Welcome to PDGA Europe! PDGA Europe was established in 2006 as a Committee of the PDGA Board of Directors, composed of the PDGA European Country Coordinators and the PDGA International Director. In 2017, the Committee, together with the PDGA Global Board voted to approve the transition of PDGA Europe to a self-governing and self-sustaining continental branch of PDGA Global, and to establish a PDGA Europe Board of Directors. In 2019 PDGA Europe was officially registered in Finland as a not-for-profit sports association. PDGA Europe is dedicated to the promotion and sustainable growth of disc golf, in partnership and alignment with PDGA Global.
To date, PDGA Europe’s leading activities and achievements include:
- Opening an office in a national sports organizations’ building in Helsinki.
- Hiring and training of Tour, Marketing/Media and General/Office Managers.
- Annual in person summits of the Board, staff and PDGA Global representatives.
- Design and implementation of expanding annual budgets, utilizing the bulk of the European membership and event sanctioning income.
- Annual General Meetings by teleconference with attending member voting per the by-laws.
- Launched the PDGA Europe Disc Golf Development Program in 2022. A total of 25 projects have received grants as of December 2024.
- 3 more programs were conceptualized and introduced in 2024: a National Associations’ Support Program, a Competition Grant Program, and a Communications Program.
- Production of guidebooks on How to Build a Disc Golf Course & How to Grow a Disc Golf Club, that are being translated into various languages.See: https://www.pdga.com/documents/europe/brochures .
- Rewrite/update of the by-laws in 2025 to ensure they comply with Finland protocol.
