Who said that double digits were only for MPOs? Finland's Heidi Laine maintains her stellar form and scores a 10-under-par round of 1016 on the Mäetaguse course at the PDGA EuroTour — Lone Star Disc Alutaguse Open.

She told us in the interview that, despite being a player with a great distance, she had saved the last percentage of power to improve her accuracy and make sure to play from the fairway. If we add 73% accuracy from inside 10 meters and even an eagle on hole 2 we have an extraordinary round!

And with 12 Estonian players registered to play at home, it was foreseeable that they would reach some of the places of honor, and so it was: Kristi Unt continues to reap good results in the European events she plays and, with a -4, is the closest to the leader.

Keiti Tätte (-3) is having a season with ups and downs, but she was satisfied with her performance, especially at a special moment as the visit of the European circuit to her country, and she highlighted the increase in quality and quantity of players that makes the national podiums increasingly disputed.

Sharing fourth place with -2, Anneli Tõugjas-Männiste and Maarja Soasepp are perfectly placed to fight for the top places and even to try to put Laine in trouble.

MPO

Finnish Daniel Davidsson waited a long time in the "hot seat" with his -10, so long that, in the end, he managed to tie for first place on the opening day of the PDGA Euro Tour Lone Star Disc Alutaguse Open (Estonia)! During a relaxed chat while watching his rivals play the difficult 15th hole, we commented that in Disc Golf, both players and fans remember mainly the highlights of the season—Daniel already has three podiums in Copenhagen, Nokia and Konopiště, each one showing his great quality—and not so much the bad moments, and that he is very motivated to fight for his first victory this year.

Tied with him is the Icelandic Blær Örn Ásgeirsson, unbeatable in his country and permanently in the Top 25 at European level, to whom today all the circumstances were favorable: used to the strong winds of Iceland he knew how to take advantage of the constant breeze that blew throughout the day and was very successful both in the drives and near the basket.

In third position and only one stroke behind were two local players who appeared in almost all the bets: on the one hand, Albert "Bazooka" Tamm whose great power gave him an advantage on a course with long holes like this one in Mäetaguse and who surprised even the most optimistic with a -6 in the first 8 holes to gothrough a somewhat "colder" part in the second half of the course, and on the other, Mauri Villmann who, after winning the general classification of the European Pro Tour 2023, is postulated as a contender for everything at this end of the season.

There will be more excitement Friday, which will also include the Masters categories.
