Women's Global Event

Women's Global Event

Since 2012, the PDGA’s Women’s Global Event (WGE) has enabled women from all over the world to participate in one unifying event. The WGE gives women and girls the chance to compete with their peers, ones that share the same love of the game, no matter the distance between them. It reminds us that even if we are playing in a division by ourselves or are the only woman in the tournament, we are not alone.

All around the world, more than 3,000 women competed in the 2021 PDGA Women’s Global Event earlier this year.

From first-time disc golfers to three generations hitting the course together, the goals of community and growing the sport for girls and women of all ages were accomplished with record numbers.

Now, it’s time to start planning the 2022 WGE.

The PDGA Women’s Committee recently announced that the global event will return for its sixth edition on August 6-7, 2022 and will become an annual event.

After her daughter teed off, she received a compliment on her form.

Event Info

Two years ago, the PDGA created and hosted one of the most important new events for the sport of disc golf, the Women’s Global Event. It took months and months of planning, but when it was all said and done it was deemed a huge success. 636 women from 24 states in the USA joined forces with women in Norway, Finland, and Australia to compete in what we now consider one of our most cherished events.

Two months to go and we've already broken the records from 2012. We now have 630 women registered for 52 events spanning 28 states and 7 countries, and it's still growing!

Although the 600 available player’s packages have been reserved, it is not too late to participate in the event. Please visit our 2014 PDGA Women's Global Event page for information on how it works, how to sign up, how to register your event, and more. You may also contact the WGE tournament director, Karolyn O’Cull at [email protected] with any questions.

Congratulations to all of the women who participated in the Women’s Global Event this past weekend.

The first ever Women’s Global Event is just around the corner. There are over 40 registered Women’s Global Events around the world including events in Norway, Finland, Australia and 24 different states. So, find a WGE event near you and sign up online now! We will be accepting online registrations for only three more days. After May 4th, it will be up to the Tournament Director’s discretion to accept ‘week of’ and ‘day of’ registrations.

The Women’s Global Event on May 12 is growing to become the biggest Women’s field ever! We’re building the hype as we continue to encourage ladies to find their local Women’s Global Event. So far, we have 121 women registered throughout the 27 events around the US, Norway and Finland!
