I spent all week playing Cedar Hills and Zebulon.

My round at Zebulon was with JJ and LL - they may be good and stuff, but they are not MAx and PJ!

I mean, I didn't see a single special blend roc, not a single chicken wing, and they didnt throw a single shot into the ground

Thanks guys Scott and I greatly appreciate your thoughts. last night we got word that my sister had to deliver her baby at 5 months. no other news about their status as of yet, she is in need of all the prayers you can supply. :(

Our thoughts and prayers are with you guys, hope that all goes well. On another note, congrats to all the GVDG/DEP golfers who got their invite to the Amateur Disc Golf Championships. To include; Wop, Jeb, Mills, Og, & Sean. Mad props. Just might have to go to Michigan & represent GVDG, you know.

Cindy's sister gave birth to a little girl but it's time on earth was short..the baby was only 5 months old so we knew the chances were not great..thanks to those who have kept them in their thoughts and prayers...the mother is recovering and should come home tomorrow...please just keep the family in mind as they now recover...

Once again Scotty, you're in our prayers.

we saw a little ace magic ourselves today at ecu. went out to play with 5 discs. pj, his friend from work BC, and me. played the new layout and shot 3-18s basket. pj throws a beat up wasp into a tree. and steps up with his other mid. a stable roc and doesn't have much luck turning it over. nice hyzer in to 17s basket. pure.

I just wanted to say thanks to those who sent their well wishes to me and my wife (espically Tony, Schweb, JonVee, Max and Stew)..it meant a lot to both me and Cindy and to Cindy's family..the mom and dad are back home and getting along...Cindy and I will be back up there this weekend..sorry I will miss the monthly but anyone that knows me will realize family comes first...

Here's the information for the first GVDG Fantasy Football
Challenge...you do not need to be a club member to play, you do not have to be there in person to draft, you just need to pay your money and get your team.
The basics: this is going to be very similar to the way JimmyGolf ran his fantasy football, simple, basic and fun. You don't need a PhD or an all access ESPN pass to play, a little knowledge of the game or years of studying, either is fine. You will draft a team and then choose your starters for each week. There are weekly winners and a yearly overall winner.
The cost: The yearly fee is $20. This is the money that goes into the pot for the overall winner so the more we have the more you can win (if we get enough we can award other places than first). The weekly fee is $2. This goes to the weekly winners. Each week you have a chance of winning which is the nice thing about this style of league. You can always prepay for weeks to or if you win just have the
money rolled over. For example.. you pay $30 on draft day, that means you get your team ($20) and also 5 weeks ($10). If you win a week (lets say $14 that week)you can count that toward your weekly fee and that would cover 7 more weeks. This is done so that cost is kept low.
The team: Your team will consist of 2 QB's, 2 RB's (and yes they can be fullbacks), 2 TE's, 4 WR's, 2 Kickers and 2 defenses/special teams. Each week you will tell who you want starting (1 QB, RB, TE, K, Defense/Special Team and 2 WR).
The draft: We will have a draft in person where you pick your teams. If you can not be there in person we can allow you to draft online. We can set up a chat so that you will know who has been pickedand allow you to get your picks in. We are looking to have the draft August 20, Saturday evening..sometime after Pygmyman's event but this
might change to the Sunday or Friday. If you decide to play you will be let known.
There are other things such as trades, starting lineup deadline and points system. These can be discussed more at the draft or if you want to know just email and I will tell you. All of the money will go to the payout for the players so there is no hidden overhead. Get yourself and a friend in and lets have a fun year.

Hey, I just wanted to let everyone know that I found out tonight that my shoulder is not dislocating....that is the good news. The bad news is that I tore the bicep tenndon that attatches to my shoulder ( repetitive forceful overhead throwing ) It is called a SLAP tear and I will be getting a MRI in the morning to see how bad it is. My orthopedic Doc says I will have to have surgery especially if I ever want to throw again. He recommends a surgeon in Kentucky and I may have to head out as early as tomorrow afternoon. I will keep you posted as to my evaluation and progress. Keep me in your thoughts while you are throwing plastic, I am going to miss getting to play.

I will be holding off on the surgery for about four weeks and then I will be reevaluated. Anyway, I am looking for a great turn out int the morning. We will see how many of our local disc golfers have a heart and those that just throw plastic.

It is days like Sunday that remind you of the good heartedness that people have. I am so proud of everyone that was invovlved in any way with the Robert Wynn Tournament. Obviously it was a huge sucess, but it should also remind each of us to live life to the fullest and be sure to always tell the people we love how we feel. There are no gaurantees with life, but I gaurantee that you will be remembered for your efforts toward this noble cause. You guys are my brothers, I am proud of you all.

Oh YEAH, Mus and myself got our bench put in on hole #9 last night, we still need to clear some of the shrubbery around the long tee pad and bench. Also, another note, Super Dave called me yesterday afternoon. Along with purchasing a 1 out of 25 Glow Orc at the Oak Hollow Open, awesome stamp, I got to fill out a certificate that Innova raffled for invitations to the USDGC, and..... MY NAME GOT PULLED! guys....when you guys qualify for usadgc....go and play.......it will be the hardest course youve ever played.....the distance and the elevation are like nothing youve ever seen before.....it took me 3 rounds just to start to figure that course out!!! i would highly recomend it to anyone who can make it to go play that course.......it beat me like a red headed step child

Gotta say I'm a little disappointed that those goals were taken up. I really enjoyed watching the Mexican soccer league after dubbs. I hope those guys find a suitable place to play in the evenings. I also hope no one from our group told parks and rec to remove those. I like public parks and enjoy seeing people have fun in them.

That's a good point, what is the reasoning for removing the goals? They weren't in the way, unless you suck and throw it into the dirt (both of which I do sometimes). The actually players were pretty observant of when people where throwing. I sure hope that the Latino's don't get [I'm a potty-mouth!] at us because of it.

Not really sure why the goals were taken up, me max and scotty were out there playing friday and they just came in and took them, so i dont believe anything was said to parks about it, so reasoniing behind the removal is kinda up in the air

The reason the goals came up were because they were there for summer camps and things that they did in the summer. Since summer is up, they took them up, same way they did last year. I am sure they will be back next year.

The club stamped discs are in..we have 20 DX Orcs, Firebirds, Valkyries, Aviars and Rocs...once club member get their disc owed to them, we will sell these to anyone who would like one..club members contact Max or Scotty about picking yours up and if weather permits we will have these out at doubles on Thursday.....

C-Ware..they are $10 each....I will post a link later with the artwork on it so you can see...they are perfect for Texas since they are preshrunk and all that sweat and sun wont cause them to shrink while you wear them...
