scottfaison
Sep 20 2006, 03:50 PM
Within a week. Hopefully much less since they are all lined up in my hallway (I am sure Mrs Scotty would love to have them there for a week). We need to get the proper screws for attaching them to the post and the tools/time. Also one of the signs was wrong (sponsors information) so we need to rectify that situation also. I have time Thursday and Friday and I am hoping to have the equipment to put them up. I will be going over to Stews tonight to get somethings for it.
So if your post was a volunteer to help, you know when I will be working on getting them in.

Also, do not forget that if you are a club member and plan to play in the DEPC 06, YOU HAVE TO DO SOME TOURNAMENT WORK! Get in touch with me to find out what jobs are availible. If not, I can always volunteer you for something.

Three Rivers Disc Golf Series: December 10th TnT Ranch, Farmville. Registration starts at 9:30am.

I've been playing it all week during lunch and must say it's the most challenging front 9 (well 1-8 and then 18) i've ever seen.

Renny freakin' rocks though, I let the hype get to me. I like the uniqueness of the challenges and trickiness of the terrain. Would love to see some GVDG folks out here :P

And now, random hotness.

Mrs Scotty and I just wanted to let all of you all know that there will be an addition to the disc golf family. We confirmed it today that there is a future world champion on the way. Cindy is about 5-6 weeks along and the due date is sometime in July. No, this wasn't planned but we are both excited about it. Cindy is doing well and we had our first doctor visit today and we saw the baby on the sonogram (it was about the size of a grain of rice). We even saw the heartbeat. All I can say is wow, I am going to be a dad.
And by the way, this might interfere with Mrs Scotty's new hobby, disc golf. After the DEPC she began playing. She even has her own bag and disc. The only bad thing is that she throws thumbers on some shots. Needless to say I plan to correct this throwing flaw

Mrs Scotty and I went to Joe Nobles tree farm today and got us a nice tree. Too bad it grew on the way home and now takes up a good chuck of the dining room. Either way it still looks great. If you need a tree go see Joe and his herd of dogs.
It sounds like it will be cold at the monthly so dress warmly. I will be sporting a nice festive look.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays fellow disc golfers! Greenville Disc Golf is looking to have a very good and busy winter.

GVDG and Disc Golf United, www.discgolfunited.com (http://www.discgolfunited.com) , are proud to announce the start of a handicapped singles weekly league. The DGU is a new handicapping service that approached GVDG in helping them get going. As an incentive for people to come out and join, everyone who participates will get a free one year membership with the DGU. The first event will be Saturday January 6 at noon and again at 3pm at the Meadow. Meet about 20 minutes till to sign up. Cost is $2 a round. This is a cash league with payout based on attendance. Those of you that played at the DEPC '06 will already have handicaps calculated based on your round scores there. Everyone else will have a handicap figured out after two rounds of play, a general handicap will be used based on division until yours can be calculated.

On Saturday February 3, 2007 GVDG will have our annual Ice Bowl monthly. Entry is $10 and 2 canned goods. Format is the same as last year with first round $1 mulligans, up to 5 per hole. The second round will be doubles based on first round score. Both rounds are from the white, short, teepads. All food raised will go to the Pitt County Food Bank and money raised will go towards a scholarship for a Pitt County high school senior. This is for a good cause and anything extra would be greatly appreciated, if you know of any potential sponsors get in touch with Max Crotts at (252)714-0331.

Stay tuned as we have much more planned for GVDG this winter. Also check www.gvdg.org (http://www.gvdg.org) for updates.

Thanks,

Max Crotts
