Tim Selinske could see around the corner.

Pairing a passion for all things disc, a dream of what the future looked like for disc golf and the hard work to help lay the foundation for that bright future, Selinske motivated those around around him to encompass those same things.

“He was thinking about what is possible, what’s next,” Crazy John Brooks said Wednesday at the opening ceremony of the 2021 PDGA Tim Selinske U.S. Masters Championships. “It was like Tim could look around the corner and see the future.

The following provides an overview of the Policies & Best Practices in place for the PDGA Tim Selinske US Masters Disc Golf Championships. This event will be operating in Phase 3 of the PDGA Major COVID-19 Requirements & Best Practices. This overview document provides important highlights of the full policy for quicker reference.

The PDGA follows all state and local COVID-19 policies and guidance. Regarding the State of Missouri, and the City of Columbia, all entities have policies in place that allow the event to operate in accordance with the PDGA Majors COVID-19 Requirements & Best Practices stipulated in the policy document.

In response to player feedback, the PDGA has updated the policy regarding how divisions with fewer players will be reduced (cut) entering the semi-final round. This change will ensure more players from smaller divisions have the opportunity to compete in the semi-finals at the World Championships. See the updated policy.

The 2021 PDGA Pro Masters Disc Golf World Championships will feature three disc golf courses.

EMPORIA, Kansas — The marathon became a sprint Saturday at the 2021 PDGA Junior Disc Golf World Championships as each division was cut to four players and the results came in fast and furious on the famous 18th green of the Emporia Country Club.

In the end, nine world champions were crowned, capping a weeklong celebration of junior disc golf.

EMPORIA, Kansas — Stacie Hass has officially arrived.

The seventeen-year-old from Hubbard Lake, MI, who has, until this point, quietly kept pace with the defending champion, Melody Castruita, thoroughly outpaced Castruita and the rest of the division through 36 holes on Friday.

EMPORIA, Kansas — Resilience was the name of the game Thursday for Uriyah Kelley of Rochester, NH, and Peter Calabrese of Shoreview, MN, as both players bounced back from early trouble during the second day of competition at the 2021 PDGA Junior Disc Golf World Championships.

Everyone knew this Worlds would be special, but nobody knew just how special it would turn out to be.

Just hours after Catrina Allen snatched victory from the jaws of defeat with a gutsy approach shot that landed safe on the OB line that surrounds The Fort’s daunting 18th green, James Conrad stepped up to a similar shot on that very same hole.

OGDEN, Utah — It’s all come down to this—two years of waiting, five days of fierce competition, 209 of the best disc golfers on the planet, and history on the line.

But it’s still anybody’s game—at least, on paper, that is.

After an intense moving day at The Fort in which the chase card all but supplanted the leaders, there’s a familiar face at the top followed by a pack of hungry would-be successors to the throne.

OGDEN, Utah — The moment came on hole 16, staring up at the elevated basket from his perch in the bunker below, 45 feet out. Already committed to one penalty stroke and facing the possibility of another should his putt clear the basket and find the bunker—as it inevitably would if he put anything close to a full bid on it and missed—it was decision time for Calvin Heimburg.

OGDEN, Utah — You’re standing on the 14th tee and already 10-under par for the round when you start to do the math. Birdie a few more, and you can get to 11, maybe 12. Birdie them all, and–who knows—maybe you can run away with this thing.

That may explain why Emerson Keith sounded a little disappointed even after shooting the day’s hot round —a 10-under-par 53 at The Fort during round 2 to grab a share of the lead at the 2021 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships.

OGDEN, Utah — Nearly 24 months have passed since the 2019 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships were contended in Peoria, Illinois, and with memories of a lost opportunity fresh in everyone’s mind, and more at stake than ever before, this year’s Pro Worlds seems to have been designed to become a pressure cooker.
