Course Reviews
Very nice, beginner friendly tract that is fun & challenging for all skill levels! Tight & open holes. Good tee pads & tee signs. Easy to navigate the 1st time. Limited parking in small lot by lake pier but lots of parking on weekends alone main road which the course parallels.
Nice and varied 9 hole course, no water holes. Wooded holes are pretty cleared of undergrowth, and the course has some nice open holes as well. Most holes are fairly short but very few have direct shots to the tee. If it is your first time playing this course, disregard a lot of the hole maps at each individual teebox, as some are quite misleading (i.e. maps shows dog leg left, but is actually completely straight). All said, it's a fun little course that is decently manicured.
It's not bad, and it's very convenient to NCSU students. However, it's too tightly wooded in many places for my taste, and there really are a lot of thorns, bushes, etc. The signs are handy but at times are misleading. Completely ignore the sign for hole 7. I had fun though, and I may pay a repeat visit.

On a trip to a concert in Raleigh, I was able to get in a quick round of disc golf. Several locals have asked me why I chose this course rather than a different one in Raleigh and the answer is simple. I was only in Raleigh for one full day, and two half days. I only wanted to play a short 9 hole course and this one seemed to be rather short from a quick search online. So that's how I landed myself at this course. It seems that this course is not a favorite of the locals but I am going to be honest in this review and say that this course isn't nearly as bad as what the course ratings are reflecting. Yes, there are a few issues as far as tee signs being gone and a few fairways that nearly cross, but as far as the play of the course, it is actually a fun little layout. I'm not telling you to drive out of your way to play this course, but if you are in the area, it is definitely worth a quick 9 hole round. Let me put it this way... I have seen courses in MUCH worse condition than this one with a higher rating. I know the locals are going to be tough on it since it doesn't live up to the other courses in the area, but it's not terrible. There are actually some very trickily designed holes that make you think before you toss. I love that about this course. The fun design of the course in addition to the beautiful property it is on (you walk along a lake after you finish hole 9) makes this course a great little place to play if all you want is a quick round. If I were local to this course, I could see myself looping it 2 (or maybe even 4) times on occasion. If you like disc golf for the nature aspect of the sport, you will love this course. If you like disc golf for the competitive challenging side of the sport, you will hate this course. Either way, I don't believe this course deserves as low of a rating as it has.
