2026 Major

2026 Major

Let the battles begin.

Action kicked off Thursday at the 2026 PDGA Tim Selinske U.S. Masters Championships presented by Innova and the stage is set for an epic weekend in Lake County, Florida.

Fourteen of the 26 divisions are separated by fewer than three throws after the opening round of action, which took place across four courses in the central Florida disc golf hotbed.

In the end, Finland reigned supreme at the 2026 PDGA Champions Cup presented by Vessi.

The very end.

The four-round PDGA Major at the New London Tech track in Lynchburg and Bedford County, Virginia was always going to be a test of skill and endurance, set up to come down to the wire.

That's exactly what happened on Sunday as Silva Saarinen and Niklas Anttila both emerged with one-shot victories in a sweep for Finland.

Saarinen overcame a four-shot deficit entering the final round and turned in a course-record finale for her second PDGA Major title.

The stage is set at the first PDGA Pro Major of 2026.

Henna Blomroos grew her lead and, for the first time in Virginia, Niklas Anttila isn't alone at the top of the leaderboard of the 2026 PDGA Champions Cup presented by Vessi.

18 holes to go at New London Tech in Lynchburg & Bedford County.

Blomroos limited the damage to just two bogeys in a 2-under round while Silva Saarinen, who entered three strokes back, had a six-birdie round hampered by two double bogies on Saturday. Blomroos' lead now sits at four.

We're at the halfway point of the 2026 PDGA Champions Cup presented by Vessi and nothing is settled.

Far from it.

Niklas Anttila held on to his spot atop the MPO leaderboard and Henna Blomroos emerged as the solo leader in FPO after Round 2 on Friday in Lynchburg and Bedford County, Virginia — keeping Finland in the driver's seat at the first PDGA Pro Major of 2026.

Finland owns the top of the leaderboards after Round 1 of the 2026 PDGA Champions Cup presented by Vessi.

Henna Blomroos and Silva Saarinen battled the bruising track at New London Tech in Bedford County, Virginia on Thursday to share a two-shot lead. Niklas Anttila tamed the 12,000-foot, wooded course more than anyone else in the field by far with a stellar 9-under opening round and a four-shot lead.

Blomroos did what is required at New London Tech: bounce right back. After a plus-2 start through the first four holes, she collected eight birdies in a clean finish the rest of the way.

The first PDGA Pro Major of 2026 will be earned.

For its fifth running, the PDGA Champions returns to the woods, and awaiting the best players in the world is four rounds at the grueling New London Tech track in Lynchburg and Bedford County, Virginia.

PDGA Major events are the premier competitions for disc golf each year, featuring the world’s best disc golfers competing for Major titles in multiple skill, age, and gender-based divisions. These PDGA marquee events offer any city or town the chance to host an international sporting event in their community, to draw interest and attention to the location, and to generate a significant economic impact for local businesses.

Hosting a PDGA Major is a challenging task, and interest was shown from several involved local organizing committees (LOC), meaning selecting these events was difficult, as so many excellent bid packages were submitted.

Proposals to host a prestigious PDGA Major — pinnacle events of the disc golf world — will be accepted from June 3 through October 1, 2024. This is a unique opportunity to showcase your expertise, your passion for the sport and your local area on a global stage.

The PDGA will be accepting bids for 2026 and 2027 at this time. If there are no viable bids for 2027, all bid submissions will be considered for 2026, and the bid documents for 2027 will be re-issued in 2025.
