Brian, Do you have any Z-Crushes that will be for sale this Sunday at the mini? I hear lots of good things about that disc and I want one to try to crush myself. I see alot of stuff about a new club. What is the entry fee? I'm in.

Mar 13 2004, 11:22 AM
I'll bring some Z-crushes to the mini Sunday, unless it's torrential rain. Jerald, I have your trophy from last year's league too.

Still working on the club idea. $200 entry fee if your initials are JL :D

Ya i look forward to meeting you. hope to see you out there. one thing i would like to say is that all you experienced players out there is the reason i am improving at such a fast rate. all of you have been wonderfull to play with and extreamly Patient.

Mar 14 2004, 12:32 AM
Cool, I didn't even know I had a trophy coming. Uncool, $200 club entry fee for peeps with the initials JL. Darn the luck. I'm sure that is just a coincidence and not intended to unfairly penalize any particular person. Anyway, after the all day rain today (Saturday) I will most likely not be there for the morning mini. I guess I'll get the Crushes and the trophy at a later time.

Mar 14 2004, 09:02 AM

Yes, that's right, I'm ending my self imposed 7 yr. retirement and will be putting a little act back together.

Mar 18 2004, 11:34 AM
I would say at least two to three months, probably longer. We need at least two to three weeks to design, a week or two for the holes to be approved by the city, then lots of clearing, ordering new tee signs, and finally installation.

Mar 18 2004, 12:47 PM

Mar 29 2004, 01:58 AM
Well....John, myself, and a few other guys took a trip to the greater Austin area and spent a few days in the John's house in Smithville.

We came in Saturday, and played Circle C and Seawright. Both pretty good courses for accuracy and control....two things I don't care for! :D Anyways, we played Pease a few times today and I must say, definately the best course inside ACL....(atleast that I've played)

I started slumped, but finished it out strong. Definately a bomb course.

Mar 29 2004, 12:06 PM
Krevo, next time you're in the Austin area, play BART! And of course, you shouldn't come to this part of the world without a little trip north of the ACL area to see the Rock!

I'm gonna see all you Five Stokers Saturday! WooHoo!

hey krevo. did you play all the long boxes out at circle c?

wondering what you think of the teebox on #4. blind shot over the trees to the basket.

I often wonder why people think pease is the best course in austin.

Mar 29 2004, 03:53 PM
Martin, yes we played from a few of the long boxes when we could locate them. There weren't very many helpful people to explain the layout to us, so honestly we were lost half the time. Coming from Live Oak to Circle C is a change of pace as far as boxes and signs go. Circle C definately needs to mark ALL their baskets, and so does Seawright. I think all DG courses should print out a map or something to give you a general idea of where you're headed. Pease, I liked it because of the tucked fairways, downs and ups, and the varied amount of long arm and short arm throws. Also, it's a great course for righties and lefties the same.

Nelle 18131
Mar 29 2004, 03:59 PM
It makes you appreciate Live Oak and what the city does for us. Consider yourself spoiled. :D

Mar 29 2004, 04:06 PM
Oh believe me, I do.

I can safely say having Live Oak and UC around is a blessing compared to the courses we played in Austin. I mean, they were nice courses, they just weren't very easy to navigate. Although, the shorty throws and high hyzers were a change from the long throws that are the norm at LO/UC. I really enjoyed this weekend.

spartan
Mar 29 2004, 04:10 PM
thanks, krevo. hope the same as well for circle c. kinda hard to follow without a guide. hoping the new layout will include signs and marked baskets. let me know if you are ever back in austin to show you around circle c.

can't say that I agree about the lefty/righty statement. circle c is definately more open for both lefty or righty. pease, if you are lefty, 1,3,4,6,7,8,9,10...poor poor lefty. :( :D

Actually, RT, I was thinking Live Oak Disc Golf Alliance since Live Oak seems to be the biggest supporter in the area by far. Will make Live Oak happy, but keeps the alliance in the title so we can be strong. United we stand and all that. But you're right we need to do the club meeting. Soon. I'm in Omaha part of next week, but when I get back we'll see if we can use the pool house to meet.
