After months and months of waiting, the main event of the 2014 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships presented by Keen finally starts tomorrow morning. As with every major disc golf event, the days leading up to the singles competition have been filled with an assortment of activities for competitors and spectators alike.
The Keen shoes that were to be distributed to participants of the 2014 Pro Worlds at Blue Lake Park today have been held up at U.S. Customs. We will reschedule the distribution as soon as possible and let you know when and where you can pick them up.
It’s not often that you get to see top disc golfers in the world playing doubles and it’s even rarer to see it happen at one of the most beautiful disc golf courses in the country. Today marked the official start of the 2014 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships as 32 men and 32 women united to form some of the most talented mixed doubles teams in the world. Pier Park is a staple of Portland area disc golf and its layout provides a challenging but fair mix of holes. It’s the perfect venue for doubles and we can only assume it was the obvious choice for the action we were fortunate enough to witness today.
Milo McIver East - Hole 9: ALL divisions will be playing from the top tee. The course map was updated to reflect this change but the course notes do not reflect this change, thus causing some confusion.
Blue Lake - Hole 13: ALL divisions will be playing to the basket on the right.
On behalf of the tournament staff and volunteers, we apologies for any confusion this may have caused.
The City of Roses, Stumptown, Rip City, PDX, Disc City…these are just a few of the nicknames for the great city of Portland, Oregon. OK fine, you busted us. Disc City isn’t one of the nicknames, but maybe it should be. Portland and the Stumptown Disc Golf Club have a long history of success in the disc golf world and we couldn’t be more excited about what is about to begin, the 2014 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships presented by Keen!
The pools are posted for the 2014 PDGA Professional World Championships in Portland, Oregon. The only division assigned across multiple pools is the MPO division and those assignments were made based on:

More than 1000 PDGA members will soon be heading to Minnesota and/or Oregon for the PDGA Amateur or Professional World Disc Golf Championships. They're heading to some of the best areas in the country, not only for disc golf but for exploring and places to live. It's no surprise to those who live there that their states and cities rank near the top of several "Best of" categories. Here are some of the factors and variables that have helped support the development of disc golf in both states.
Today is the last day to register for Am Worlds or get on the Am Worlds waitlist. Today is also the last day for players that are in Am Worlds to withdraw and receive a full refund minus the $10 handling fee. Those withdrawing from the event after today will only receive a player’s pack.
We have made adjustments to the Pro Worlds registration list in order to insert the 30+ registrations taken in the PDGA office, to clear up duplicate registrations, and to make waitlist status for each division clearer. All changes were made based strictly on the order in which each member had registered.
As of Friday, April 18th, registration is officially open for the PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships and the PDGA Amateur Disc Golf World Championships. At this stage of the registration process, only those that have been invited to compete in the event are able to register. Listed below are the dates of the next phases of the Pro Worlds and Am Worlds registration process.
Due to delays in getting invitation information sent out to invitees for both the 2014 Amateur/Junior and Pro World Championships there is concern that the USPS invites sent to those without email addresses may not be received in time for the original registration opening date of Friday, April 11th.
Registration for both Worlds will now open on Friday, April 18th at 12:00AM Eastern Daylight Savings Time.
