What's up at circle c? I heard there were some new boxes and some redesigned holes. I can't make many of the Weds for this league, summer rush at work is gettin ready. I will be back crakin the whip at Rivery soon though. Went there this weekend, wow on hole 8, they took all the trees out of the right side. I think I'll start cutting that new teebox soon. Weekends will be tough with all the tourneys coming in May but if anyone has time during the week to help please holla at me and I will make plans to be there.

The course is great shape , everything is mowed except for #7 and the hill of course. Very little water around the course just a tad on 4.
V, I am talking about #8 at Rivery, it is that blind hyzer hole. It's pittiful now all trees on right side next to road are gone.

Yesterday the fairways would have made the grounds crew at Pebble Beach feel proud.
I played a quick one by myself and all was magnificent.
Dont think I could touch Chris' -7 even if I took 3 drives and 3 putts per hole.

I played around at RR Friday morning, don't think I have ever seen the course look so sweet. Can't the Parks Dept mow #9? I understand about the wild flowers, but I don't see any under that canapy of trees on 9.

Sure you all won't reconsider splitting Outlaws between RR and Georgetown? It looks like 1/2 of the South course area is already being kept mowed. All the trees that have been planted in the last year and all the rain this spring have that course in tip top shape.

First thing I would do would is get rid of the bad attention number of 420. Don�t cap the ace pot! This is where the un-open mind thinks that someone else other than a dragon will win the money but don't think about the increasing of the ace pot by bring more numbers out. And play either divisions or make it pro / am doubles.
Its one thing to play random at seawright anyone can birdie there. If you are a good player at the rock and match up with lesser player against two good players at the rock, you can beat on losing. And make sure the start time(10:00am) is enough for an Austin golfer to wake up from his hang over and still make it on time to lose his money to a dragon.
Another idea would be two make it a two round day(pick a format to carry over to Rivery) this would work if the Rock was only two Sundays a month. You know Lago has one of the weekends of the month and a tournament has at least one other Sunday. So only do the rock twice a month.
Some of the advantages of this idea...ls are:
1. Rivery gets play time to beat down the fairways.
2. Membership is increased by non members joining to avoid paying double for the ace pot.
3. More people playing the Rock.
4And my favorite 1 �The city sees more people on the course, justifying their involvement in expanding and improving disc golf in Round Rock.�

There will still be a mini this sunday at 10:0 so if you are not playing in COTO or Masters Cup than come on out to the ROCK and work on your D. we Tee at 10:00 hole # 1.

Vince, why are you so worried about the turn out on Sundays? I agree with you on some points like un-capping the ace pot. We could have some fun with a large ace pot and aces at the Rock are hard to come by. I think it should be open to anyone with a dollar. If your cocerned about the #420 then HELLO......

Our biggest goal now should be to decide IF there is anything as a GROUP that we want from the city. I personally would like to see multiple pin positions for some holes. Again, 1,3,4,7,9,12,13,15 & 18 are prime candidtes for an occasional change.

but seriously folks. it don't take much brainwork to figure out i'm not going to make a living at disc golf so i'm happy i can enjoy a round with four or five players. even if it's russel or gene. ar ar

I think the biggest reason for low turnout on Sundays has nothing to do with ace pots or formats or anything like that and that it might be a little out of our control. Tournaments is the #1 reason above all things. There is a tournament almost every weekend for like 8-10 months out of the year and most of the "serious" players are making those tourneys. I remember when I first started playing, you probably had a chance to play about 8-12 tournaments a year in Central Texas. Now it's like tripled. I think it's cool and do not knock anyone who steps up to run a tournament, but I do think it would be better to have a smaller amount of tournaments a year that would seem to have more meaning, like super tours or A-Tiers for example. How many C-Tiers are in the state of Texas? I'm not sure. But I do think it is the reason why we see so few on Sundays. You also have to figure that when we had National Doubles at the Rock, from about December through March, we had super turnouts on Sundays with some of the best local pros participating. The only suggestions I can think of is moving the start time to around noon (if you can't handle disc golf in Texas heat, you better take up oil painting :D) and you have to somehow get players out that are fresher to the game. The beginners, the ones who aren't yet interested in playing tournaments and making a living off disc golf ;) Have fun, maybe I'll see you all tomorrow.

What a beautiful day to play the ROCK. Lost a White/clear ORC in the drink on #16, sad thing was, my partner was already parked. Fished out (after the round) a C.E. yellow Tee Bird, (Feather) a Champion Firebid, blue, (Tree) a Champion Tee Bird, orange (no name) and a DX Raven (no name).

Spent alot of time in the water, found both of Matt's discs plus the four... that ORC just disapeared. :(

I'll try to get out to RR Wed evening to return the taged discs.

And making multi pins and tees is a great idea and has been discussed with the city and they keep moving the conversation to the new park and the course that will go there.
If someone wants to set up new tees .....I would run it by the city so that you can get the same answer I get....NO. Without clearence would be taking a chance with the city
But you all must think I am pulling your legs for what ever reason an individual can dream up.

We use winter course each year. No problem.
We use foul weather tee's all the time. No problem.
We are just talking about a few minor adjustments.
Like I'm sure we could tee on 4 or 18 from the old position once in awhile.

the winter course went over great with the city (NOT) just ask, I know I was asked why from the city and I told them "I know nothing about it, must of been some casuals,nothing we organized" but then I remember saying something along these lines during the winter league.

What a Beautiful day to play the ROCK yesterday. Course is looking GOOD nice and GREEN. Next week we will try without the Draw button and use a deck of cards. :) Vinnie and Jimmie draw each other for the second week in a row and shoot- 5. NICE. I solo'd 3 # 17 for the 3rd time in my career.. Best second shot I have ever had on that hole :D

And we have a winner!
russel mims picked ware to post on the board of his 3 on 17 in 13 hours.
Congrades... now he his the chance to double his winning by picking what round at Lago, ware will drink his first beer.

and that was 13 hrs and 41 mins. that's easy. before we even start on the way to the course of course :D and russell's just MAD he can't PUTT . Guy missed every putt he attempted :o

all he had to do is guess with in the hour.
Jerry was clos with 14 hours and so was eddie with 12 hours.
I was off the most I gussed a 1 hour :D

During a quick trip to the Rock yesterday to try to find a lost disc in water by #2, I noticed three guys in the water down by #16 basket looking for discs. They were there when I arrived and were still in there by the time I left 45 minutes later. Anyone we know? You'd hope they were there to find and return people's discs with names on them.....but surely that's just wishful thinking.

Thinking of going out to Lago today about 4:30pm to for a casual practice round in prep for this weekend. 2 non-mini-playing buddies of mine may tag along. Anyone wanna go? Let me know.

I dont know that the word got out to all and this is one of the ways to do it.

1) The party will be the June 26th.
The club will provide food.
However it is going to be bring your own refreshments.

2) This league is a best 10 of 20 games .
Last night was week 7.
Lots of time to learn how to march into the wind and putt.

3) There will be a Double R end of league celebration Sept 1st.
The club will provide pizza and awards at the park.


4) Next league will be a shorter singles scratch league.
Divisional I believe.

5) The league after that will be handicap league.

Thanks to all for you patience and understanding while we, the staff,

Jerry I have 1 we can use. I think I can also get one from Homebrew. Laura if you have an extra room we can use the 5 gallon water cooler we might need it. But than again we will have a cart lady selling refreshments on the course. So if we can get maybe 2-3 out on the course plus the cart lady we should be good.

I'm bringing 3 5gal. water coolers too. :)

Good luck with the tourney Ware. I hope it's a huge success and gives Chance something to look forward to. Again, sorry I can't participate, I've just got too much going on this weekend. Maybe next year if you do it again.

Seriously, I played with Atwood in doubles and absolutely smoked it. I slept half the round and Mark was ON FIRE!!!!!!! Putt after putt went in. Hole after hole I watched. If I remember right we would have shot -18 if I would have held up my end. Mark not only made a bunch of putts but he tossed me over his shoulder and carried me to VICTORY!

just played the course and it is LOOKING GOOD! I think we are going to see an ACE go down this week. Guess who I saw playing the ROCK??

you play water o.b. on #7,that makes the hole rating go up.

you will have to play water o.b. on in lake and creek thourgh holes 2-4.
If you play all water o.b. it would be a advantage for the ones that don't play a round today.

all water in creek beds # 7, # 4 # 11 are OB. Pond on # 4 is OB. lake on # 16 and 17 is OB. Little puddles in the middle of the fairway not OB. (ie # 7, & #11) This is how we played the last leagues or at leaset this is how 2 different cards I have been on played the water.

and the rules change again. whats new? do we get the strokes back from throwing in we ditch behind hole six and fairway hole seven?? we were told it was OB by a cabinet member. put it in writing and hand out a copy of the weekly changes before the round.
