This has been my home course since 1987 and I love it. Mostly* well designed with a variety of shots. Am pads are just as challenging as pro pads. This area is a wetlands and as such, playing this course in summer involves soaking wet shoes and socks most of the time (I heard it described as "an unflushed toilet" recently :) ). There are a few ponds that come into play, but they are easily avoided.

*There seems to be a strange mindset that "all fairways are too fair, so let's plant some big, bushy trees right in the prime driving area". (Holes 2, 4 and 17 are examples of this.) For now, these trees are small, but eventually, they will grow huge (cedars and magnolias) and make these "unfair"ways.

*Alternate pin positions on 1, 4, 6, 12, and 15 are very poorly placed (1 is usually under water or surrounded by it, 4 and 6 are surrounded by pine trees and palmettos, 12 is awkward at best and you can be 10 feet away from the alt pin on 15 and not have a putt as it is surrounded by pine trees).

This course gets a three-star rating, but could easily be five if the principles of disc golf course design were followed.

North-side DGC is where I cut my disc golf teeth. This is one of my favorite courses that I have ever played. It is a fairly busy park. It has allot to offer every level of player. loads of diversity. The course is very well maintained by the county parks department and the Gainesville Chain Hawks disc golf club.

Northside is a nice course. Expect to bang off a lot of trees as you play, as many holes have you weaving through the forest. Even so, there is little to no underbrush, which makes the course easy to navigate. For a place with no terrain, Northside has a surprising amount of variety, playing against the edges of wooded areas, a few small ponds, and a creek.
