Disc Golf Guy Broadcasts More Qualifiers in Wisc.

The United States Disc Golf Championship is something you just have to experience to understand, says Greater Milwaukee Open tournament director Terry Miller. And, after the A-tier tournament in Milwaukee, Wisc., 10 more disc golfers, many of whom have never set foot on Winthrop Gold, will get a chance to see it all.

Leading the way with eight strokes below his projected for the May 21-22 tournament was intermediate Brandon Burbach, 23, of Sussex, Wisc. The 866-rated Burbach, who wasn't familiar with The Championship until this year, is all about it now.

USDGC Vet Ready to Take On New Style

After earning the top USDGC qualifying spot at the DiscGolfPlanet.tv People's Championship on May 14th-15th, Devin Frederick is ready to exact his revenge on the Winthrop Gold Course come October.

In his past three trips to the USDGC, the 998-rated Frederick, of Hellerton, Penn., hasn't exactly lit the course on fire. He said that although he's always enjoyed the experience, there were always those few holes that sullied his performance.

“Every year I wish I would play better,” said Frederick, whose best finish was 83rd in 2007.

Overall he finished 21 strokes below his projected, with 11 of those strokes coming in the second round when he tied the course record with a 1079-rated round under heavy winds. Look below to see how 2011 USDGC qualifying works.
