Ever think about the future of disc golf and your organization’s role in it? If so, we’d like to hear from you. Last week our active members received a survey from the PDGA office. The membership is surveyed periodically for a variety of reasons. In 2011, the organization conducted a 93 question survey with a primary focus on gathering information about the habits of our members to help direct marketing and sponsorship efforts. This year’s survey is part of the strategic planning process kicked off by the board of directors in January and it’s a little different from the last one.

The 2nd annual National Team Challenge took place at the IDGC on August 31st and September 1st.  This very unique and exciting team event is still in its infancy stage, but packs a punch on the enjoyment factor for the participants.  In the inaugural year the tournament only saw 6 teams competing for the title, this year the event more than doubled with 15 teams participating.

The 3rd annual Ledgestone Insurance Open presented by ABC Discs in Peoria, Illinois had a tough act to follow after last year’s event. The 2012 edition featured $10,000 of added cash to the pro purse, a huge player’s pack for amateur players (including three discs) and an awesome player’s party. Throw in perfect 75 degree sunny weather with no wind on two of the top six courses in Illinois and you had an awesome tournament.
