Next Session: PDGA TD Academy
Next Session: PDGA TD Academy
First-time TDs can apply now through April 13

The PDGA is excited to launch the next session of the PDGA TD Academy. This is an interactive training program designed specifically for PDGA members who have never directed a PDGA disc golf tournament before. If you've been looking to get involved and give back to the disc golf community by running your own event, this is the perfect opportunity to learn from the ground up.
This in-depth program will be led by PDGA TD Program Director Scott Withers and experienced Tournament Director Laura Morgan Wise, designed to guide participants through every essential step of being a TD. The training includes five bi-weekly virtual learning sessions through live video meetings and built into each session will be the official PDGA TD Training program.
The TD Academy participation will be limited and we ask that only serious applicants apply. This is a in-depth program that will prepare you to confidently run your first PDGA-sanctioned event. The program curriculum will conclude with all New TD Academy participants running their own PDGA-sanctioned C-Tier event.

Throughout the course, participants will gain hands-on experience and insight into all aspects of tournament management. This includes learning how to sanction a tournament with the PDGA, using key tools like DiscGolfScene, Tournament Manager, and Tournament Central, as well as navigating logistics such as securing course rentals and organizing player packs.
To apply for this program, please follow the link at the bottom of this page. You will be asked to fill out some short essay questions about why you are interested in participation and list at least one reference of someone in your disc golf community.
Applications are due April 13, 2026
