The 10' foot deep putt was just as good as the 10' short putt that everyone seemed to want... :)

lets get one thing straight, those are not wild flowers they are weeds. and how do you go OB 4 times on one simple hyzer hole?
you drill it straight out over the flowers and watch it hyzer out, but fall 2-3 meters short of safety.
then you walk up to the edge of the flower line in front of the pad and repeat exact same scenario.
then you grab another disc and repeat exact same scenario again.
then you grab another disc and (wisely) throw a higher line. then you watch it come into the safe area at a shrp angle, catch an edge and get some legs, roll across the sidewalk in safe grass left of sidewalk, roll back onto the sidewalk, do a couple spirals and come to rest with just about 2mm concrete between the edge of your disc and the grass.
(oh yeah... then you trapse thru the flowers we were supposed to stay out of for 5 minutes trying to find all your lost plastic. then proceed to throw short on the following 200 foot hole and end up OB in the flowers. :D)
wasnt me... i just got to enjoy the carnage from my vantage point on the same card.

No worries mate. I was just making a point for everyone. Glad you had a good time on your home course.
Thanks Gary for getting the results posted so quick. I think I made a mistake on the Adv Masters payout, it doesn't look right. I will check it tonight and take care of whatever is needed.

Chris Jason, Ginetta, Great job at the Vet. I love Tx. 10 events but man do I suck at them. I think it was the whole thing of having to be nice to Ginetta all day. There's a sweet Orc of mine in those weeds somewhere. I was on the card with the 4 obs. Tough hole for the guy.
That was Jason's cooler?
Yes I'm sure they are talking about Terrill. He may have had the worst score for any one hole for the day :(, but he also was the one who had the best score on any hole for the day with his ACE on #9 :).

Barb, there was also another multiple circle 10 on another card, but it was followed by three 7's....guess that guy had enough
Jason, I'll be sure and let Terrill know he wasn't alone with his 10. Hitting the ace helped ease the pain.

The beer theft didn't bother me until the last guy. When I pulled up he was putting 2 beers out of my cooler into his bag and then grabbed another one. When I informed him it was my cooler he said "really" then opened the beer in his hand. He then says (after taking a drink) "Well I would give you a dollar, but it's not worth it" starts laughing and walks off! I was so shocked by someone being that much of an arse that I couldn't even respond. I didn't play because it is way too much for me to staff in the capacity that I did and still go play....My bad rounds are even worse ( if that's possible) at that point. For results go to texas10tour.com (http://texas10tour.com) and click on results and then select Arlington. I still have a few buckets in the garage, but I think I have made arrangements with all of the owners for their safe return.....A case of beer might persuade me to open the door :D:D

One of the greatest Texas 10 Tours I have competed in to date ( and I actually placed) :D
What can you say about 185 players showing up for a 1 day tourney to support the Lance Armstrong Foundation, throw plastic around, chase it and throw it again, and enjoy the fellowship of their fellow players, friends and disc golfers.
1. Thanks to Nolan and Clayton for running the doubles and thanks to my partner for parking #18 for the win in MA2...Team OCDG is back on the path.
2. Nothing like seeing Mr. James cash In Pro, but I think it was even more amusing to see him debate if he wanted pizza for lunch. I am sure it was your first slice :D
3. Danny W. took 3rd for a tie in Pro-Masters and it was a pleasure to sit and shoot the breeze while the MA3's performed their belated shoot-out for 1st place. (Levi - why did you play NOV?...you beat us in AM at World Doubles)
4. Mr. Cox and Mr. Bender tie each other for 2nd, along with Atkinson in MA1. Just goes to show when you move up you can still compete and be called a bagger no matter what division you play (charles)...I'll be there next year.
5. McGough also continues to play up, despite that Nov ranking and only whooped me by 1 stroke if I had played Adv.
6. Savage was rolling on all of us in the AM division and the lefty was left with some righty holes in that playoff. Way to go either way Matt. You are continuing to increase your skills and lower those scores.
7. As for the card that had the most fun ever. Rotan, Murphy, Parker, Doing and Landis had the time of their lives that final round. I guess it was the 30 minute rain delay, but once we were back on that course, it was only fun. Competition was somewhat still there, but we were playing purely for the love of the game. Guys...I wish we could always play on a card, and we will have to hush for the cards 4 holes away while they are putting :o
8. Billy Simpson showed up for his 1st TX10 and his 1st tourney ever. The man has game and looked to be heading for a great final round, but found out that tourney play was different from casual rounds. Keep it up Billy...you will be whooping the MA2's in no time.
9. Kat still smoking the fields in Adv Women and will most likely be your year end champ in that division. With the 2 Benders hitting all 10 tournies, look out for them to win both of their divisions. Kat and Tony - always great to see you up here north of the Waco Border (almost Canada) :D
10. Of course Susan Jones and David for coming out and playing . The poor ladies were stuck out on #4 North when the storm hit and ran all the way to the big Pavillion by #7B. Always glad too see you both.
and last but not least:
Chris, Jason, Ginetta, all who loaned baskets, time, effort or anything else, thanks for the great time. Chris said it during the finals: If we can get more staff and volunteers, we could probably keep growing the entire field. Imagine a non-sanctioned, charity event on 2 course that has almost 500 people.
IT COULD HAPPEN - donate whatever you can to this tour.
Thanks to all...See you in Waco!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:p

ummm, I'm sure Gary will jump on the bonus point thing... but I'm pretty sure that (after it being explained to me, nay, hammered into my skull) bonus points are cross-divisional this year. We're not competing for division titles like last year. We're accumulating total points which will be put towards a voucher for plastic. That way more people can share in the love, not just one per division. I'll dig up Gary's quote if necessary. Anyway, what I'm saying is MOVE UP! (so I can place higher in MA2)

Jun 22 2004, 12:58 PM
That is correct, you are competing across divisions.
Since I am sponsoring the prizes, I get to make it confusing.
Once you earn 125 points, you qualify for a disc, 200 for 2 discs, 250 for 4 discs.
Possible 225 points from TX10s (winning 9 events).
Possible 25 bonus points from attending 9 events.
Possible 50 bonus qualifier points from attending at least 5 BQ events.
I'll get the web page updated sometime soon.
okcacehole
Jun 22 2004, 01:12 PM
Bonus points vs. bonus payout...I meant payout...that will reflect in the year end event correct?
gnduke
Jun 22 2004, 01:26 PM
The bonus money is not related to the bonus points.
If you play in 4 or more of the first 9 events you are qualified for the bonus money at the finals.
After 4 years, people still get bonus payout and bonus points confused.
Maybe its the use of the word bonus.
Chris, think about renaming one of them. Like "Bonus Payout and Way Cool Points," or "Bonus Points and F'n Sweet Payout."
:D:D:D:D
(then again, it might just be Adam, he's easily confused)
okcacehole
Jun 22 2004, 01:42 PM
That is what I thought...I wont be worried about the bonus points, it is the bonus money and that doesn't go from division to division correct?
baldguy
Jun 22 2004, 01:45 PM
not true... once you have played in 4 of the first 9, regardless of what division you played, you are qualified for the bonus. After that, it's all about how you place in the final.
See? Easily confused, just like I said.
gnduke
Jun 22 2004, 01:51 PM
Well, it's kinda like that.
The bonus money raised from each division stays within that division.
The added bonus money is spread across the divisions. Don't know how it will be split-up, not my job.
I don't think you can compete for bonus cash on both days (unless maybe you played 4 events an AM and 4 events as a Pro).

Jun 23 2004, 03:47 PM
I told you, I'm skeered.
I have things that have to be attended to on Saturday.
No other good options.
Come on over to the house sometime and we can hit the football field, or if that is not big enough for you, there is a large park across the road.
I'll even break out the speed gun and you can see how slow you throw.
baldguy
Jun 23 2004, 03:57 PM
it's not all about speed, brotha. anyway, a football field is not nearly enough! include the endzones and you get 360 ft... find some place that has 2 fields end-to-end. like a highschool practice field. then you can really rip off a few drives
gnduke
Jun 23 2004, 04:01 PM
360' end zone to end zone,
about 410' from end zone to Track.
500' from track to track.
I need to measure the distance from street to trees, but guess a little over 600'
I think your drives will fit.
baldguy
Jun 23 2004, 04:17 PM
ok, I'm down. Deidre's going to be out of town for a few days, so what better way to pass the time than disc golf? might as well see how far i can throw.

when ?
Finally feeling a little more like myself after that weekend.
Had a great time in Arlington. Didn't care too much about sitting by the metal fence on #4 when the lightning struck but other than that it was great. The guys under the pavillion were a lot of fun to hang out with during the break. Thanks for the shirt, Joe.
Laura, Darlene, Deidre..Good playing with you. Deidre your game has come along so well. I'm so proud of you. See you all in WACO!
WACO! Man I'm excited. This will be my very first time to play those courses. Perhaps maybe I should make a trip to practice once before the weekend.
Ginetta, Chris, and Jason..Thanks for all you do. Love to your all.
hehe my scores have been really sucking lately. Don't let that fool you ;)
Yes, by all means, let's not be fooled by the fact that your scores suck. Scores are such a bad indicator of true golf skill anyway, right?
baldguy
Jun 23 2004, 05:10 PM
right.
Well then, it stands to reason that I am a MUCH better golfer than my scores indicate. Right?
And Diedre, you should be ashamed. After I offered to give you a mid range and some helpful advice on the Beast and you go and turn on me like that. Tsk, tsk, tsk. ;)

hehe my scores have been really sucking lately. Don't let that fool you ;)
I of course vary the distance of my drives based on the hole, but I can get close to 500' if necessary. Anything under 300' and wide open, I usually throw my putter
and not to be confused with being on Atwoods side, :obut maybe instead of bragging about your drives, you should address your short game. :DMaybe you and Atwood should get togather and practice!! You can teach him to throw 500' in the wrong direction and he can teach you to putt until it goes in!! :D :D
Is it Waco time yet??

Josh - I want to see these 500ft crushes...missed them at Audobon :o
That's it Watts, you're now on my list! :)
Its a long list, but after Waco, it will have some fun names on it. Let's see, I've beaten Frankie Poo out there, the Famous Wimp...who else? I'll have to go back and look. Although this year's Waco Charity was kind of wheels off, my ZT10's there in the past haven't been too bad. Well, most of them anyway. :)
I'm sure Himing will correct me.

I'm up for an OMB challenge in Waco on Sunday. We could play while the apes and rednecks are doing their love fest. With all the smack talk going on though, there needs to be some kind of bet, even if it's just a disc entry for each OMB. I can always use more practice on the BEAST. :D
baldguy
Jun 23 2004, 05:27 PM
yeah, yeah, yeah. I wasn't bragging at all. read back a few posts before you start on the schmack. BamBam bragged about outdriving me, and I responded... do your homework!
Adam, hopefully there are some longer holes in Denton and I can open up a bit. usually, I throw about 80% during a round, so even if it's a 500' hole, I won't likely go for the green, just because at 100% I'm not as accurate. If you wanna come out with me and Gary and crush some, you're more than welcome :D

Sorry Josh, I was talking about Bam-Bam. I want revenge on him from last weekend. He kicked my butt. Just about everyone did. M.A. missed his chance to beat me for the first time. I never want to make his list. So, with that said, Gary, Frank,Ryan, Josh and any other OMB, WACO ON SUNDAY?

Jun 23 2004, 05:40 PM
You've never played the BEAST??? Wow, Susan, you are in for a treat! Lots of things to see...the most beautiful butterflies, the oddest looking beatles, the snakiest lizzards, along with a mouse, the biggest mound of ant hills, poison ivy, poison sumac, and poison oak. The back half of the Beast is like a rain forrest. I love it.
Old Cameron Park is great, too, with the water park to walk slloowwly through during a hot summer day of golf. We don't even need rain storms to cool us off.

YIKES!!! I stay off the board for a day, and everybody finds the "on" button on their smack engines! :p
Claydog, I'd love to be in Waco this weekend, but I have family stuff to attend to. Besides, I didn't really kick your butt this past weekend... you just had a rough second round, that's all. Heck, most of the OMB's didn't shoot well that second round.
Josh, anytime you find a spot big enough for your "chat board distance" drives, let me know. I have to echo Adam's Audobon comment here and add that I didn't see you busting out any big drives at the wide open Jaycee Park in Wichita Falls a few months back, either. But, in fairness, a tourney isn't the time to be throwing your biggest shots, anyway, it's about the scores.... but then again, I think we've already hammered you enough about those, too. :D
Besides, I've thrown over 550' before, in a tourney, with witnesses... one of them was Jaret Altom, my doubles partner (oh yeah, I was a Novice at the time, too :D) Didn't go anywhere near the basket we were throwing at, and I haven't done it since, so therefore I do not go around bragging that I can throw 500' - everyone rips a good one once in awhile, Josh... it's being able to do it when it counts.

Deidre, this is Ginger, I need to know how to put my name in. Anyway, In the parking lot at Cameron park there were guys selling discs, The first one I picked up was a purple Firebird with your name on it, I told them I knew you and after a few minutes they gave it to me. They said they do not return out of towners, if they are in the water they are theirs. That's how they do it where they are from. Where we are from we give anyones with a name back. I will give it to you in Waco,

Frank,Josh and all other ombs, looks like it would only be a couple of us on Sunday, and the front nine of the Beast is pulled. We'll have to make the challenge at the Z10 on the 10th. I'll sign up on Friday. Guess I'll have to shoot at the $750 acepot at the Vet. on Sunday.
Josh, I once crushed a Classic Roc 600', so don't be thinking you can outdrive me either. ;)

wow, so much to reply to :-)
Ginger, I don't think Deidre will be able to post for a few days, as she's in Oregon thru Sunday night. So, Thanks a million for getting her disc back. She had a run of bad luck there in waco and lost 3 or 4 discs. with the Firebird you found, and the viking that (so sorry I can't remember who :() found, she's in good shape. One of the spotters on hole 6 (BEast) found another of hers. Thanks again, guys.
Adam: I'm down for doubles. I'll open up my arm wherever I can :). Oh, and I live in Carrollton, about 3/4 mile from Greenbelt
Ryan: I tossed a few big rips at Jaycee in Wichita, but mostly I was throwing 80%. Yeah, my scores are so much worse in tournaments and I have no excuse for that... but I'm getting better. My tournament play is starting to catch up to my casual play. and, when it counts, i can throw far. it's not just an occasional accident. I did park regular #17 (435?) at the vet this weekend... without throwing hard. I also parked a few on #14 at bear creek last night (not sure how far that one is)
Claydog: my reply wasn't aimed at you, either :) FYI, I'm not an OMB, not for another 15 years, but for some reason the old guys like to razz me :) I figured we could unite against Atwood, not argue over drives :D
Mr. Watts: you and I have played together before, you know I have a big arm. and yes, I have blasted past hole #17 at the lake before... once I accidentally put a DX Valk under the big red sign (over the road behind the pin). yes, in the air
Frank: are you gonna come out to Plano this afternoon for a distance competition? it'll be fun.
ok, if I missed anyone please forgive me :). My smack-list is gettign to the point I can't keep up any more :D

No, Joe wasn't part of that, but I will see about talking him into it....I talked to him briefly last night and apparently him and Chris purchased a few grand worth of plastic at the store up there. They also are working on securing the pavillion at one park so we can have Boulevard Brewery as a sponsor.
Dolese is one beautiful course, that I have spent alot of time on, along with countless others. Especially Daryl Johnson, who put it in the ground. Will Rogers is the oldest in the city and a short Hyzer course, but it will increase the attendance overall and make for a challenging weekend.
I'll keep you posted on LOSO and I know Joe, Brian, Joey, Josh, and myself are coming to Waco for sure.
I am sure it will fill up.

I made it back across the border an hour ago. I had a fun time and got to see a few good courses. Look for good things in the coming months and next year from there. Due to contractual obligations I can not mention the name of any beer other than Ziegy on this thread.
Anyone want to buy these:
1983 Eagle from the Huntsville Worlds. Shuttle stamp.
Glow San Marino Roc
1994 Hame of Fame Disc
...lots more will be for sale in Iowa :D
MOre tomorrow when I wake up.
Thanks

Jun 25 2004, 12:17 AM
Our *zz was handed to us by Frank and Duke......I think we only had 3 CTP's....
there will be a repeat next week...come on..other players..the more the better (couldn't spell merrier :D)
What a great time and even a better after round chat in the parking lot...Our TX Marshall showed up to make sure we were all in compliance with all rules and standards :D
Guys...that was one of the best doubles rounds I have had the pleasure to enjoy...
Watts couldn't putt...I could only hit the left side of the chains...Josh had massive D, but not towards the goal..Frank learned how to nail some seriously deep putts..Gary was smooth...Billy showed us the new life in disc golf..and the pain insued...There will be a rematch :)

Jun 25 2004, 12:29 AM
Well we did let them have the box on one hole. Took us a few holes to get going.
I figured that Josh would be here already seeing how fast he left after it was over.
OMBs got 15 of 18 CTPs, but we only managed to get to -11.
The little rain shower might have had something to do with that. If I recall correctly, they only managed to get to -3.
Gary and Billy were -4 or -2, not sure. And Ray was even, but he missed a couple of birdie holes because he got there late.

Nice summary..and I wish it was fiction..but you are pretty much right :)
- 3's for both I believe..and your score...I didnt' think Mr Frank was going to putt, but after a few warm up holes..he showed he knows the course...and I thought I did...Duke parked a few nice thumbers and it was over..
There will be some more next weekend and if some more of you guys and gals have an interest..maybe some flip doubles..that or the OMB's must be hunted.. :D
Josh..tomorrow..a whole new game...w/o geritol, push carts and AARP Cards :D

Jun 27 2004, 03:10 PM
yeah, uhh... this is supposed to be a fun, smack-talking thing. no need to make it all serious by getting money involved. If you OMBs can handle the pressure of a competitive round of doubles, without needing a chance to make money, then let's do thursday at like 6:30
Ready for WACO! A little nervous about my first time at the BEAST. Sounds menacing.
Need a place to stay. Any good hotels near the course?
Again, ya'll have fun with the OMB/Younguns battle. Not sure who I should route for. My age says I should route for the younguns but the OMB's need all the help they can get. :DGood luck to all of you.

YungGuns-OldMasterBaggers ....what about a mix, a flip...or getting some more bodies out there...the traveling roadshow to a course near you...I'll try to bug some others for a good round..Playing some 51 and a few $$ a head is one thing...spend your $200 on plastic OMB's...

The bonus money from entries stays within the division you played.
The added bonus money gets split up across the divisions.
If this is like last year, You are only allowed to compete for the bonus money on one of the 2 days. I think Chris may make an exception if you actually play 4 events in AM and 4 events in Pro, but if you cash (even bonus cash) in Pro, you will be a PDGA Pro from then on.
