Last week in Santa Cruz, California the large gallery at DeLaveaga was giddy with excitement at how close the competition was coming down the home stretch. This week in Oregon, they were giddy because it was not.
The Disc Golf Hall of Fame Classic was created in 2003 for the inaugural PDGA National Tour to recognize and thank all of the distinguished members of the Hall of Fame, who have done so much to get the sport to where it is today.
The 2009 Hall of Fame Classic will take place on May 30-31, 2009 at the PDGA International Disc Golf Center at Wildwood Park in Columbia County GA. The tournament is sanctioned as a PDGA SuperTour event and as of 5/22/09 spots are still available in the tournament:
Climo Crushes Clackamas Riverside Course to Capture Lead at Beaver State Fling

Though he did not start out on fire, Ken Climo took his slow and steady approach to the first few holes of the third round and used it to spark a record-setting performance of 51 on the East course at the 2009 Beaver State Fling being held at Milo McIver State Park outside Portland, Oregon. Climo has a three-throw lead over Avery Jenkins heading into today’s final round.

Tim Selinske has come home from the hospital. His prognosis is excellent and his recovery is moving along well. Although he has made great progress since being released, Tim still faces a long course of chemo and recuperation. He would to thank everyone for their kind wishes and prayers which continue to give him so much encouragement during this difficult time.

The PDGA has passed a milestone during membership processing this week. We are now assigning numbers in the 40,000s! We are growing as an association and will soon get the recognition we have all been waiting for. As our member base climbs so will our efforts in becoming a globally-recognized competitive sport.

Round two of the Steady Ed Memorial Masters Cup was played today in unseasonably warm weather for Santa Cruz, California but the weather wasn't the only thing that was hot.
