ATTENTION ALL CENTRAL TEXAS GOLFERS!
ROUND Rock has donated time to other clubs and sponsored many event. And now we need you alls help!
Rivery is having a work day this Saturday. I will leave it up to Ed to post a time. But I know I will be there around 8:00am. But I have a mission to make #8 the signature hole of the course.
There will be plenty to do on the rest of the course.
Things to keep in mind:
1.Its time for other than R&R member to do some work in WILL CO.
2. Bring tools....gloves, lopers, chain saws, weedeater and mowers.
3. A B.Q. will follow.
4. San Gaberial is cold and good for swimming.
5. And did I mention its time to see someone else than R&R members to help in WILL CO.

Thanks Vinnie. I am sure a bunch of people will show up. I am out for a couple of days this week but will have some info on the event posted soon.
This event will have a wide variety of holes from playing both courses. Let's just hope its not as hot as yesterday. I will also have a players list updated at the end of the week. Lots of entries coming in via Titledisc.
I doubt I will have a lunch deal on course as there are plenty of places to eat on the road between the 2 courses. It is a good 15 to 20 minute drive up Hwy 35 so I want to make sure everyone has a good lunch break and rest between rounds.
Hey Vinnie I forgot to ask how much money did Outlaws raise for the Lance Armstrong Foundation? Let me know and I will tell you what to do with the check.
More soon...
Thanks
Chris

Susan, I consider you a friend, so I'm gonna do you a favor. DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, EAT THAT DISGUSTING FOOD-LIKE ITEM THAT THE KNUCKLEHEADS DOWN UNDER CONSIDER TO BE THE THING THAT GOES ON TOAST - VEGEMITE!
The best use of vegemite ever has to be as a funny word in a line of a Men At Work song. Actually consuming it? High inadvisable.
I tried some of Chris' one time, and I wouldn't want anyone I know - even Nick - to go through that.
Think about the worst tasting and smelling beer you've ever imagined, take away the fun aspect of alcohol and carbonation, and then put it into a spreadable form. Voila, you now have vegemite.
For the love of all things pure and good, do not let him talk you into trying it.

Gday Everyone,
Only one more Ziegen Light Texas 10 event before we shoot for all the money and the huge $25,000 ace pot in Lewisville at the finals. Please find following a brief run down of the upcoming events going on before then. They include:
Rivery Park in Georgetown Work Day
ZT10 Round Rock / Georgetown
Twisted Flyer Open
Schule School Open
Lance Armstrong Foundation Weekend
ZT10 Finals in Lewisville
Innova INNcolor Discs
Rivery Park Work Day:
This Saturday, September 18 the Round Rock Disc Golf Club is hosting a cleanup and work day at the Rivery Course in Georgetown. This is a beautiful tight course on the banks of the river that we will be playing the ZT10 event at the following weekend. Come and join us as we trim and cleanup the course ready for a great event. Bring along any tools that you can get together and a pair of work gloves. A barbecue will follow and beer will be provided courtesy of who else but Ziegen Light. Work starts at 9am. More info at the PDGA discussion page.
ZT10 Round Rock / Georgetown:
Saturday, September 25 is the 9th and final qualifying event of this years tour. This year everyone will play one round at Round Rock and one round at Rivery Park in Georgetown. Dont miss your chance to play both these great courses in one day and get in one more event for your tour bonuses. All the HQ area will be setup at the new pavilion area of Round Rock near Hole 10.
Please make life easy for everyone and signup early at www.titledisc.com (http://www.titledisc.com) This year we are averaging 170 players per event so that means you cant be late.
Twisted Flyer Open:
I am heading north across the Red River for this big event on October 2 and 3. This will be a PDGA event held in Oklahoma City. All the info is posted at www.discgolfpromotions.com (http://www.discgolfpromotions.com) Everything is setup for a big Texas crowd to invade Oklahoma. Things on the Sunday will be wrapped up by around 3pm Sunday giving everyone a nice afternoon drive home. Check out the web link for info about the huge players party featuring two live bands and how you can enjoy a free limousine ride to the party. You can also enter at www.titledisc.com (http://www.titledisc.com) If you have ever wanted to play in Oklahoma City this is your chance. If you havent then you will be missing out on a very special event. If you didnt know Oklahoma City is just an easy 3 hours drive north of Dallas with a lot less traffic then heading south to the Austin area.
Schule School Open:
I hosted an event on the Ingleside course earlier this year and had a great time. Now you can go back to the beach and play this fun one day PDGA C-tier hosted by the 3rd Coast Disc Golf Club. The event is being held on Sunday, October 10 at the Ingleside Disc Golf Course which is the town right next to Corpus Christi. Go to the PDGA discussion page for more info. This is a tightly wooded course right near the beach and fishing areas of Port Lavaca, so make a weekend of it while the weather is still good.
LAF Ride for the Roses:
This is your chance to ride in the fight against cancer and join over 6000 other people in the Ride for the Roses weekend. Sunday, October 17 is the date for varying distances of fun rides around Austin. Due to us donating in excess of $35,000 this year alone to the LAF, we as disc golfers should be very proud of what has been accomplished and join in the many other fun activities on this weekend. Go to www.laf.org (http://www.laf.org) for all the news and info you need. I have given up playing the USDGC in Rock Hill to be in Austin that weekend in support of this great weekend of events in the fight against cancer. Check out the website to see what you can do.
ZT10 Finals in Lewisville:
Well what can I say but, dont miss this event. Be there as we try to make history as hopefully someone will hit the $25,000 Hole in One prize sponsored by USAutomatic. November 13 and 14 are the dates at the beautiful Lake Park Disc Golf Course in Lewisville. Go to www.titledisc.com (http://www.titledisc.com) now to enter. Keep an eye on the PDGA discussion page for news as it happens. Lets see what happens when over 300 disc golfers get together and have fun in our celebration of Texas 10 Disc Golf.
Innova INNcolor Discs:
The most beautiful full color discs you can find are now made by Innova by a new process call INNcolor. This is where the design covers the entire disc. The Ziegen Light Texas 10 Charity Tour has been given access to this process and we have designed 2 very different designs that will be available by late October. Dont miss your chance to get one of these beautiful discs.
Please remember my new website for all the information you need is Disc Golf Promotions.com www.discgolfpromotions.com (http://www.discgolfpromotions.com) and my new email is

Have a great week and I will see you all on the course soon.

Keep the entries coming as we all know what I think about late entries. Titledisc will likely close late Thursday night as usual. I will be at Rivery in Georgetown from 4:30 to 6:30pm Friday taking entries as well.
Have a look at the number of Am's already paid for the final. I suggest if you are an Am to enter asap. Hopefully someone will hit the $25,000 Hole in One. I know for a fact it won't be someone who procrastinates and waits until the last minute.

Due to the toughness of Rivery in Georgetown and the length of Round Rock I am not going to have a problem reducing the field size to suit. This will be the reward to those that enter early...a nice early finish.

Disco flash lite discs

Hey Chris, after looking at the sign ups can I move to Advanced from Adv. Masters? Looks like a small field in MM1. Thanks, Larry
I thought you were playing Pro Masters Larry. Ask yourself how many tournaments you have won in the last 2 years then get back with me.
As the final approaches it is time to get strict on people moving all over the place to get an easy win with the bonus money on the line.
PDGA ratings will be used as required for the PDGA final event so please enter in your correct division to start with.
Remember you can not move down to play the final just to win more cash or merch. (Unless your rating allows it)
Eg. If you play Open Pro all year then want to play Adv in the final. That is allowed by the PDGA but you will not be able to accept Adv bonus merch.
If you played Adv all year then move down to Int for the final. Again if your rating allows it fine but you will not get bonus merch.
If you have played Open Pro all year then want to play Pro Masters then that's fine but no bonus cash. I will not allow people to take advantage of the bonus fund and different size fields to line their pockets.
The reason for this is pure fairness to all players. That player has been getting bonus money accumulated in a higher division then drops to a division where he has not contributed into the bonus fund.
I am sure this will stir the pot but it has been the same all year.
Back to work.
Thanks
Chris

Parking will be the biggest issue at Rivery. There are 2 places to park as described below. Niether of them are right next to the course so please allow yourself plenty of time to get from your car to your hole.
Also the course is spread out and not that easy to follow if you have not played it before. Maps and directions will be available on Friday at Rivery and all day Saturday at Round Rock HQ.
The option for parking for the bigger trucks requires you drive down a dirt track that is rutted. Can some of the locals please park here as you know where it is. Please leave Option 1 area above the course to out of town players that don't know directions as well.
Directions Option 1: (Small trucks and cars to this area)
Exit 261A heading north
Stay on access over river
Do the turn around to head south
Cross river again
Take 1st right (to Home Depot)
Immediate right into dirt parking area
Cross gate and walk down road to course
Directions Option 2: (For bigger trucks)
Hwy 35 North Exit 261A
Right lane past KFC
1st right after KFC
1st right behind KFC
Follow dirt road to bottom
under I-35 bridge
Walk up path to course

FRI
Hi's around 86-88
Low's around 67-68
Chance of rain 30-33%
Sat :
Hi's around 84-86
Low's around 63-65
Chance of rain 40-45%
if it rains we better have some temp baskets for holes # 1 and 2 then drain like crap.

Ware you stick to weather forecast and I got the baskets. :D
I know you want to play #1 and get that birdie no one else will.
During the tourney we will play #2 first and then #1 to keep it flowing. If it rains hard enough # 18 will be toast also, but there is plenty more shule to make holes in.
Hope your trip went well.

Hey now...last weekend (the old States') weekend was beautiful and dry. Heh heh heh.... :D
Appreciate it, Mark. But I will have my best friends and my daughter with me. I think it'll be a little crowded. We'll just stop somewhere as soon as we hit RR. Hopefully, I'll be able to find the course in the morning.

I just found out that my awesome staff Jason and Ginetta Chamberlain can not make it to Round Rock tomorrow. If anyone would like to help put please call me.
The main thing I need right now is to have a someone with a cell phone that can collect the scorecards at Rivery then call them into me. Then just making sure there is plenty of ice and water on the course. The usual jobs of spotting, etc are always appreciated especially at Rivery.
Along with a handful of goodies I can give you, you will get points towards the bonus.
To sweeten the idea of working and not playing I will offer the person that takes care of Rivery for me this bonus. If you thought that because you have only played in 2 ZT10 events you don't qualify for the bonus payout I will make sure you do. Work for me tomorrow and you are qualified for the huge bonus payout (if you have played at least 2 events). Just think that could also be worth a $25,000 Hole in One :)
I hope to be in Rivery around 3pm putting out the tee signs for Saturday. I will be taking entries once I have done that around 4pm. I still have lots to do so will leave around 6:30pm. If you don't signup then be at Round Rock around 7:30am. I won't be in the mood to let people in late tomorrow, trust me. :D
Time to go and do what I do.
Thanks,
Chris

See you guys in Lewisville. I am signing up today. :D

You could be playing
You could be home wishing you were playing
You could be at work wishing you were playing
You could be at the hospital with a sick wife wishing she was better (and that you were playing) :(
I played the course wed. and it looked great. Everyone is having a great time if there is no rain :)
Gimp, I hope the wife is okay. I'll be keeping y'all in my thoughts.
Made it to Pflugerville, so glad to be sitting down.
A great day! That Rivery course is tight but good. I help clean out a few of those fairways by chopping down a couple thousand trees with my disc. :D
I would like to say thanks to all the girls that played with me today! Ya'll are awesome. I would like to say an extra special THANK YOU to my two caddies, my daughter Lindsay and my best friend Manuela. They were totally awesome. I'm a very lucky disc golfer to have that support system.

What a great weekend. I am now in Gainsville near the border of TX and OK. I will be in OKC by mid day tomorrow and will post my report on the ZT10 but for tonight I want to say a couple of things.
Mike Nelson my old friend and doubles partner you just built one of the best disc golf courses I have ever played. What a pleasant surprise to arrive today and play a round on Nelson's private 35 acre course. This course has everything and more. I plan on coming back here after OKC and taking some photos. He has a website being built but I want to show a few of the holes to everyone.
Oh and I almost forgot I just set the course record :p
I may just have to put this awesome course on my schedule for 2005.

Hi Jerry,
Thanks for being nice, and thanks for signing up for the final early. As for Randy if he had a problem he knows my number.
Here is what happened to some of the Pro's that cashed at the final last year. I was supposed to have the large Budweiser check to help cover the payout. It didn't arrive in time so I paid out those I could (mostly out of towners and people who were deserate for the money). Those people I know and would understand after I explained the situation were sent checks after the event. As things turned out the TABC had legal issues with the money from Budwesier so ALL the sponsorship money was sent to the LAF. I had to come up with the balance (big amount) myself.
Obviuosly this was not the situation I wanted to happen but it was unavoidable. When the TABC stop Budweiser from paying me there is not much I can do.
This year I have no checks to wait on as it's all in the bank. I look forward to a fun event and alot of money being paid out.
The $25,000 Hole in One will (Joe says it will be hit my him) be paid on verification of the video footage and tax payments made. That money will come from the insurance company.
As I always say if people have a problem with anything I do just call me. I have an open book policy and have no secrets. Those people that spread rumors when they don't know what they are talking about hurt everyone involved. Karma will meet them at some point.
I am now in OKC. I have a few things to do today before I get back online and post more info about lots more things.
Thanks
Chris

The results have been sent to Gary but there are for some weird reason a few errors I couldn't fix. I will try to work with Gary tomorrow to sort them out.
Getting these results done is taking longer than normal as now we have all 9 events done we are working on getting all the stats done to work out the payouts, bonus winners etc. Imagine keeping scores for 1400 people in 9 events in 10 different divisions? It is a huge amount of work. If it was for not Gary none of the computer scoring would be possible.
Next year due to the time restraints and a few big ideas I have I may for go the bonus points etc and just focus on raising more money.
The news of Saturday was that Mike Olse came from I think the second card to win by a stroke over Justin Kerr after I had congratulated Justin on the win.
Erron Salazar won $212 in the ace pot throw off as no aces were hit. Normally the ace pot would carry over but since we are having a $25,000 Hole in One I thought that would be enough.
Even though I am working hard and long hours in Oklahoma I am always thinking about ways to further Texas 10. Over pizza and a cold drink tonight I got a couple of ripper ideas, which I can't wait to start work on.
Back soon,
Chris

I am not sure what he means by errors. I didn't see anything that looked like an error so the scores I received are posted on the Zeigen Light Texas 10 Tour results page (http://www.texas10tour.com/results.php) .
Check out the stats page to see if you qualified for a free disc (above 125 points) or 2 discs (above 200 points).
The list of bonus cash qualified players (4 or more of the first 9 events) is also listed.
Gary in pro Masters Alex Hughes shot a 114 overall. He threw what we all thought was ob on hole 3. (sidewalk and beyond)it was later found out other cards did not play this as ob. but Alex did not play a provisional so then threw from the wrong lie. Alex gave me the money difference, so all is good with me. But in fairness to Jay Bitner (points race) the correct results should be used!
Great comeback El Chile! Hard to beat this man on his home turf! That was a beautiful finish! Thanks for all the hard work Chris and Gary!

correction to nine lives that was hole # 2 that has OB sidewalk. Why this was not considered OB I am unsure since we play it OB ALL THE TIME AT THE ROCK.
james_mccaine
Sep 28 2004, 10:02 AM
If this is hole#2, that sucks. Is this a two-stroke penalty? I'm sure Alex is not complaining, but this is a good example of why a TD should be able to step in and apply human judgement rather than look to rules that may not have been written for that situation. Two strokes is way too much in this instance, especially for an honest mistake.
seewhere
Sep 28 2004, 10:05 AM
its hole 2. the sidewalk on the right side that runs past the basket is ALWAYS OB.
james_mccaine
Sep 28 2004, 10:13 AM
Yea, well that sucks then. He is just playing the course like it is always played, in an honest manner. It just bothers me when these things happen. It seems like the rules only allow for the punishment to be borne by the player, and in instead should allow the TD some latitude to say "It was partially my fault" and reduce the penalty on the player.

Sep 28 2004, 10:59 AM
No one here (Alex or Dale) tried to take any advantage from what happened. I was giving Alex the benefit of the doubt because I did not announce or have listed the OB on hole #2. Larry Thompson in that same round called me and asked. I told him since I didn't call it and I had a lot of out of towners playing it was not OB beyond the path.
After the round I did the scores and Alex explained the situation. I removed the stroke from Alex to give him a 3 for the hole instead of an OB 4.
Then Dale tells me that Alex should be stroke for playing the wrong lie (playing from OB). I told him I had already done the results and shut down the computer.
From my view I was giving Alex the benefit of the doubt. Both Alex and Dale were open and honest with the outcome.
Alex emailed me yesterday and confirmed he should be penalised. Thanks to both these guys for there sportsmanship and honesty. It makes a TD's life a little easier.
I will let Gary know to add the 2 strokes to Alex's score and therefore have Dale finish in solo 2nd. The payout was already handled by the 2 guys on the day.
See how some things are all "no worries" when they are explained. It's when people jump to all the wrong conclusions under the sun we have problems.
Time to unpack the Thunder and get it ready for Saturday.
Back later this afternoon and I had better not find a bunch or rules talk. This situation is done :D
Thanks again to both Alex and Dale.

Mr. ninelives, thank you for bringing this O.B. ruling up. :oAs we discussed at the time, there was an error caused by miscommunication during a very busy time for the TD. Here are some of the results of the points race.
Kat Bender wins overall with 244.33 points. Not sure what Chris is planning for the overall winner.
4 players made it to 200 points and will receive 2 candy discs each at the finals (you must be present to get them, but you don't have to play)
34 players made it above 125 points and will receive 1 candy disc.
7 players attneded all 9 events and will recieve a bonus 2 discs for playing.
Strange as it sounds, only 2 players made it to 8 events, and both of them (DQ and Ariona Lisle) get 1 disc.
That's about $900 in plastic as a Thank You for playing.
Top finishers in discs
Kat Bender 4 [$60] (>200 & 9 events)
Tony Bender 4 [$60] (>200 & 9 events)
Don Rusaw 4 [$60] (>200 & 9 events)

Laura Quattlebaum 3 [$45} (>125 & 9 events)
Jeff Harcourt 3 [$45] (>125 & 9 events)

I wouldn't count on any help with that one...he could let you buy points for like 125/$15 = 8.33 points/$1, but that would get too complicated. And if you ask since you were that close, it's like asking a hard-nosed professor to give you an A when you missed it by one question. That happened to me a good 4-5 times, and only once did a prof change it.
Chris doesn't make many exceptions, and honestly with as many golfers as he deals with, this is a noble thing to do...you've got to draw the line somewhere to make it fair. It sucks being that close, but don't get mad at Chris if he says he can't do anything about it. Just focus on kicking @$$ at the finals and taking home some mad tour bonus payout!

As you all know I am slaving away in OKC right now. I am trying to find time to put together all the payout amounts but am not having much luck. I will keep trying. Whatever the amount will be it is bigger than anything else around. :D
Time to get back to work and go collect some more sponsor stuff for this weekend. If you all want a fun weekend just 3 hours north of Dallas come her to OKC. I will buy everyone a beer or two. :D

Did anyone hear that Juli hit her first ace last week. It was during a casual round at Bear Creek, but I think she's ready for for a big money ace.
Come on Jay, come on Jui, come on someone. Someone is going to hit it this year, I feel it. :)

CHRIS HIMING,
My Dad paid extra for the round rock tourney just to make sure I got in because he couldnt get a hold of you before the event so he went ahead and paid again to make sure I was entered. Now he has one more crdeit to his name for entry fees. Can I use that credit towards my am. day Final. I also plan on paying for the Pro day aswell. Please let me know if this is cool.

i played LL Woods for the first time in a long time today. just wanted to let those that care know that a couple of holes are being impacted by some road construction. holes #6 and #7 have construction very near the basket...the normal OB fence is in the middle of the construction area (that road is totally closed now) and there is an orange construction fence set up in the fairway, only about 2 or 3 feet away from the baskets on both holes. it's pretty ugly and really affects the play of the holes. it looks like they are redoing that whole bridge/culvert near the basket of #7...the long tee for #8 is also either gone or has construction vehicles parked on it.
dont know how this will affect the play of the tournament, but thought i'd post it, fyi.

That was a mistake that Chris could not do anything about until later. If he had not have paid the golfers their money, AND also promised this year to be very different, then I could see where people would have some issues with Chris. But for now let the man do what he does best, and that is put togather Kick ***** tournaments. If IOUs are given out this year and the problem was not corrected, then someone else should try and do what he does for our sport and see if they can do any better. YA know what Im sayin guys!! :D
Until then Lets sit back , relax, and enjoy the show , and get off his back until he does'nt upgrade the tourney to benefit us (and Lance!!) :)

It is sanctioned. It is 1 day for the Am field and 1 day for the Pro field and its full when you say so.
Due to the popularity of Texas 10 events we reserve to right to limit the field size at each event depending on course conditions. Keep watching this website for updates.

Chris,
you stated earlier that the final is full, which I'm assuming was a joke at the time. The website says there are only 74 Ams and 25 Pros signed up as of now. Maybe a post of encouragement to "Get your butt signed up; it's only a month away!" would be in order.
Is there anyway to post what the bonus payout will be like? Maybe what each division will be allocated? That would be fun to drool over...

Okay this is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. No sarcasm or jokes here, as obviously people don't understand me that much anyway.
1) The final is not full
2) An updated list of players may be done in a few days
3) There are over 100 ams paid for which means less than 80 spots left in Am. I will warn everyone once it gets close.
4) The Pro day is slow as usual with only around 30 paid for
5) No entries will be accepted on the Friday before the event even if there is room
6) It is sanctioned as a B-tier
7) Barry Shultz is playing
8) The $25,000 Hole in One is free to all players. The $5 ace pot is for the regular ace pot for all holes.
9) The $10,000 added to the bonus money will be split in a manner I will announce next week.
10) Payout percentages will be deeper for the Rec and Int divisions than normal.
11) Look for a $$$ surprise from me come Saturday morning
12) Payout as always will be pick your own
13) Am's will have until Sunday lunch to collect payout
14) Am's will have until lunch Saturday to enter as a Pro for Sunday
15) Food and drinks will be available on course. I haven't done a deal yet however.
16) A hotel deal is coming soon.
17) Susan Jones will eat vegemite in front of everyone
18) Don't believe anything unless it comes from me
19) If you believe everything you hear from others and not me then it's time for you to........
20) I am not buying an island in Australia
That should keep you all busy for a while.
Thanks
Chris
