I think there is something in the works for twin Parks that weekend ,Check it out before you make plans .
**** Billy your quick. :D
The plan so far is to have a July 4th blowout weekend at Twin Parks. Since the Monday is the 4th and a holiday we are planning a Sunday 2 round event with a 18 hole skins round on the Monday morning with 100% payout just like the Ice Bowl. That then leaves Monday afternoon to party, drink, and then watch the Twin Parks fireworks show from around the clubhouse. We also are likely to have a mountain bike event that Sunday.
Still need to confirm all the details with Park but that is the plan. If it doesn't come off then I am out of here. :D

Once again we get to enjoy a wonderful day in Live Oak park!! Come out and join us for a fun relaxing time.
FOCUS TIME is back!!! Today we will work on mid-range/upshots using midrange discs and putters for about 30 minutes before the round. This will help us learn the skills for more enjoyable rounds to come. I am excited about this practice because it will help everyone out, including me.

No Mini this Saturday.
Next Mini 5/28
A special request of all disc golfers who RESIDE in Live Oak. On May 31st, City Council will discuss whether or not to issue certificate of obligation bonds for park development across Toepperwein and major improvements to the City Park. We are currently working with a park development firm for the grant applications, design and development of our park land. I am asking that you be there to speak your thoughts of these two items as they will take Live Oak forward. Now that we have established disc golf, the overall importance of parks and recreation here must take center stage.

that would be great but I think the city council meets at 7pm, and we start at 6pm, so they overlap. I'm sure we can get some representation from the more responsible members of our alliance.
See you Sunday at the ball golf/disc golf challenge!

25 players compete, 23 finish. Please make sure you use the public restrooms, not the trees where people can see you :o The UC cops have a problem with that for some reason :D
Shawn Hess takes open with 5 under par, John Arick takes Am with even and moves to Open next week. Jennifer Morales birdies number 4 and wins the rec division of one.
Mark "luckiest guy in the freakin world" Vargas hits an ace on hole
B" to get a share of the estimated $3,000 ace pot.

Hey guys Jimbob wants to know if anybody is playing around 4:30?
This meeting is for the residents of Live Oak only, due to the fact that they are the ones to be affected by what comes of the meeting. The meeting will be at 7 p.m. at city hall and I don't know where on the agenda parks and rec. will be. Keep in mind, this is recreation in Live Oak and it would be more beneficial to us if you speak on the overall issues rather than disc golf.
As an established group of people (LODGA) and the other sports assiciations, it would be important to hear directly from those that utilize our facilities.
Vinnie- I will let you know which one(s) of the locals that don't make it.

The intent is for Matt and I and maybe Grave Digger to be there.
At least one and maybe both Joes will be there. What is the best route? 281 or I-35?
Looks like it would be about the same (281 or 35). The courses are listed in the online directory under 'Dripping Springs'. Sheck it out Main!
Paul Taylor
May 19 2005, 09:19 AM
What is the best route? 281 or I-35?
If you live anywhere near 281, then that is faster. My suggestion for those of you in LIIIIIIIVE OOOOOAAK is to go your normal way to Circle R (FM 2325) and instead of stopping at Circle R, keep going. You will eventually hit a a "T" which is FM 165. Take a right and this will take you to 290. From here take another right, go through Henley toward Dripping Springs.
If you take 281, then take Loop 163 south of Blanco to FM 165 to 290. It is about 25 minutes shorter then going all the way up to 290 on 281.
Hope this helps
This will work. Now how can I find my game?!? :D

Bandera City Council takes action on skate park, disc golf course, historical district
By James Taylor - Associate Editor-in-Chief
Three projects that will improve Bandera for both young and old were given boosts by the Bandera City Council during its May 19 regular meeting.
The Riverside Skatepark steering committee was the first to receive good news from the council. The committee had been seeking approval by the city for a piece of property near the City Park to begin clearing to build a skatepark on for two months now. The council allocated the property behind the bathrooms adjoining the City Park to the committee, pending the skatepark's incorporation or receiving non-profit status.
City Works Director Mike Cardenas said that he had walked the section of the City Park that Bandera County Kronkosky Library Director John Hegemier requested permission to install nine disc golf baskets on, and that turning the back portion of the City Park into a disc golf course would not disturb the nature trail, any trees or walkers through that section of the park. The council approved the request to install the golf baskets.
"I'm very excited," Hegemier said. "We've talked to the ag department at the school and they have agreed to build the baskets for us as a class project."
Hegemier said he is hoping that funds for the materials can be raised locally through a sponsorship program. Each lifetime sponsorship, either by a business or individual, costs $100 and will include a plaque to be posted on the sponsored basket. A total of nine sponsorships are needed.
For more information on sponsoring a basket, call Hegemier at 830-796-4213. For more information on disc golf, visit www.pdga.com. (http://www.pdga.com.)
BRIAN-MAKE SURE YOU CHARGE CHRIS WHEN HE ENTERS THE CITY LIMITS. EVERYONE ELSE CAN PLAY THE COURSE FOR FREE! :p
If it doesn't clear up, no ones playing tonite! It's nighttime downtown SA.

Brian/Jerrod and Shawn/Eric tie for first at 5 under par. Shawn Hess hits his 2nd league Ace guarantying him 2 shares of the final ace pot, estimated to be about $3,000. Six aces so far, four in May. Wow!

Have not received final times from Joe P. of the tnmt. It will be safe to say, that you will need to be at the pavilion between 9:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. If you are early, you can always help with registration, course prep or just warm up. Call me on my cell at 789-5635 should you have any questions. Parking-please plan on parking down by the football field (#28) instead of the upper lot. Furthermore the practice basket will NOT be accessible due to World Car Nissan displaying their cars around that area. I will have our portable available near the pavilion. Should Mother Nature decide to throw a curveball (rain) plan on being there nontheless. We may have to cancel other events, but the tnmt. will play on. We have a full crowd to include a bus load of soldiers from Ft. Sam to play and we anticipate 34 golfers. Please be patient. You will not be denied the opportunity to play and teach. Finally, if you have any old dx plastic you wish to depart with, then bring them so that we can sell to the non golfers for a buck or two. Thanks again for the awesome response and will see you on the course. :cool:BY THE WAY, THIS IS FOR SATURDAY, JUNE 4TH, 2005.
25 players enjoy a hot humid evening in Universal City. Carlos Molina wins back to back with another 6 under par. 4 tie at 4 under par. David, Jody and Rick all shoot 2 under par to tie for the AM win. Welcome to open next week guys!
No aces, thank you!

Yep that would be my red cyclone. What is it with red discs at Live Oak. Last I heard a red wildcat was still missing. :D
After a few days of recovery, I will try and obtain the results from this weekend. Aside from the lack of heavy rain and strong winds, from the looks of things, the tournament was a success. THANKS AGAIN TO EVERYONE WHO PLAYED!!!

I have a perfectly good reason, LOPAR, for not finsihing in the top 10. And her name is LAURA KARSHIS aka Baby. Everytime I was in my run up to drive I heard her say, under her breath, "don't fall." or "heads up." or "you suck."
It was no different when I was putting... "don't miss it." or "hey look Dave's got his shirt off." or "Yount actually hit a putt." That would throw anyone's game off.

Since Frinday night glow is going so well how about we schedule a Charity Marathon there sometime soon? We don't need to do it for 24 hours but maybe we can work with the city to do something special.
The player packs are awesome this year and again proceeds benefit the LAF.
I am out of the office for the day but have a think and lets see what we can do.
Don't forget the Twin Parks Solar Night Round at 9pm this Sunday night. All 18 baskets are lite up all night long by solar llighting. Come try it. I also have plenty of the nite lights if you need them. We will also have a free keg of beer.
Back to LOSO trash talk. :D
