We have been steadily working away on the details for the 2016 PDGA Women’s Global Event (WGE) since our Save The Date announcement in November. Thank you to all who have written and have expressed interest and support for the 2016 WGE on May 14th, the third running of this amazing biennial worldwide event!
Join us in 2016, as disc golfers and the PDGA continue to encourage more women to head out to their local disc golf courses! On May 14th, Women Global Events will be run around the world simultaneously to “virtually” create the largest women’s tournament on the planet.
Despite a soggy Saturday Morning in Rock Hill, S.C., a strong showing of 25 ladies shrugged off the rain to take part in the 2015 Throw Pink Event at Fewell Park in Rock Hill, S.C.
The all-female event began last year and is designed to be a relaxing, comfortable way for women and girls to get a first crack at disc golf, all while helping put an end to breast cancer via Throw Pink.
After a successful inaugural event last year, Throw Pink returns to Rock Hill, S.C., where women and girls can learn disc golf while helping put an end to breast cancer.
The sun shined down and the wind gusted through the park during the final round of 2015 United States Women’s Disc Golf Championships. Delaware, OH has been a great host for the event, as have the courses TPC Alum Creek and Gordon Holton Memorial DGC. Blessed by great weather and an amazing field of women disc golfers, Sunday’s final round at Gordon Holton was bound to be exciting.
With two rounds being played at the short but technical Alum Creek, AKA The Players Course at Alum Creek Park, there was no way to predict the outcome for the second day of the 2015 United States Women’s Disc Golf Championships. With only one round of 19 holes remaining tomorrow, one thing was certain. For each of the women playing this weekend, today was certainly “moving day”.
The 2015 United States Women’s Disc Golf Championships got off to a great start this afternoon at the Gordon Holton Memorial DGC. Gordon Holton is housed within the amazing Delaware State Park (Delaware, Ohio), home to dense woodlands, expansive meadows, and a shimmering 1,300-acre reservoir that comes into play several times throughout the course. Once home to the Delaware Indians, this 1,686-acre recreational area offers camping, swimming, boating, fishing, wildlife viewing, and of course, disc golf.
That’s right folks, the 2015 United States Women’s Disc Golf Championships (USWDGC) takes place in none other than Delaware, OH. Or, as the locals refer to it, “Mid-Ohio”. Regardless of what you call it, this area is home to some amazing disc golf courses, two of which are being played by the USWDGC field this weekend.
