The PDGA would like to extend a huge congratulations to all participants who have successfully completed the New Tournament Director (TD) Academy presented by Discraft! Over the past three months, these new TDs have worked hard to learn the ins and outs of running high-quality events under the PDGA platform. From tournament operations to player experience, these graduates are now equipped with the skills and knowledge to make their events memorable and professional.

As part of their graduation, participants will be hosting their very first sanctioned tournament.

These amateur-only tournaments will provide players a chance to support new TDs, enjoy exciting disc golf, and celebrate the future of our sport. Whether you’re a seasoned competitor or just love being part of the community, these events are the perfect way to get involved and help encourage the next generation of tournament directors. 

Discraft has supported the TD Academy series of events by providing great players packs at a steep discount to our new TD Academy grads. Players packs at these events will include a Discraft disc, Snap Cap mini/can topper, a towel, and drawstring bag. 

Next up for the TD Academy graduates ahead of their events will be one-on-one meetings with Tournament Director Program Director Scott Withers as well as a follow-up after their initial event.

Interested in being in the next TD Academy class? Enrollment is planned to begin at the beginning of 2026, with lessons around late January / early spring.
