USADGC - Day 1

Win this TROPHY for your shining moment at the USADGC.

Drew Miller (KY) leads with an unofficial 1020 rated 56 followed by Jason Anderson (MN), David Wiggins Jr (NC) and Robert Martinek (ON) at 57. It was a great day in the mid-70s with little wind until later in the afternoon.

No jail time, just Chris Shegitz checking in at the USADGC.

Today was registration check-in, doubles and player meeting at the 2010 U.S. Amateur Disc Golf Championships near Ann Arbor, Michigan. It was a great day in the low 70s at the renowned Toboggan course.

Japan Open - Day 1

Defending champions David Feldberg and Valarie Jenkins lead the Japan Open after the first two rounds. The format for day one had both divisions playing one round on each of the Raijin and Fujin courses at Nasu Highlands golf club in Nasu-Shiobara Japan.

Who's that sneaking 'round your course at night?

More and more disc golfers so it seems. One industry source shared that tens of thousands of LED bobber lights have been sold in the past few years that are duct taped to discs so they can be seen at night. In the Twin Cities, players in leagues that run early in Spring or late into Fall know to carry a few LED bobber lights and tape. The last few holes on several nights will be finished at dusk, sometimes slipping into darkness.

Carr Captures Crown at Beaver State Fling; Paige Pierce Finds Favor at Milo McIver to Finish Second

When Liz Carr came off the 16th green at the Milo McIver East Course during Sunday's final round at the 2010 Beaver State Fling, she was not going to let the six she just carded deter her from giving it her all during the last two holes.  She was still pursuing Des Reading, who had a one throw advantage, as well as trying to hold off the over-achieving teenager from Texas, Paige Pierce, whose 911 rating belies her true disc golf talent.

Dietrich Lays Down Law to Claim Lead at Fling

For Missoula, Montana's Christian Dietrich life is very much worth living right now.  With the appealing combination of never-ending smile and incredible long putting, Dietrich sits atop the Beaver State Fling leader board with a gaudy five-throw lead over Nikko Locastro going into today's final round at the awe-inspiring Milo McIver State Park's East Course.
