Some land is available now for 3 holes, but the rest will be dependent upon the completion of the lake project. Will keep everyone posted.

The first Ladies Day of the season was great. Laura Karshis, Jaimee Sisson, Steph McWhirter and myself all enjoyed a beautiful Saturday afternoon at Live Oak park.

LOLO's played a full round of 18 for the first time on Ladies Day. :D

The girls did great and really toughed it out when we played 11a and 11b. Good job ladies.

I hope to see more ladies out on the course. This month we will not be doing a "traveling ladies day" due to Christmas, but for sure in January.

Guys, if you see a lady on the course, please let her know about the Ladies Day every Saturday at 12:30. I want Live Oak to be known as the Lady Disc Golf Capital USA.

I want singles to be played at Live Oak and pro's to get cash MONEY!!!

First Sunday of the month, play the original front 18. Second Sunday play middle 18 with 11a and 11b. Third Sunday play the back 18. And then the last Sunday of the month play UC. All formats with there own ace pot.

John is not running it. If you build it, I will come. What about a collaborative effort? Take turns running it. Keep it simple, $2 for an ace pot, cap at $400, $5 for entry with a total cash payout for both am and pros. If you email me the results each week (if I'm not there), I can keep track of the ace pot money and collect it from the TDs to keep it safe. I can provide score cards and payout charts to the TDs as well. After that it's pretty simple to run, just collect the money, jot down the results and payout the winners each week. If you want to do $4 for the payout, you could give $1 per player to the TD of the week to compensate them for running it. That might be a good incentive to get volunteer TDs.

Nelle, my concern with your idea is that it would be difficult for people to remember when they play at UC and when they play at Live Oak. Consistency is the key. Besides we need a UC mini. Once April hits, we'll already have 3 minis a week at Live Oak. Variety of course play will help your game!

I want to give people the opportunity to play singles at Live Oak for cash. UC can have the mini one Sunday, maybe two. And what minis in April? The league? Doesnt that alternate also? And the last Sunday of the month can be dedicated to UC, thats the only time there could be confusion. The Live Oak mini on Saturday is dubs. I want singles.

And do you see how much Brian helps and is willing to help. Come on guys, lets come together and get the Sundays back on track.

The charity will be the EDGE - Educational Disc Golf Experience. This will directly benefit Live Oak area schools.

As for as who is going to step up and take over the mini's, we need to get organized as a TOTAL alliance, or nothing is going to happen and be uniformed. We need to meet and put this down on paper as L.O.D.G.A. and bring all of the mini's, tournaments, and leagues underneath one umbrella. You can still keep them seperate, but having a common unity will help us grow as a unit and this way we can be a bigger influence on the community and possibly in the schools. We either need to invite people like Vinnie, Gordon, or Kruse down to give us information in starting the organization or go and see how they have been successful with what they are doing. We need to lean on Brian not have him carry us. Get his insight on what to do and have him as the mentor for what needs to be done. But until WE ALL step up and do it then it won't happen and having too many chief's and not enough braves will cause us disaster in the future. I cannot do a Sunday thing because of family committments but there are people who can and just as there are people who maynot be able to do a Saturday thing, I can step up, but we need to organize and plan.

This will not happen overnight, it will be a lengthy process, but it needs to happen.

By the way, I will be spending a day or two at my girls' elementary school this next spring to do a lesson on disc golf. The PE teacher there bought several baskets last year and did a two week unit for the kids. Don't tell me that I am not stoked and waiting for this to happen. I even have a guy with the SA Parks and Recreation wanting to know how it goes and is maybe wanting to put a nine hole course in near the school in one of the new parks. It is a slow process, but we are working on it.

Okay, my two cents worth, maybe more, and since I don't post much, my fingers are tired, so I am out-of here for now.

We will meet at hole #28. CTP will start at approx. 9:00.

Paul I am not sure I have those exact discs but you will be paid for the QJ for sure. Give me some ideas on what else you throw so I can get those out also.

Live Oak is still trying to establish itself as a disc golf group, we all know that a club is what we need but lets learn how to crawl before we try to walk. If we cant come together to run a mini I think we might have a problem getting a club started. We dont want too many indians and no chiefs either. So far we have three people out of how many players step up? There were 25+ people at the Sunday minis but only three have offered to help. How can you start a club like that? I am not scolding anyone or trying to make anyone feel bad but until we have a majority with the same vision for Live Oak disc golf, we will still be in "other clubs".

TALKING is a good start and Gator try this at the next mini. OUTLOUD annouce your self helping with the mini and make sure some of the regulars hear you and get the idea. Then at the end of the mini someone needs to make sure someone else or atleast someone helps the last person will be there to run it next week.

You guys are never going to believe what happened at the LIVE OAK course today. Wayne "the Technician" Atkinson and Shawn "Grave Digger" Low were playing a casual round when they got to hole 27. Shawn throws his favorite Firebird, it skips off the ground, and crashes into the basket! Not to be out-done Wayne pulls out his Monster and says" I guess I'll just put this one on top of yours", then proceeds to follow the same line skipping his off the ground and acing too!!!!! I've never heard of such a thing happening ever! Does anyone know how to figure the odds?

P.S. They only shot even. :D

On another side note: Shawn, Wayne, Matt, and myself all plan to be there for Red Rock (mini or no mini). The weather is supposed to be amazing. After lunch we can all do whatever we want. I may even join in and have some fun.

Whats up with the board? I clicked on the last post, just like always, but it took me to page 68, when this post will be on page 57 or 58...I have seen a page or maybe two that are blank, but 10 blank pages? wtf??

Hopefully the message board problem will be fixed today but here is an update on Sunday.

Things are going well. I have heard from a bunch of people in Austin that are going to spend the day in Live Oak. The weather is going to be great so I hope we have a great turnout.

We will likey play Holes 10 through 28 to make up 18 holes. We may do 21 holes just for the fun of it. I will decide on the morning.

I have had a few requests from the Pro's to increase the entry to $20 to make the payout bigger. I will leave that up to you guys when you all get there. It would have to be a decision everyone agrees on.

Please no more requests for the US Flag Super Color Challengers. They are all sold. I am likely to get more in the new year so don't panic.

I have lots of good plastic, clothing and stuff for everyone at great prices. It's funny I have even had requests from as far away as New York and Arizona wanting to buy stock in quantity. I told them that priority will go to the players that turn up on Sunday :)

I will be back in my San Marcos office late tonight. I have to watch the "Apprentice". I think I will sue Donald Trump for not allowing "non Americans" to apply. Do you think I would win?

Back to working on things for next year. I hope to have some news both good and bad before the new year.

I wonder if this is possible? I donate $100 to buy burgers, hot dogs, buns, chips etc if someone could bring a barbecue to cook it. I would leave the buying and cooking up to say Van Halen and I will pay for it. Let me know.

There are bbq pits across the road between the bball court and vball courts under shade. They are about a 30 foot walk from #28. I will confirm this later on.

Lance, that is probably a good idea. Just send the money for the tournament and that way you can save gas and food money. Jim watch out my short game is improving and I'm driving further every day as well. I birdied a couple of 400' holes this past week. But then got fours on some 250' holes so for now it's a wash. Next time we play I'll slow down. I may come up the first weekend in January. I'll keep you posted.

If we can't have a little fun with each other once in a while, then some of us have a deeper problem. It is all in fun and yes some of us get carried away sometimes when there fingers work faster than there mind (which isn't difficult when some of our minds are pretty slow nowadays) and they don't know when to quit. We get the job done and we still have some fun with each other. We have no problems, only Dave.
Sorry Dave, had to throw that in there. So consider the source of the statements that show up and give it right back or ignore it which is sometimes the most effective thing to do. Hope every one has a very Merry Christmas and a great and prosperous New Year.

We had a blast and enjoyed a beautiful Saturday at the park. It was just Laura and I but we played a full 18 holes. We will not be having a ladies day on Saturday Dec 25 or January 1. We will resume the ladies day on Saturday January 8th at 12:30. Dont forget the many new things to come this year. We met with the City of Live Oak and decided that hole 17 will be the site of the LOLO area. We will have benches and a relaxed atmosphere. The city is going to step up and start to clear it out for us, they also have a huge log that they will make a bench out of it for the LOLO's. This is a great thing and we appreciate it. Hope to see you ladies out there soon. We have had a couple disc golf clubs ask us about how to get more women to the sport. This is a huge complement to the LOLO's and hopefully more women will play because of what we have here in Live Oak.
