Players were flying high Sunday at the Lemon Lake complex in Crown Point, Ind. as 25 teams gathered to compete in the 2013 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championship Mixed Doubles event. Through the long fairways of the Lemon Lake Blue Course they battled through two rounds of difficult disc golf on a beautiful summer day.
The globe’s best competitors gathered Saturday at Hidden Lake Park in Merrillville, Ind. for the first day of the 2013 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships.
The 2013 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships returns to Crown Point, Ind. from August 3-10 for an event filled with excitement and surprise. This event will be a sight to see with its highly competitive player base of 304 players and a total purse of over $75,000 up for grabs. These players come from all over the world to represent their states and their countries in the race for the coveted World Champion title.

Elections Process
Oklahoma has a vibrant disc golf community with a long history. There are a number of golf clubs with active membership rolls throughout the state. In 2009, a small group of community-minded disc golfers set out to create a disc golf foundation, not a club, but a public charity whose function would be to facilitate fund-raising for disc golf related activities. We wanted to be able to approach businesses and individuals for donations which would be tax deductible. We didn’t want to duplicate the activities of existing disc golf clubs, but to help facilitate their goals through fundraising.
Lots of practice, tournament experience and, of course, shooting the best score in your division.
We prepared a chart showing some Pro Worlds stats for the division winners since ratings were created in 1999. Perhaps it will provide some guidance and hopefully inspiration for how well you might have to play to win your division this August or as you prepare for future Worlds as a pro.
