2018 Top Tier Tour Schedule Released; 2018 A-Tier Applications Now Accepted
The 2018 Top Tier Tour Schedule has been posted. The schedule includes 11 PDGA Major events, 6 National Tour Elite Series events, 10 Disc Golf Pro Tour events, and 3 Disc Golf World Tour events, along with several other notable events for reference.
We are now accepting applications for 2018 A-Tiers. The last day to submit an A-Tier request is Friday, October 13th, 2017.
If at all possible, our goal is to have the A-Tier schedule set and released by November 1st, 2017 to maintain the month earlier posting date we’ve enjoyed the last two years over the past traditional date of December 1st.
Please note that you MUST provide at least three possible dates within your request in order to allow us a chance to create a schedule that works for everyone without conflicts. We no longer have the luxury of a single date choice or a “historical” date. Due to the growth of the tour (3500+? events in 2017), we all need to be flexible for the benefit of other TDs and the players.
Note: If you don’t provide at least three possible dates, you will very likely NOT be scheduled as an A-Tier and will have to run as a B-Tier in 2018.
Please also note that considering the number of events on the schedule, we will need to continue to limit the number of A-Tiers to a sensible number to prevent them from clogging the schedule. We will likely be looking for no more than a hundred (100) A-Tiers in the US, so not all events requesting A-Tier status will receive it, and only select high-profile successful multi-year B-Tiers will be considered for upgrading to A-Tier status.
Please be sure to submit your A-Tier Request application by Friday, October 13th, 2017.
