well, i look too young, but that hasn't stopped me before. :)

in fact, people see the guys i play with and ask what i'm doing in that old guy division.

i usually tell 'em i'm trying to help bring up the physical appearance curve of the OMB crowd. awfully generous of me, i'd say. not mention, hard work, what with frank around and all. :)

Okay here is an updated paid players list. Very quite so far. I guess these are the people that want a share of the $10,000 added to the bonus :)

Don't forget I will be making the Big Announcement at the players meeting that will likely make most people smile with delight.

Get those entries in and lets have a huge year.

Thanks

i'm getting all tingly just thinking about seeing my sweethearts like frankiepoo and scduke and sandaltoes. maybe weenie arm mcdaniel, jaybaby dixon and mr. shannon nintzel too. can't forget about john "i bagged in rec 'cause i wanna be like atwood" welsh, 9-lives hemmeline, larry "yes I'm still baggin'" thompson, wimpy, lalaloyd and the famous donQ. :)

actually, i'm looking forward to seeing all the old farts i've missed playing with over the last year plus the new members of the OMB club.

your whipping boy has returned. but this time, i'll be administering the whoopings. :)

see ya at #1 fellas! :D

I have had several people tell me I entered in rec,NOT TRUE!.... I met John Welsh (diffferent guy) on Sunday after our division played on Saturday as I was collecting my $419.00 worth of plastic from Chris for winning the OMB final thankyouverymuch......see ya in L ville!

Please spread the word there are plenty of spots left so don't think you missed out just yet.

Okay boys and girls, its now time to start focusing on the kick-off to a brand spanking new year (and a brand spanking new beer) of the best (a.k.a. most fun) tour going.

I'm coming to exact some vengence on the Lake course as well as all my OMB brethren who jacked with me all last year for taking their whipping boy and sure-fire DFL bet away from them in '03.

Which MM1 fossils are showing up? Who's the guy to beat in Open? Will this continue to be one of the largest ladies field draws going? Will other Rec baggers follow my lead? Can Chris handle back to back events? Will Frank Dorsett have too much Goldschlager on Friday night? Will #3 at the Lake finally be aced, when there isn't $10k on the line? What's Thunder got up his sleeve? Will Chaz Cox whoop TBender in MA1, 2 weeks in a row?

The modest answer is that everyone has a good chance on the Lewisville courses. Every Open player should be within 50' on about 15 of the holes at the Lake. So, it just comes down to who makes the putts.

The message board answer is................ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

not to change the subject.... but this year do we have the same rules about qualifying for the bonus cash at the final? i.e. if one staffs an event instead of playing, does that count towards the "first four" to qualify? I have a friend that won't be able to play but would like to volunteer this weekend. Is it too late to volunteer? Also, when will the bonus point events (outside of ZT10) be posted? I'm trying to plan out my tournaments for the next few months and I want to play those that support ZT10 and Lance.

I will say there is plenty of places left for Saturday. It will be a great start to the Texas 10 year I promise. Don't forget that BIG announcement.

I will be doing pick your partner doubles at the Lake Park course with a flex start from 2-4:30pm on Friday.

Here you go everyone. We now have 103 paid entries. Please keep the entries coming. I expect to close Titledisc on Thursday night. I will post an upadted list then and continue to take entries in the park on Friday afternoon and at doubles. Or until the event fills. As always do not believe it is full unless it comes from me.

If anything is wrong on this list please let me know.

It was my new secret sorting program.

I am working on a new surprise for Saturday.

We will be doing doing a similar thing as we did in November to give away an Innova Discatcher Portable Basket. $1 a throw at a 150-200 foot ace run. Winner gets the basket. The money goes to Lance. If no one hits the basket it will be saved until the final and given away then. Should be fun.

Feb 24 2004, 07:45 PM

Subject: ZT10 Lewisville Confirmation

Hello,

Thank you for your entry to the first event of the 2004 ZT10 tour in Lewisville. Due to your PDGA player rating the event organizers would advise you to play in the Recreational Womens division (FW3). If you would like to make this change please let us know.

Most of the info and formats are the same as in the past which includes the players meetings starting at 8:30am at the Lake Course.

Make sure you are there for the players meeting for the Big Announcement I have planned. It will be fun.

The hotel host for this event is:
Baymont Inn and Suites
$49 per night/ up to 4 people
Ph. 972-459-8000
Mention Texas 10 to get the special rate.

Everyone that stayed there last year loved it. It is a very new hotel with many restaurants in the area.

Lunch will be available at the course. It is expected to be BBQ supplied by Sneaky Petes.

A players party will also be held at Sneaky Petes Bar and Restaurant after the event. It is a great fun place just a couple of miles up the road on the lake. I will hand out more info and maps in Lewisville.

For those of you that have paid for mulligans please see me on the day and I will refund that money. We will not be doing mulligans at Texas 10.

Dont forget that the event on March 20 in Wichita Falls will be followed on the Sunday by a PDGA B-tier event with $500 added to Open Pros and all Ams get a players pack plsu 100% payout. Details on that event soon. Lets make a fun weekend of it and play both events in Wichita Falls.

If you have any more questions please just email me and let me know.

Yours in Flight,
Chris

Pretty sure points will accumulate by division like last year, with some provision for taking some percentage of points to a higher division. The final does not count into the points race.

Looking at the list of MA2 players, I'd say a bunch of them are bagging...errrr...playing down...errr....ah hell...there's no polite way to say it...bagging down in the Intermediate bracket.

Hope Bender and Cox kick in some teeth in the Advanced div., if for no other reason than they had the cajones to move up when their game and good sportmanship dictates it...if not necessarily their ratings.

Here is another player update for those that need to know. We currently have about 130 paid players. The field will be capped at around 180. Please do not expect to enter on Saturday morning. I do expect to take many entries in the park on Friday afternoon. I will have someone post here if and when it does fill. In the mean time simple go to www.titledisc.com (http://www.titledisc.com) and enter. That method will close late Thursday night even if the event is not full to give me time to process the entries.

Just a few notes on the people that are playing up a division for the non-sanctioned part of the events.

- you must play the majority of your events in the division you intend to play at the final sanctioned event, if you want to get the bonus money.
- if you play 3 events in Pro, and 2 advanced, then play the final event in Adv you will not be eligible for Adv bonus money. You will be eligible for Pro bonus money.
- if you play 5 events total with 3 in Adv and 2 in Pro you will be able to get Adv bonus money.

If anyone has any questions on this please just ask.

Here's the update list.

Chris,

Is there going to an ace pot? When I signed up through titledisc it didn't give the option to pay for the ace pot. Did I miss it or can I pay the day of for the ace pot. $5?

Feb 25 2004, 01:14 PM
Hey mate, maybe you should just post this link (http://www.texas10tour.com/faq.htm) as your signature. :D

Although the FAQ isn't quite clear on this, I believe the Ace Pot has always been covered by your entry. Of course, aces aren't something I usually have to worry about, so I could be mistaken. :)

Since this is a local event, maybe the locals who often post can answer this question-- I've heard there's a night golf mini at bear creek on Wednesdays. Any info about this as far as entry, time, divisions offered, etc. would be appreciated. See yall on Saturday if not Friday afternoon.

My Bad,

titledisc spells it out. $2 of your entry goes to the ace pot. I guess it helps to read huh? Well, I look forward to seeing all those familiar faces this weekend. As far as the aces are concerned I can relate. Never hit one. Although,I did come out of the chains on #18 at lake park last Sunday. I have sad news today. At the young age of 36 my only close cousin back in Australia past away yesterday from severe breast cancer that simple over took her. Liane was a physical education teacher that always enjoyed knowing what I was doing with disc golf. She past away with her new husband and parents with her, at her new home. It's times like these that I feel a long way from home. Liane I will miss you.

It just strengthens my commitment to rasie money to fight cancer and support the Lance Armstrong Foundation.

In honor of my cousin Liane and all of our loved one's that have died from cancer I would like to have a minutes silence on Saturday's morning, just as a little reminder of what we can be thankfull for in the cause we support in fighting cancer while we all enjoy ourselves doing the sport we love.

Thanks
Chris

Chris,

My deepest sympathy to you and your family.

Like many other disc golfers, I've also lost family and loved ones to cancer. Which is all the more reason I feel strongly about the wonderful good that you are doing with the Charity tour.

Keep fighting the good fight, Chris. Thanks for all that you do for disc golf and the Lance Armstrong Foundation.

Chris,

I am sorry to hear about your cousin. You are in our prayers. Dan has also had family that has passed and his father had part of his lung removed.

On a lighter note, Dan can't play this weekend because he hurt his arm by either hyperextending it or rupturing a tendon, we don't know which yet. I may be there, I am making sure the finances will allow with so many tournments coming up!

Where is the normal crown of Advanced Women??? I have to play Pro this year so who is going to join me besides Juli??? :D

I know there generally is night golf doubles @ McKinney on Wednesday nights, weather permitting. 1 division, $5 entry ($1 goes to NTDGC for course improvement, etc.), Ace Pot ($1 for NTDGC members, $2 nonmembers) Starts at 6pm

After an emotional day I am getting back into the swing of things and will make Liane and my family proud this weekend.

Titledisc will close tomorrow night so get in now while you can. If not be at Lake Park Friday afternoon to enter.

My vote is for sidewalk and beyond o.b. at LL Woods. /msgboard/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Feb 26 2004, 10:21 AM
It won't help ya Dog. I've got a leash for you that looks a lot like a D-Wasp. :D

Sidewalks and beyond at LL turn that into a much different course. Especially if the wind is a' blowin'. I don't think its bad, but imho, the sidewalks are just too ridiculously close to a few of the baskets to be truly fair. In some instances, great shots that are within 20' can be O.B.. Just something to think about.

Mr Welch's love of LL Woods is back for 2004 :) Here's an idea John, you TD this Saturday and I will play, I need the practise for Waco next week.

In the 9 different city locations in 2004 we will have a very wide variety of courses, both long and short, tight and open. Something out there should appeal to everyone.

Brian Cox I will never gaurantee I will let people in before a certain time. Last time I did that I had 259 people desend on me in Waco. Be at the Lake as early as you can Friday afternoon and you should be fine. You could always call me with a credit card number.

Lots of new discs etc for this weekend. The full color stamps look great on both Innova and Discraft plastic. I also have a good stock of QUAD SHOCKS.

I am heading out to put all the new stock of Orc's in the Thunder and will check in again soon.

Thanks

On that note, I'd like to say that we're awfully proud of young Mr. Bender. No graduate of MASB&FP U has more proudly represented our school than has he. Whether playing in his more appropriately rated division of MA2 or chasing the elusive dream of being more like his idols in MA1. Mr. Bender has consistently displayed the dedication to back and forth putting that we at MASB&FP U try to instill in our charges as we send them out into the fiercely competitive Disc Golf tournament scene.

Bravo, Mr. Bender, you're a shining example of the bravery and bravado it takes to be an MASB&FP U grad.

Where did John say anything about Veterans being a pp course? His comment was about LL woods and the Lake course in Lewisville.
As for the ob situation this weekend, I will have a great time regardless of the set up. I just think there is more risk/reward by making sidewalks and beyond out of bounds at LL. If there is a big field or bad weather, it does tend to slow things down a bit.

Some of this stuff may already be answered elsewhere in the thread, but i wouldn't know where to start. So forgive me if i am asking stupid or old questions.
1) Are the open players playing the long tees at LL? Which holes have long tees?
2)Is it OB on and across at LL, or just OB on?
3)What is the entry fee for doubles? What percent are you paying out? (I recently had a bad experience with a terrible doubles payout and I would like to ensure that if we cash it is worth the drive. )
4)Does Kid Roc do anything besides post on this board?

You will have to get the response on long pads and ob's from Chris...a few others have been asking about the sidewalk and beyond on LL, but no response yet

If you have ever had a chance to play a TX10 event, you will find the payout more than ample. Not sure on cash vs. plastic for the doubles, but I would sure hope $$$$$

Hi guys. There was a good reason I have been missing in action all afternoon, I am now in Lewisville. The Thunder drove north tonight instead of getting up early tomorrow. I have scheduled a couple of meetings in the morning which will work out well. I will also pick up the beer!

I am now at the Baymont Inn and Suites. This place is awesome. Certainly the best $49 hotel I have ever seen. I was even given the Presedential Suite upgrade. I think we should do the players meeting at my suite, we would almost have room.

I will try to answer some of Dixon's questions.

- Advanced Men, Advanced Master, Open Pro, Master Pro and GM Pro will all play original tees but with path and beyond OB.
- All other divisions will play original tees with only landing on the path as OB.
- With 170 plus players we don't need any major holdups. We can't have the ###### girls waiting.
- Doubles is $10 per person entry. 100% payout in all divisions. Cash to Pro and plastic to Am's. Dixon we need to speak about your recent payout problem. Why would doubles or any other event for that matter not be 100%?
- Kid Roc must have a real job that makes him work 100 hours per week. If you didn't you would think he would be a better player than he is and thinks he is. :)

I have free high speed access in the hotel so if anyone has any questions please just ask. I will be leaving to my first meeting about 10am and should be in the park around 1pm.

Chris,

Is the event full? I've had a change of work plans and I will still be in Texas. I will be in the Lewisville area visiting family this weekend and would love to join all the fun, again (I had a great time in Victoria). -Kevin

the problem dixon was talking about was when me and him tied for first in doubles out there when there was 28 teams and they pain out 14 of them, and to say the least we were not to happy about it.

Even though this tourney is not sanctioned, you cant play in a division lower than your rating, right?

Feb 27 2004, 10:16 AM
Well, ZLT10 has ratings of their own to go by. :) But yeah, you could do that, but you'd catch a Z-Cat to the temple. :)

Ah, great day! I'm stoked. I can't wait to leave tonight and see all you folks in the morning. ZLT10 '04 #1. WooHoo!!!

We hold true to PDGA ratings which is only fair. Trust me even if you did play a division below your rating the peer pressure would kill you :)

Don't worry about doubles guys. Pro will pay about 30% and Am's about 35% of the field.

If anybody has a truck that could pick up the beer in Denton with me around 11am please call me at 512-289-2299. I can meet you at the Lake then go to Denton. It's worth a six pack.

Here's some good news for the 24 Hour Marathon in June. The PDGA board of directors gave me unanimous approval to run the event with the backing of the PDGA. The events will not be PDGA sanctioned but they will help me promote it.

Back to a new sponsor proposal.

these recrational players that are shooting pro scores make me sick, if you can keep up with the big boys then why not play with them to. as far as i am concerned a win in rec is not a win at all. :D

AWESOME - wonder if we will be able to beat the record in the Nation for the biggest MA2 field of last year, which was set at the Finals.

Weather is going to be good - looking like low 60's and windy.

Come on Bender - I just didn't want to play with Charlene anymore :D

A one day, unsanctioned tourney that brings in 170, 180 (can't remember) people and fills. That is great!

Keep of the good work Chris
