my favorite Robert story was we found that he was on the same flight with me and JJ for the 04 worlds.

I've got some video footage of Robert that Boz took during a Jacksonville monthly in Oct. '03. We were watching it during a club meeting recently and I had forgotten he was in it. It was great seeing him playing again and enjoying his favorite sport.

I just played Borderland Park in Easton, Ma.

It has blue and white tee pads and baskets on every hole!!

So you can play 4 different layouts.

It also has tee signs on each tee pad with the distances/path for each basket....color coded.

The only thing i didn't like is the pads....they are natural(which i like), but they are putting down gravel which makes you slide...boo.

Oh yeah....they have way more biting flies than we do right now.

im glad they had baskets on every hole, i hate when i hafta imagine hitting the left side of the chains and falling out.

Check it out.....we went to our appointment today (Jessica is 35.5 weeks) and much to our surprise, she has dialated 1cm. The Doc says no way will you make it to your due date September 8th. Open to all GVDG members. There is going to be some compromise about who are members so if you have been a member before and plan on renewing, you can still play but you have to be current by the 2007 DEPC.
Entry is $10.
You will compete in the division you will be playing at the 2007 DEPC.
The start date is September 4 and the end date is October 14.
You do not have to have your $10 upfront. You can sign up by just telling Max or I that you want in. Just remember you have to pay before the 2007 DEPC.
All matches will be at The Meadow. Pros play blues, all ams play whites.
Any other questions, ask me or check the email that was sent out.

scotty, what is the doubles course record from the blues in teh alt(long) pins. Fred and me shot a 41 (-13) today, missed the four over four hundred feet and 12. I know you shot a -14 sometime back, was that from the originals?

Jeb I have you as in the match play. The seeding will be based on PDGA ratings. Even though this is not perfect, it is still a decent measuring tool. That is another reason we split the match play into 3 divisions. If someone does not have a rating, they will be ranked after the rated players in alphabetical order. This could possible cause some early upsets, but that is what match play is about.

Webster, I am not sure what the dubs record from the blues (alt) is but I am sure we can find out. I also believe that the 40 my partner and I shot was from the originals. Nice shooting by you and Fred. Too bad it wouldn't count as an official record :)

yeah basket toss. who are all the finalists???? i made an announcement last night at dubbs but i'll post one up here for everyone who wasn't there. steve lilly and i are going to pick up some mulch, probably from the city of new bern's mulch yard (since greenville won't have any until october) and transport it to the course. not totally sure on the date but i know it will be a weekend. we're going to be spreading it on the left side of 8's fairway and on the path's to 9. any donations for gas $$ would be greatly appreciated and any help spreading it would be too. i will repost with more info on the date and time.

So far after talking with Steve, here's the plan. The weekend of the 22-23 will be the earliest that I can get out there to do this. Since the project will take at least a couple of hours, I think the weekend will be the best time to do it. We may possibly go ahead and get the mulch and dump it out here so we can have it there and it'll be ready to go when we are. We're going to get it from Ayden so I don't think that we will need donations for gas money, between Steven and I we should be able to handle it. I'll let you dudes know if anything changes.

Pro - the 1 and 2 seed got byes the first round. Jeb is 1 seed and Sean Gough is 2 seed.
4 seed Scotty vs 5 seed WOP. Winner will take on 1 seed Jeb
3 seed Ronnie H. will take on 6 seed Bert K. The winner will take on Sean Gough.
The remaining 2 golfers will battle for the win.
Advanced - the 1 and 2 seed got byes the first round. Myers is 1 seed and Mus is 2 seed.
4 seed PJ will take on 5 seed Max. The winner will play Myers.
3 seed JonVee will take on 6 seed Stew. The winner will take on Mus.
The remaining 2 golfers will play for the win.
Intermediate. This will be a double elimination. 1 seed is Stephen Lily, 2 seed is Stephen Gough and 3 seed is Pierce.
2 seed will play 3 seed. The winner will play 1 seed. After this match, the 2 golfers with one loss will play each other with the loser being eliminated. The golfer with one loss will play the golfer with no losses. If you lose 2 times, you are out.

Just to let everyone know, 3 Rivers will be at Farm LIfe Sunday, September 23. Tee time is around 10 am. Pro entry is $10 and am entry is $5. Come on out and have a fun time.

Fred is going to try and have his DEPC fund raising event again this year. The tentative date is Saturday September 29. More information will be coming. Last year was a blast playing his course that heand Okie laid out and then he fed us all. This event also helped raise money for the DEPC. The cost will be $10 and there will be some ctps and mayeb a trophy or 2.

I don't think any recent info is up there. It has been a while since it's been updated. I am sure that any questions you have can be answered on here though.

Warf got a 5 point bonus for leading a round (he was tied with wop). The 5 points are added after you both split the points for 2nd and 3rd.

aight everyone. sunday steve and i are gonna be out at the meadow pulling some vines and laying down some mulch on holes 8 and 9. whoever wants to help is more than welcome. we'll be out there around 10am, so come on out and lend a hand. shovels, pitchforks, clippers, and any type of lawn care device are welcome as well.

Ronnie takes down Fred 4&amp;2. Yesterday was a blast with all the festivities and the water holes. I want to thank Fred for working so hard to prepare what he could for this DEPC fundraiser, great work! Also everyone one who came out to support our tourney. And the workday today was quite a success. Joe pulled out this 360' mower and went to town for a couple of hours while Myers, Max Sean and I cleared 8's fairway and laid down mulch. We got alot done and it is lookin tip top. Joe took care of alot of areas to include hole 3 around the corner, alot around 8 and 9's tees and openings to the woods, 15 on the hill right of the short tee, and down 16. Good times for sure. Wish I had a camera, but you guys will see it soon enough. Thanks for everyone who came out to lend a hand and especially to Joe. Without his equipment we couldn't have completed it. Only one casualty. The blade for his mower was KIA by an 8' section of rebar. Sorry man.

All the disc have been found in the water at Freds so there were no lost disc. Vee and I went out there today to finish cleaning up. Thanks again to all who came out and played. Thanks to Fred for the hard work and also Tony for helping out after I had to leave on Friday. We raised $141 for the DEPC. Thanks to the golfers who worked on the course today, it looks great.

@ the club meeting last night we discussed some more course work that can be done. one of the main concerns being the teepads. the plan is to go ahead and get some dirt get the backs of the pads leveled out now so they will be nice and compacted by the tourney. also, the trash on the course is a major concern. i would like to ask for everyone's help in collecting it all before the tourney. i know it's going to be hard to get it all, but we should be able to do it if everyone lends a hand. with the beginning of fall and midterms and all that jazz there will most likely be less golfers out on the course drinking and littering. this should make our efforts seem less futile. also, hole 9 will be getting some revamping done, mus and sean are going to be heading that up with help from me and whoever else wants to. if anyone else has any ideas of other areas they think can be worked on (within reason) give max and/or i a call.

Wop Juan V and Myself cleaned the course yesterday...Looking good...When is Joe going to be able to come back with some heavy machinery???Looks like we might need it once more...Is noone else starting to get excited???who's ready to play 80 holes of golf?

you know i am excited bro. I agree that the course is looking pretty good. I would say between the mystery man and us three picking up trash yesterday we've removed majority of the trash on the course and in the shule. I believe that we will be back out there tomorrow (Monday the 8th) to do some work on the teepads, spread some more mulch on 8 and clear some areas. Planning on being out there around 5 so whoever can help come on out.

Hope easygreens enjoyed getting sneaky. From what jeb is saying that temp course was sick! Anywho, as Myers said Tuesday we'll be leveling out some pads, tree removal and pickin up trash. I think Myer's will be sending out an email so hopefully we can get some hands out there. Fred, AJ and I finished filling in the "concrete abyss" in 8's fairway and John and Max did some TT'ing all over. Da course is looking might phine.

yeah that course was a lot of fun.

little boring in some places but had lots of really cool and gorgeous holes.
