Throw a roller to the left, let it glance off the ballfield fence, circle around to the right, hit a rock and jump into the basket for an ace. Nothing to it. We call it a down under arounder inner. :D

Jun 09 2004, 12:58 PM
Weenies. The basket is right in front of you. Just throw a putter right at it. Geez. What's so hard about that. Its a birdie hole, right mate?

Nelle 18131
Jun 09 2004, 01:02 PM
I have actually aced the hole from the short position. Try that route. :D

Jun 09 2004, 01:04 PM
Dito that, aced it here too . Marks right throw stright at it.

Jun 09 2004, 01:08 PM
I aced it too with a skip off the bank, and Eddie Efsic aced it with a 150g dragon for a share of the $2,400 ace pot to be paid in October. Geez, an 8 what were you thinking?? Tin Cup?

Jun 09 2004, 01:08 PM
Haven't aced it yet, but I've bounced off it a few times from the long tee.

Someone told me there's a little water on that hole, but I've never seen it.

ozdisc
Jun 09 2004, 01:21 PM
I think I was looking out of the wrong eye when I threw it. I made the mistake of after going OB the first time throwing from the water's edge in the mud. I should have just re-teed from the cement. I parked it the 4th time :D That is the only time in all my years throwing I can remember tin cupping. I normally have no problem laying up, even at that little course they called Rock Hill in SC.

Jun 09 2004, 02:14 PM
Bill, this is my new bag...

Talk about nice looking!!!

They pretty much sold me on the insulated front pouch that's the exact same diameter of a 16 oz tall boy.

Jun 09 2004, 02:14 PM
So Beastmaster, is there going to be a mini tonight?

Jun 09 2004, 02:17 PM
WOW, Dude is that an ice chest built in on the bottom of the bag? /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
Travis that looks sweet!!!!!! :D

Jun 09 2004, 02:27 PM
I was gonna actually try and make the mini today, until I realized it was gonna be raining solid for 2 days straight. I bet, both Live Oak and UC are a mess right now.

Jun 09 2004, 02:43 PM
Yeah, but I hear the weather prediction for July 24th and 25th at Live Oak calls for clear skies, green fairways, high temps and low scores! :)

jimbo1944
Jun 09 2004, 02:47 PM
What a bunch of wimps!!!! Afraid of a little rain? Of course there will be a mini. If no one else shows up I will probably have a couple aces by myself. What rain? I don't see any rain.

Jun 09 2004, 02:50 PM
look out the window RR
Look theres a rainbow
Sorry it was there I had to take it.

Jun 09 2004, 02:58 PM
What a bunch of wimps!!!! Afraid of a little rain? Of course there will be a mini. If no one else shows up I will probably have a couple aces by myself. What rain? I don't see any rain.

Good I was hoping the mini would still be on. Need to get me an ace before i head to Waco. It would cover my expenses.

jimbo1944
Jun 09 2004, 03:04 PM
Yes Bill and I hear from Dave you take it fairy nice. :D

jimbo1944
Jun 09 2004, 03:06 PM
Don't mess with Grandpa, RR, Rainbow Runner, the Very Old Man or what ever you want to call him. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Jun 09 2004, 03:22 PM
It's still raining here downtown (1:25pm), and the streets are flooded. If it's still raining at 3pm, then I will postpone the mini to Thursday rather than cancel. I'll post something on the board at 3pm, then drive out to UC and post a sign in case anyone shows up.

It's more a matter of safety for our players than being afraid of rain. Tee boxes get slick, roads are unsafe, and my putter slips out of my hand ;)

90 minutes and counting. Go away rain!

Jun 09 2004, 03:31 PM
Isnt the ace pot $400?

Nelle 18131
Jun 09 2004, 03:38 PM
The ace pot is building up until the end of the league, then however many people have aced get to split it up. So if the ace pot is $1800 and only one person has hit an ace, then she would get it all. (she, hahaha). So right now Eddie Efsic is looking at a lot of money for the ace on 6. So if you hit an ace you would not get the money until October. Comprende senor?

Jun 09 2004, 03:52 PM
Right you are, Ken, I mean Nelle. The $400 ace pot is for Sunday's only. And Wednesday's will be closer to $2,400!

Jun 09 2004, 04:15 PM
ok so sunday's is 400. the wednesday is the progressi1ve ace pot.

Jun 09 2004, 04:39 PM
ok, it's about 2:45 and still pouring down. Another 100 year flood, perhaps? My garage was flooded when I went home for lunch!

So I think it's safe to say the mini tonight is postponed till tomorrow. Sign up at 5:45pm at Universal City.

Nelle has offered to post signs at the park. Tell your friends if they're not online. Drive safe, and stay dry!

Jun 09 2004, 04:57 PM
You must be on the wrong side of town. The sun is shining so bright I can hardly take the light. Even the radar is showing a bright yellow over the area. :D Actually, we just had a big down pour and it is still raining steady in the area of UC. You all be careful going home from work and watch out for the other guy. I wouldn't make a dog go out in this kind of weather, just my wife. She has to come pick me up. :D

Jun 10 2004, 12:51 PM

Hello from Temple. My wife talked me into spending the night here. She was afraid Grandpa was too tired to drive all the way back. I could have done it, but I wanted to keep her happy. Besides a little dip in the pool and a nice sleep in a big bed sounds pretty good.

Congratulate Nelle, she took first with I believe a come from behind win. I finished 7th. Just missed an ace. It would have been my first. It skipped right off the basket. The course was tough, but I am glad to say I bettered my score on each course the second day. Hope to see you all soon.

Jun 14 2004, 08:18 AM

San Antonio Is Nation's 8th Largest City

1 hour, 44 minutes ago Add U.S. National - AP to My Yahoo!

By MARK BABINECK, Associated Press Writer

SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio has eclipsed Dallas as the nation's eighth-largest city, buoyed by a steady population influx and plenty of room to spread out.

Related Links
25 Largest U.S. Cities [PDF] (Census Bureau)

According to estimates released Thursday by the Census Bureau (news - web sites), San Antonio had about 1,214,725 residents compared to Dallas' 1,208,318. The annual estimate measured population as of July 1, 2003.

It's the first change in the roster of America's top 10 cities since the 2000 census, although Phoenix is bearing down on Philadelphia for the No. 5 spot and San Jose, Calif., could eclipse Detroit at No. 10 before the next official headcount in 2010.

"The town is fantastic and the people are great," said Richard "Chad" Chadwick, 58, who lived in San Antonio briefly as a teen and moved back in 2002.

While the San Antonio he remembered as a youth is long gone, Chadwick always loved the warm climate, clear skies and riverside charm he believes the city has maintained despite its growth.

"We're going to progress, we're going to grow," said Chadwick, a career military man. "What you need to do is make it grow the way you want it to grow."

The Alamo City has attracted new residents and annexed neighboring communities while Dallas lost residents and reached its expansion limit.

Mike Eastland, who represents both Dallas and Fort Worth as executive director of the North Central Texas Council of Governments, points to geography as Dallas' biggest limiting factor.

"I guess there's bragging rights to being large, but I think (Dallas was) trying to determine what kind of city it wanted to be and how fast to annex," Eastland said. "About that time there were a tremendous amount of small farming communities around Dallas that began to annex land around them."

Consequently, Dallas is hemmed in by massive suburbs Plano, Richardson, Irving that individually rank among the state's largest cities. At the same time, San Antonio, Fort Worth and Houston are surrounded by vast swaths of land they can eventually annex into city limits.

At around 1.7 million in population, the San Antonio metropolitan area remains far smaller than that of the Dallas-Fort Worth region, which stands at about 5.6 million and is climbing heartily.

Still, San Antonio is proud to return to its former glory. The city became Texas' first urban center when Spanish missionaries established it in 1718. It was the state's largest city as late as 1920 before Houston and Dallas surpassed it.

The growth is likely to continue. Tourism and several military bases in the city consistently bring new people to the state and Toyota is building a new plant set to open in 2006 that will create an estimated 4,000 jobs.

Yeah, but I also heard Austin would be bigger than San Antonio by 2025. The same year I win the Senior Grand Master division at Pro Worlds in Augusta. You heard it hear first!

By then it will probably be one city... Austonio :D

Hello fellow discers. Just got back into town from McKinney, Texas. Got to visit with my oldest son and his wife this weekend and also take in the Denton tourney put on by Chris. Had a great time. Only about 39 golfers showed. The course was very interesting and challenging. Long open holes with guarded baskets (trees around) and some tight holes with water (creek and lake). Got to meet some that I played with before and some that I haven't met before. Enjoyed it all. Sorry I missed the marathon. Sounds like you all had fun. See you soon on the course.

Jun 28 2004, 09:58 AM
Just wanted to thank everyone who came out and participated this weekend. We sold 28 players' packages and raised lots of money for the Lance Armstrong Foundation. If anyone still wants the players pack e-mail James at sciencet_cher@yahoo.com Did nothing but sleep yesterday, so hopefully will have all the details posted tonight. Disc golfers are the greatest, no complaints about the rain during the first round, and the glow mini was great! Glad that everyone had a good time-and next year will be much better! Mark Vargas-you won a raffle on Saturday for a two night stay downtown! We will get you that certificate asap...
