About TD Training
The PDGA is excited to announce the launch of a new TD Training program, designed to provide Tournament Directors with valuable tools, tips, and best practices for running successful PDGA sanctioned events. This innovative training is structured as an 18 "Hole" course, where each hole represents a different lesson or aspect of being a TD. From event planning and course layout to managing player behavior and handling logistics on tournament day, each lesson offers insightful guidance to help TDs navigate the complexities of organizing high-quality events. This hands-on approach ensures that TDs receive practical advice that can be applied immediately to their events, regardless of size or experience level.
The PDGA’s TD Training program is available to all current PDGA members, making it an excellent resource for both new and seasoned Tournament Directors. For newcomers, it offers a structured pathway to understand the ins and outs of running a PDGA event, while more experienced TDs can refine their skills and discover new strategies for event success. By focusing on real-world scenarios and providing a wide array of tips and tricks, the program aims to empower TDs to confidently lead their events with efficiency and professionalism, ensuring the best possible experience for players, spectators, and the entire disc golf community.
