave
Oct 16 2007, 12:37 PM
yeah that is what i thought. i have only played ECU twice and it is a really neat course. and as for the trash w/ college kids it is to be expected and it seemed to me that most of the trash ends up in or near the trash cans but they where overflowing both times i went there. it is a shame that the university does not recognize or act on the need to empty those cans more often.
grateful24655
Oct 16 2007, 05:37 PM

Congrats to Schweberger on No. 50 ( and counting). I've learned a lot from just playing with you, and would not be able to throw a backhand without some tips you gave me back in the day. I'll be cheering for you at the Players Cup...I'd love to see that title come downeast. :)

Take a few moments today to reflect on the Player, and the joy brought to you by your favorite games. Play yourself a Mario game, the title of which does not matter, and enjoy. You have earned it, devoted acolytes. In the name of the star, the fire flower, and the one up mushroom, may the Player be with you. Save and continue.

ECU just beat NC State in mens basketball here in Greenville, NC. It is just a small payback for beating us in football this year in our own stadium.
Speaking of stadiums, I am sure the weather will be nice in Aloha Stadium as ECU plays in their bowl game. thats right.... arrrrggggghhhhh
check it out, there is another store in town which sells discs, along with a bunch of other cool stuff. Its called "incredible flying objects" , its across from colonial mall, in that small shopping center off Arlington.
the disc selection isn't all that amazing, but it is still pretty good, including some flat top rocs with some nice stamps. the owner said he could get whatever you were looking for, and his selection will probably improve as interest in his store grows. there is a lot of other fun stuff in the store, and the owner is a real nice guy. Support him and the store, having more places to buy discs in town could only be a good thing.
See you kids at Da Moe.

Just a heads up that it is very possible that the 2008 DEPC will have a different weekend then the last 3 years. The reason for this is to avoid a conflict with our good friends in the Hawk Hollow area. We are hoping by doing this, more people will have a chance to enjoy both events. The potential change is to move DEPC from October 18-19 to the next weekend October 25-26. This also allows for a weekend gap between events in NC. As soon as the official date for the 2008 DEPC is finalized, it will be announced.

ztowndown07
Feb 28 2008, 11:53 AM
There is one alt. pin placement it's on hole two. That is the only one that I like.It tursn hole two into a risk reward shot. But if you guy's are playing the am crosstown layout I 'll make it rite. The Zebulon course is so beautiful right now ya'll picked a great weekend I've been hard at work to get this course looking beautiful.

ztowndown07
Feb 28 2008, 02:56 PM
Well not exactly there is one pin placement at the 620' mark. we use another basket at the 1050' mark so there are two baskets on that hole we let rec players and masters play the 620'.

Thanks everyone for coming out to Three Rivers in Kinston today. 30 people showed. Noble won Open, 51 49 - 100, beating Jeb in a playoff. However he would have lost Am, Steven O. shot 53 46 - 99 to win by 19. No aces today.
Next Three Rivers will be in Greenville on June 1, first round Meadow whites, second round at ECU. Ace Pool = $177+

The Kinston Disc Golf Association is trying to help Joe Noble off-set the cost of traveling to and competing in the Amatuer World's tournament in Michigan this August. We have set up a Paypal link on the home page on the upper left side. We are trying to have all funds together by the end of July, so Joe and Jessica can decide if they have enough money to attend. Any support you may be able to give will really be appreciated. You may also mail check papyable to:
