Please keep an eye out for 2 of my Coyotes. I left them by the practice basket after dubs Monday and did not notice until today. If you see them, please get them for me. Both are champion, one is solid blue and the other is a clearish blue/green. My name is in both of course, but I think it is slightly faded in one. Much love to whoever can locate them, I won't forget the returner.

Hey guys, sorry I couldn't make it to Greenville....freaking tired from the Tarheel. We are putting in 20 TWENTY benches from one until Tuesday. Then doubles at 5:45 from the shorts. There will now be a bench on all pads....if you have post hole diggers, we need them bad! If you can't make it out, we need some help again soon taking down the tops and cages to make way for the NEW ones right after three rivers. Call me if you can come 560-1745. Thanks!

what's up guys. went to ktown today and played some dubbs. a local eagle scout put out a bunch of benches with joe, it's real awesome. some trees fell on 4 also, kinda opens it up for a risky annie, it's aight. anyways, i figured it would be a good warm up for azalea, and it was. shot -14 with austin to edge out jeb and joe noble with a -13. the ace i hit on 17 pretty much decided it. pretty awesome. looking forward to this weekend for sure. jeb and i are heading down on thursday morning. call us when ever you guys are gonna be around. for those off ya going to three rivers, enjoy it. see ya by the beach.

Yes they are the same day, hence the reason I will be the TD of choice that day since Max will be working at the charity event. That is also the reason we are taking the 15% from the purse like we normally do for the April monthly but this time donating it to the charity. What's up Greenville. Played the Standing Rocks Open this weekend in Stevens Point, WI. Awesome tournament, awesome courses. I took second in an advanced field of 69. Anyway, the craziness of the tournament was that I hit two aces in my first round. Of course, then there's the irony: 1. I wasn't in the ace pool, 2. we had a DGTV camera person in our group and neither ace was caught on film, 3. I only finished -2 for that round. At any rate, I doubled my total ace count ever in an 8 hole span- now I have 4.

Good luck to everyone playing Sanford next week.

I still think aces aren't the greatest shots Wop, don't get me wrong. Maybe that's why I don't get more of them... for what it's worth, the 4 I've gotten probably would have been OK had they missed, only one REALLY slammed the chains, the others were real gentle like. Regardless, it's pretty surreal hitting two in a tournament round.

Hole 11, the first hole I got, is 245' downhill, tight anhyzer, blind tee shot. You have to hit an early gap off the tee that can restrict how far you swing the disc out, and the green falls away from the basket on the left. I saw a lot of roll away, and if you don't turn it hard enough, you float off into the woods. I threw a beat DX Rhyno. The next hole I got was hole 4. It's 265', one of the flattest shots on the course, and a long, slow turning anny. You don't want to hit an early tree (I found that out the hard way on day 2), and the green is pretty well protected. I threw a champ Leopard so that I could turn it over, but also have it flatten out or hyzer back a little at the end. Right after it started to fade it went in.

I keep a pretty level head during tournaments, so I celebrated on the tee, but you gotta be ready for the next hole after that. I really thought about it at the end of the round. Definitely an awesome feeling. We actually could have had 3 aces in our group. The DGTV guy (Bryan) threw a geat shot on hole 17 that had the basket dialed in all the way, hit dead center, and fell out.

Standing Rocks is a great course though, if anyone ever makes it up to WI, it's a must play in my opinion.

It was a rather slow day at work. It should have been a 21, 18 is an easy 1 hole but I did get a 1 on a par 4. I remember in high school networking class I got a 19 on this game but didn't take a screen shot of it.

There will be a monthly this Saturday, June 16 at The Meadow. First round is from the blues and the second round is from the whites. Pro entry is $10 and am entry is $5. Ace pool is $1 optional. Tee time is 10 am, please be there and signed in by 9:45 am.

FYI I believe the ace pool is over $100.

scottfaison
Jun 12 2007, 02:34 PM
There will be a 3 Rivers event this Sunday, June 17 at The Meadow/ECU. First round is from the blues at The Meadow and the second round (tentatively) is at ECU. Pro entry is $10 and am entry is $5. Ace pool is $1 optional. Tee time is 10 am, please be there and signed in by 9:45 am.

There will also be an optional overall for the 2 events (GVDG Monthly/3 Rivers). If you plan to play all 4 rounds, you can pay an extra $5 (both pro and am pay the same) and all 4 round scores will be calculated together. Basically, this is like a small weekend event. Pros will win cash and ams will win merchandise.

scottfaison
Jun 12 2007, 02:38 PM
Also, just to let people know, 3 Rivers will not be paying out 100%. The payout will be based on a 90% payout. The 10% that will be pulled out will be used for sponsoring events in the eastern NC/3 Rivers area. This is a way that Max and I feel is a way that golfers can give back to the local scene while still having fun and getting something for it. I just wanted to post and let those who might be interested know up front about the payout.

To steal a line from ECU and make it relevant to disc golf, "Disc golfers supporting disc golfers".

mus

another disc golf/birthday weekend....yay!!!!

jahzia32
Jun 14 2007, 09:09 PM
will the payouts for ams be gvdg items or is there works for 3 rivers to get seperate gear seeing as how it is under new management? by the way i am glad to hear that it is sill going to keep going!

scottfaison
Jun 14 2007, 11:21 PM
Currently the 3 Rivers will be using the GVDG disc/merchandise for winnings. I am not sure if we will be getting our own stuff in for a while or if we even do. It may be better to work with GVDG and allow them supply us. This helps them move more merchandise and it allows us to have a large selection of merchandise. If we got our own, we would have to have a much smaller selection due to the cost limitations. Max and I are doing everything we can to continue the tradition of 3 Rivers and at the same time keep it as simple and easy for the golfers to participate. Like we said earlier, we hope to use our profits to sponsor events in the eastern NC area.
Thanks for the good question and if anyone else has any others, please feel free to ask. I hope to see many of you on Saturday, Sunday or both.

jebbeer
Jun 15 2007, 02:18 AM
So is GVDG running Three Rivers or are you and Max? Them and us is confusing.

scottfaison
Jun 15 2007, 09:43 AM
Max and I are running 3 Rivers. Max and I are supplying the scorecards, time, flyer's and other miscellaneous items that go along with running a series. GVDG is supplying us with the disc for payouts for the time being. Any disc sold at a 3 Rivers, GVDG will get all of the money from the sale. The disc given away in payout are the disc that are being sold to us from GVDG. Max and I are buying the disc for more than what GVDG paid for. In fact, we are buying the disc from GVDG for more than what we could buy on our own. Yes, we could go out and buy separate disc for 3 Rivers, but we could not be able to provide the selection that we would like to give the players. In short, everyone comes out ahead. 3 Rivers keeps going on, GVDG moves more merchandise, Max and I get to help keep a series going, and the golfers who play in the series get a fun event at a reasonable price with a good prize selection.

Hopefully that clarifies it.
Good luck in Charlotte this weekend Jeb.

Jun 16 2007, 05:15 PM
Thanks to all those who cam out for the GVDG monthly. The winners were Kurt Hodnett in Intermediate (57/52), JD Boone in Advanced (57/46) and Sean Gough in Pro (47/40). The scores are from the blues/whites.
The top 3 scores in open after the first round were Wop with a 45 and Gough/ Faison with a 47 from the blues. The second round scores from the whites were Gough 40 and Wop/Faison 43. It really was some hot shooting today.
Myers and Bert Williams each shot 41 in the second round.
No aces so the next monthly the ace pool will be at $155+
I hope to see some people at 3 Rivers tomorrow. Starts at 10am at The Meadow (blues) then we will go to ECU for the second round.

Thanks to those who came out today for the 3 Rivers event. Winning in Intermediate was Kenny J. In pro there was a tie for first. Sean Gough shot a record tying 44 at The Meadow from the blues then shot a 46 at ECU. I shot a 52 at The Meadow and a 40 at ECU. The cash was split but we played off for bragging rights.

It is really interesting putting on a basket that has no top or chains :)

In the weekend overall JonVee took second with a 199 and I won with a 182.

If so, I have a broom you can borrow to clean out the batting cages so your team can use them again. Just ask the Tigers how to perform the SWEEP.

Honestly though, I never thought I would see Andruw Jones batting near .200. Even with their lack of offense right now, they are a club that is still right around .500. At least Bobby Cox is keeping his performance up and tying the all time ejection mark.

Cindy is more than ready and is eager for Holden to make his mind up. I am also ready and very excited. I feel more relaxed now that summer school is done and I have been accepted to the ECU College of Business. We have gotten a lot of things but I am not sure what is left on the registry at Babies r Us. As you well know, new parents and parents to be can always use a little more lol. Let me know how you and Jess are doing and if you have decided on a name yet. Drop me a line or give me a call.

Whew..what a long night. I am home for now to get some things done and get some rest (hospital chair beds aren't made for anyone over 4 foot tall). Cindy is doing very good, just tired. Holden is also doing well. Her family is on the way into town and so is mine so young Holden will get to meet a lot of people today.
Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers from all of you all. It has meant a lot to know we have such good friends in the disc golf community. I will post more later and keep everyone updated on the mom and baby. If anyone wants to get in touch with us, please feel free to call my cell.
Time to order some new minis :)

Jul 11 2007, 04:42 PM
Well, we have had 29 dubs so far (15 Monday, 14 Thursdays) so I can see where 10 does not seem like a lot. Also they started back in April and it is July now so it has been a while.
