Thanks for a great weekend Chris. Had a blast. You did a great job with the courses, and making sure that we all had fun.
Big props to Chris for having PLENTY of COOL WATER on the course.
I agree!!! Great job on the water I do not think I could have made it without it... Seriously.
I was miserable the 2nd round and I was aware of what it was going to play like based on past experience. I would like to apologize to my card mates during the round for not wearing a shirt (Actually I would like to apologize to anyone who had to witness me without a shirt lmao :D). This is the first competitive round I have EVER done that in and frankly, it was the only option if I was going to play. Heat stroking out was not an option that I was willing accept in order to forge through that round.
Great job on a fun 2nd course local crew!
Gimp, apology accepted. :D
I still want to hear about the ripped shorts incident that happened to you Mark? I did not know it was that kind of park.
LMAO!
It was too funny. I've finally discovered that ripping your shorts is the secret to good putting. :)
I was really struggling, and finally had a good birdie opp with 5 holes to play. As I bent down in my straddle to let my putt go, I heard a big "rip" as I let the Challenger fly. Bam, 25' dead straight to the basket. I reached back and there was a big rip in the back of my shorts.
On the next three holes, it was rip/birdie, rip/birdie, rip/birdie.
I changed at lunch and made no more good putts after that.
Wish it was legal to wear 'em at Worlds. :)
My only explanation was that since my head is usually up my arse on the golf course, the ripped shorts must've given my brain some much needed ventilation. :)

Mark,
If I'm your "new nemesis" who was the last old one? Since we're all linked, Larry Thompson must be mine. After watching him run away at LOSO II I thought I'd start developing a solid thumber and tomahawk. So I promptly went out and hurt myself. My only saving grace this weekend was that I didn't feel it with a backhand. I only survived the heat because I play a half round every weekday at lunch. Endurance training for the Worlds! Victoria this weekend has to be the hottest rounds of golf I have every played in 19 years. And then coming out to the Lago monthly mini, I'm either nuts or determined.... both!
My family's thanks to Chris and all those who put on a great event! We had a blast! I haven't played in Victoria in 12 years and I'll be back at the first opportunity. Good luck with getting Fox Bend in as a permanent course. It treated me very well considering. It was great practice for the tight courses we're looking at in Iowa, maybe. I'm probably just kidding myself.
See some of you soon at the biggest show ever!!

Lyle,
I think I was stoked by the image of your cart. You need to keep the sail on the whole time rain or shine. It completes the piece. It was fun exploring the new course with you and Dale.
I counted 2 gallons of water for myself. It all seemed to evaporate into thin air. No wait it was thick, very thick.
Thick, yes that's the word for it. Thick air. Especially in the a.m. round on Fox's Bend.
I told someone after the event that it was like trying to breathe lead. :)

Maybe on your card he can, but not on mine, cuz I'd never be able to putt again if he did ROTGLMAO is all I'd do after the second rip/ching. :o
By the time it was over Ray, I was laughing pretty freakin' hard myself. :)
Even my birdie putt on the final hole, which just missed and would've given me 5 consecutive birds to end the round, didn't make me feel all that bad. I was too busy laughing at the fact that the rip that time was only a half rip, as that's all they had left in 'em. Last hole, last rip. :)

Hey guys J.Terry here from Victoria! Just wanted to thank Chris for another great round of golf. Also to all of you who brought baskets we really appreciate it, this couldnt have happened w/o you guys. Our local boys also kicked some arse gettin this whole thang mowed and such. Tommy Isenburg, thanx so much for steppin up and givin it your all when no-one else would or could. We still have Riverside shirts left if anyone is interestd, the profit will go to gettin all matchin baskets and to make FOXES BEND a permanant course!!!!! OH YEA,, we've ordered XXL shirts for all the big boys that couldnt get one at Z10..
Thanx again to everyone who showed up and helped make this happen.
P.S.
we're tryin to install outdoor air conditioning!!!!!!!
Peace and come back soon....

Jason,
Thanks to you and the rest of the guys in the Riverside DG Club...y'll should be extremely proud of your home course and the way all of you came out and represented.
I was pleased to squeeze out 2nd place between you and Bobby Dunagan. Otherwise, The Riverside Boys would have made a complete 1-2-3 sweep of the Int. Division. (Rany Smith, another Riverside golfer was in 4th)...but as it was, having three of your local guys place 1st, 3rd, and 4th is a testament to the great disc golf in Victoria.
I wish you could have played on our final card with Randy and Bobby...we had a great time. I think you and I both shot the best Int. round on the Fox Bend course (even, 54)...but it wasn't enough to catch Bobby's first round 4-stroke lead.
Can't wait to get one of those (XXL) t-shirts and window decals...that logo you designed is one of the best looking DG logos I've seen.
Once again...thanks to all for putting this together. Oh, and in case anybody who wasn't there hasn't figured it out...it was hotter-than-all-hell. The high temp. was only 94, but with a humidity that ranged between 71% and 94%, the heat index hovered right around 114 degrees for almost the entire 2nd round. Props to all who made it through some of the most difficult conditions I've ever played through.
Oh, and I beat Mark Atwood. And I have a t-shirt that alludes to that fact.

Hopefully with a little more practice in between.. OH yea, i forgot to thank Tony Hankey, he also has done so much for our little club down here in vic.. also to Wayne and Bart for spotting, being injured has gotta blow..

On Riverside, I believe hole number 13A (a 330 ft anhyzer that you could play over the road if you wanted) I left a Pink Valkarie in the fork of a large pecan straight out from the T box. I just plain forgot to go back and get it. Its about 12 or 14 feet up. I won't be leaving Houston for any tournaments so I won't have a chance to get it but if someone comes out here between now and States I would love to get it back. Otherwise, someone should at least pick it up and use it. Hate to see a good disk rot in the sun...
How in the world did that get there Lyle? :D:D:D:D:D

Nice long S curve (well, it was supposed to be an anhyzer) that turned right back into the tree. Don Q. who was on my card said "I think that stuck." I of course insisted it must have gone through. :D
I didn't even see you out there, you better watch out, one of these tournies I'm going to give you a run. That is, as soon as I stop leaving discs in trees. :D
Well you sure beat the crap outta me, Lyle. :)

I don't know about crap, I foresee many future events being on the bottom card and fighting it out for "The master of disaster." :D (as defined by at least a 10 stroke drop between rounds). I really thought after that first round that you were going to get hotter in the second.
It was nice to finally meet you. I often arrive early. Given the great benefit that most TDs provide, the least we (the players) can do is show up early in case help is needed. There simply is not enough appreciation for those who do the work.

G'day from Iowa,
After a long drive via Oklahoma City and Kansas City we made it to Des Moines. After a stop at the amazing Water Works in KC we started hitting all the local courses. Joe and Billy have now played or walked all 6 of there courses while I played mixed doubles yesterday.
Mixed was fun on a great course at Ewing. After the first round we were just 4 shots of the lead and one behind Barry Shultz. The second round was a little tougher as the wind picked up. Thanks to Al Shack, Sue Stephens, Timmy Gill and Britta for a fun 2 rounds. Also thanks to Melinda for coming all the way from Austin just to play yesterday, have a safe trip back.
These courses are truely world class. We played a course called Carol Marty which is like Cameron Park front 9 on steroids. I have a feeling a few of those holes could make a certain Mr.Atwood cry blood.
We are now off to change hotels and have a relaxing day before the players meeting tonight.
By the way the weather here has been in the high 70's and clear skies. A great change from the last event I was at?
I will give some updates about the ZT10 Dallas in the next few days as I get back into work. For now keep thise entries coming and please keep a portable basket handy as we will need 36 portables this time.
More soon...
Thanks
Chris

Joe is playing well and is in the top 70 of Adv players even though he is an Int player. Adam he forgot his phone charger so has no phone.
Billy Nelson is in 11th in Adv Master. If he could get a birdie he would be leading.
Gary Duke is keeping up the top and doing well.
Mark Atwood is .....well just being Mark :D
It is now in the mid 60's here but clear skies. There has been rain all around Iowa but not here. Things are great.
I am having trouble getting a hold of Dirk Snow to check on the baskets. He left me a message saying he had 18 holes but I don't know if that includes yours Bryans. I will try to find out.

Okay I am almost back in Texas. I am spending the day in Oklahoma City today before heading back to San Marcos Tuesday night.
I am getting lots of calls about holding people spots for Saturday. You all know the deal, pay on Titledisc.com and all is good. If you procrastinate it is not my fault. I have not updated entries but they are coming in nicely. I hope that by Wednesday night I will have a player list online. If there is still plenty of room I will allow Saturday morning entries but only until 7:30am. If anyone tells you it is full don't believe them. If I tell you believe it.
Here is a brief overview of the event Saturday. I will email and post online directions to the park before weeks end.
Day: Saturday
Location: Flag Pole Hill - Dallas
Courses: 2 temp courses
Doubles Friday: No
First course look: Saturday Round 1
Entry Info: www.titledisc.com (http://www.titledisc.com) or www.texas10tour.com (http://www.texas10tour.com)
Hotel Deal: No as there are too many local choices to get a good rate.
Lunch on Course: No as again too many local choices close by.
Alcohol in Park: None at all. This is a park rule not mine.
Again please keep those entries coming and please be patient for a players list. I have been on the road for 2 weeks and have not updated entries.
I look forward to a fun event on these 2 great temp courses that one day soon may become permanent.
One last thing...we still need portable baskets if anyone can help.
Thanks

Or play the ZT10
I dont even have to think about that one

G'day Everyone,
Okay we now have over 100 paid entries for this Saturday. So you do the math and decide when you are going to enter. www.titledisc.com (http://www.titledisc.com) will be available up until late Thursday night. At this rate I don't expect to have any spots for those that wait until Saturday morning. The players list will be updated online later today or tonight. If spots are available I will be accepting entries on Friday at doubles before 7pm.
As I said earlier we will be doing doubles on Friday. However the course will not be setup until around 5pm. For this reason we have decided to make doubles for Friday a random draw round with a tee off at 6pm. Signup with me anytime from 4pm to 5:45pm at the course. By starting everyone at 6pm we know when we all finish so the 18 portable baskets can be taken down easily.
I would like to give a HUGE thank you to Dirk Snow, Danny Waldron and all the local guys helping with this event. These guys have done an awesome job getting 36 holes ready in a new park just for a little one day event. Please thank them when you see them putting up and packing down the course. A helping hand would also be very nice.
Players Meeting: Top of Flag Pole Hill at 8:30am

The course down in the floodplain is going to be horrendous after the rain from today and probably tomorrow. When we played it during the Food Drive it hadn't rained in a long time and was still flooded.
Bring some extra plastic (lot of water that you aren't getting it back from), extra socks and shoes, ect.

The event is not full! If you people continue to listen to rumors then you might as well jump from the nearest bridge as the world is ending tomorrow. I also have a 100 1st Run CE Valks for those of you that don't jump.
Also that person that called at 12.30am this morning I hope you enjoy your 4am wakeup call tomorrow. Believe me I have done it before.
Due to trying to make people happy by answering my phone, replying to emails, changing divisions and requests to hold them spots I have not left San Marcos yet. I still have things to do on the way up so I hope to get there by 5pm. Doubles will be run by the locals so be nice. Regardless I will be leaving the park at 7pm so if you are not there to sign up by then call a friend to do it for you.
The more people don't listen and continue to do the opposite of what it asked the more I think about reducing these events to 1 course deals. That way the people that do the right thing will get in.
Phone off, email off, and out of here. See you all sometime tonight.
Thanks

Okay after a nightmare day I am still only half way to Dallas. I am spending the night (well a few hours) at my Summer House in Waco. I will be leaving here at 2:30am to make sure I get to the course early to take signups. I have a list of people that I am sure deserve a 3am wakeup call!
Trust me on this...don't be the first person in the morning to **** me off, you will regret it. I am sick and tired of all the rumors, late calls, ignorance and lack of respect lately about late entries, and what excuse people will use this week. I have said it so many times I will not say it again, it doesn't seem to sink in anyway.
Thanks however to the large number of people that do enter early and have respect for what it takes. All these people will be rewarded very soon come the final. I am sure that all the people that have ****** me off the last few days will get a big shock in November.
Rumor or Not? I have already sold 23 of the 1st run CE Valks. They will sell out by lunch tomorrow!

The hope is that once the front to the SE of us pushes through, this system will shift S to fill that gap. very hard to predict low pressure conbined with stationary fronts though... will the low pressure left behind by the sweeping front pull this stationary one S? or will that pressure not be enough to override the already low pressure we have here? Or will it work both ways and just dissipate the storms? who knows...
or maybe it's just really early and I'm talking from my arse. who knows?

I dunno... but if anyone still has a nice stash, it's Chris. he's been a TD since those things were new, and he used to work for one of the largest Innova distributors in the world. I think he *might* have a box full of them. I know he still has a few. He's been known to donate one or two to a raffle here and there to benefit the charity.

Just saw the coverage on Fox 4 (Dallas) on the 9pm news (they played it during sports around 9:45pm or so) of the Dallas ZT10.
They showed a "teaser" clip of some women throwing drives, then had a little interview with Chris, talking about the charity side of things, then showed more women throwing discs. They even said "disc golf" and never used the word "frisbee" :)
they will probably play the segment again later tonight or tomorrow morning...
thanks for another fun event, chris! :)

nolan took open with -20 par with an ace at BB owens, JD took second -16 par, and Kerr Dixon Steve Jay and Myself tied for third for last cash.
A great tournament! Weather held out. A little humid but no rain.
Congratulations to Mindy Neal, 1st place Rec Women. You're awesome, girl. Don't ever doubt me. Thanks to Darlene and Lynda for making the rounds enjoyable. Hope to see all of you in Georgetown.
Chris, I hope your week is a little less stressful. TRY to take some time for yourself. You deserve it. We love you for all you do.

Great Disc Golf weather yesterday. But no sleep and no practice takes its toll on me again. I am in pain.
Looking forward to the Finals now, I managed to get my 4 qualifiers in.
BTW, the interview on Fox news last night was on of the better that I have seen.

Which I had of seen it! Des Reading was also interviewed. From what I heard the only people they filmed were the Ladies.
168 players enjoyed a fun day. Sun in the morning and cloud cover in the afternoon. No rain! :D
We will have the results up soon but for now I am having a few hours to watch the Aussies in the Olympics. More tomorrow morning.
Thanks

The Benders still lead in the points and are the first players to cross the 200 point barrier. 7 players have made all eight events.

Hey Chris, let's try to have a little less stress this week, eh?
Great tournament, by the way!
Hey Chris, I know this isn't the thread for this but, I was trying to find out more info on the HOOTERS event @ LIVE OAK in September. Is there anything out already?

Who is that Steve Hemmeline dude? He beat some good players in the open division. Congrats!!!
Especially great to see JD and Sammy playing again and the Readings in Texas and the Canadian Texan kicking butt. Sounds like a great day of golf.

What a fun day again. 168 players and no rain, now how good is that? Due to the rain in Dallas before I got there we mad the last minute decision not to break out the canoes and play the Flag Pole Flatts course. The decision was made to move the round to BB Owens.
From the talk I heard everyone loved the Flag Pole Hill course. No wind also certainly made for an easier time of things. I just wish I had been able to play. I unlike many people enjoy playing BB Owen.
A huge thanks again to Dirk Snow, Danny Waldron, Scott Cook and all the guys that made the day possible. Also those new tee signs were great, thanks.
Nolan wins and gets an ace to top the day off. Mike Keith decides that an ace is something to tell people to split Nolan's spent money.
We once again have 16 ladies play. If you girls stop getting pregnant we may even have 25 plus at the final ;) Thanks for all the support and for enjoying yourselves. Did any of you see yourself on TV that night?
Des and Jay Reading drove all the way from Iowa to play and then turned back north Sunday to play this weekend in Mass. somewhere. Now that's dedication. Thanks Jay for also being the master of the mic and hosting a fun ring of fire.
Thanks to Gary for getting the results up very quickly, we all appreciate the hard work on the stats.
A big thank you to the people that chipped in to help out at the end. Ginetta and I had a busy day and we appreciate the help. I drove out of the park at 7pm so I was very happy.
As I said to a few people in line Saturday I am trying to work a way to have you a choice of payout at the final in November. I am working on a way to allow you to collect your payout from my online store. Despite this I still believe we have the best and fairest method of payout. We also have the largest range of products to choose from. Did anyone go into that Big Black trailer in Iowa?
Next stop on the tour is Event #9 in Round Rock and Georgetown. Lots more info on that soon.
Thanks again to everyone that was nice to me Saturday. See what happens when people do the right thing. Call me after midnight and expect me to save you a spot and then that's another thing
Thanks
Chris

Another great event by Mr. Himing.
Best shot witnessed - Hole 6 on FPH (the Flag Pole hole) -
Mr. Brower throws a grenade up towards the basket, it hits a tree trunk square, comes rolling back, passing us, and stopping in the roadside ditch 100 behind the box.

I was wondering if the points from the final go toward the bonus?
Or is it just everything up until the final?
Thanks :D

The bonus points are only calculated through the first 9 events. There are no bonus points for the Finals.
The vouchers will be made out prior to the finals. I think you need to be registered in the finals to collect, but I'm not sure.
WTG Mindy another 1st place finish. Good luck with the new job and we'll see you soon.

Remember that there are 20 easy bonus points coming up. This weekend at Round Rock, and next weekend in Corpus.
You can add as many as 50 points by winning the TX10 and making both of the BQ events.
20 pts BQ + 25 pts for winning + 5 for an additional TX10

Laura I started playing in high school throwing at trees. The nearest course was then installed a couple of years later, a 2 hour drive away. The next nearest course to that is something like 2000 miles!
Jason as far as Australian news about Texas...(I had better not go there :D)
I hope to get some good coverage at the final in Lewisville as I have already spoken to NBC and the Dallas Morning News.
I heard last night the new run of yellow wristbands are almost ready. They have sold 10,000 worldwide so far. I get stopped everyday from people wanting them. Did you see all the Olympians wearing them?
