BamBam, we haven't had the STD at Greenbelt in a long time... Porter has been the most frequent location of late. In fact, I haven't played Greenbelt in a couple months at least. Besides, since we are kinda having an off-week for tournament prep... Greenbelt made the most sense for us. Still got to play fun golf with friends. Can't beat that, no matter what park is played :D

yes, I wasn't shooting particularly well at porter, but had enough birdies to offset my bogeys. I finished on 5,6,7, all of which were parked within 20 feet... but only 7 was close enough that I couldn't miss. I "wussed" my putts on 5 and 6, smacking the front of the pan both times. Making those would have put me at -7 overall, and would have had 3rd to myself (since there were 2 tied at -8). Of course there was the putt on hole 3 at porter which (from 6 feet away) was simply tapped in softly, but somehow managed to fall on edge to the bottom of the pan and bounce out. Yes, it actually bounced . Oh well, maybe next time :). Parker, for the record, *all 3* of us on the leader card shot a pathetic -1 the last round. Smurph's buddy Jeremy and one other guy passed us all. BTW, I got to play the first round with Jeremy. good guy, fun times... but ask him about the teebox discrepancy on hole 14. He and a golfer on another card had some nice words for each other. :D

I might be mistaken, but I think almost *all* the STDers cashed this weekend... even team T&A who were too SKEERED to play on Saturday cashed in doubles :) Correct me where I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure all of these people cashed on Saturday:

I'm not sure if Mr. Bitner cashed, but if not, that's what he gets for trying to hit me with his drive on #11 at JP :D I think Dukie might have missed the cash by a stroke, but he's injured. We won't hold it against him. Assuming that my list is correct, STDers made up about 12% of the 93-person field. Assuming an average 35% payout over all divisions, we took down approximately 1/4 of the cash spots! Of course these numbers are mostly off the top of my head, but we definitely had quite a showing.

BTW, now that I have cashed in advanced (2 divisions above my rating), does that mean I can't play intermediate (one division above my rating) without you people calling me a bagger? :D

Nope, I made last place cash as well.

I think most am divisions are paid at 40% or greater.

i just talked to the guy with the parks dept and he said they mow every 2 weeks and he thought he saw some tractors out there this morning but he would try and find out and i have to call him back this afternoon.

the city just called me and said they are starting to mow today and will be finished by 4:00pm tomorrow. hope that helps!

The beauty of the round was shooting +6 on the front 9 and then shooting -1 on the back 9 w/o any bogeys..apparently the tougher shots I can par and the easier ones I blew that day!

We have been playing Aud, Porter and Greenbelt the 1st 3 Thursdays and then the 4th thursday was a random course...

I will probably try to leave early if I can on Thursday so I can get there alittle ahead of the rush, but we will see.

We decided to change the days of the week while you were in Vegas. Tuesdays and Thursdays are now considered the weekend. When your boss asks why you weren't there on Thursday just tell him to call Adam. :D

BTW, BC on thurs is cool with me. I can change clothes here at work and have a short golf commute for once :) I think this week I can actually make it, too. Work has definitely taken a strange turn... As of right now, we're reporting to a new manager starting monday, but we're not sure for how long. We may or may not move to another office. We may or may not change job functions. We may or may not have to start working shifts (i.e. M-Th 10a-10p or some variant)... All I do know is that this week is gonna be *very* lazy for a lot of us. I should be there on Thursday :D

Tonight was odd to say the least...only people in the park when we started...and Pat and I hit the 1st 4 in a row playing Pro pads...then only 1 more birdie the whole round to win..over Josh and Todd...and they had 2 bogeys :D

No golf for me tonight�had a long weekend of golfing and I skipped out on the great Saturday morning round. Watts shot a �9 at Porter! Krell was �8 and Todd �7. Sunday we played Porter doubles and Todd and Watts shot �11, with Jack and I shooting �10. Then we headed over to GB and Todd and Jack shot �11 and Parker and I shot �9 or �8. Don�t remember all of Krell�s scores from the doubles.

Get signed up for the MJCO by Wednesday to get your full players package!

Thank you, Gary for all that you are and have been doing for disc golf in our state and outside. I heard on the news last night about the Red Cross shelter at Samuel Park and the first thing I thought of was the disc golf course you are putting in. I hear about any tournament in our state and the first thing that comes to my mind is you. I read results of a Texas 10 tournament and think of you. You are such a valuable asset to Texas Disc Golf. You deserve a bigger thank you than any one of us could give to you.

my golf schedule has been completely screwed up by work... I'm on 9:00pm-7:30am (Tues-Sat) shift right now. not sure for how long. not even sure how long I'll stay at this company... for now I'm not gonna be able to play golf unless it's on sunday or monday afternoons. i'm not sure if I'll be able to play the MJCO. It doesnt sound like theres gonna be a big turn out for Porter tonight, would those who can make it have any objections to starting closer to 5:30 than 6? No biggie if its a problem, I just dont want to miss much of the cowboy game! Porter usualy dont take long time anyway, but i figured if we start around 5:30 that would finnish us right around 7:00, when the game starts. Ya'll post back and let me know what you think! :cool:
