Premier Events of Disc Golf
2026 and 2027 PDGA Major locations announced

PDGA Major events are the premier competitions for disc golf each year, featuring the world’s best disc golfers competing for Major titles in multiple skill, age, and gender-based divisions. These PDGA marquee events offer any city or town the chance to host an international sporting event in their community, to draw interest and attention to the location, and to generate a significant economic impact for local businesses.
Hosting a PDGA Major is a challenging task, and interest was shown from several involved local organizing committees (LOC), meaning selecting these events was difficult, as so many excellent bid packages were submitted.
After much deliberation from the PDGA Bid Committee, the Professional Disc Golf Association is pleased to announce the award of the following 2026 and 2027 PDGA Major events:
PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships
2026: Milford, Michigan, USA
In the summer of 2026, Pro Worlds is headed to the Great Disc State. The Professional Disc Golf World Championships will be hosted in Milford, MI at the beautiful Kensington Metropark.
The team from Ledgestone Disc Golf, Huron-Clinton Metroparks, Livingston County Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Detroit Sports Commission have been awarded the bid for 2026 Pro Worlds.
Tournament Director Nate Heinold (#49340) and the team at Ledgestone Disc Golf bring a wealth of experience in hosting elite level disc golf events. Building on the success of multiple previous Major and DGPT events in recent years, combined with the extremely active Michigan disc golf community, the 2026 Pro Worlds promises to deliver exceptional player and fan experiences alike.
The event will be competed at Kensington Metropark on a lengthened Black Locust South course and the world-famous Toboggan.
The current Black Locust South layout is currently 7,300 feet from the long tees. To lengthen the course and ensure that Black Locust provides the challenge necessary for the world’s best players, the event team has been working closely with Metropark staff to develop a new championship layout to be used for the 2026 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships. This new layout will measure over 10,000 feet and will be a world-class test for the competitors.
The course will feature lengthened versions of 13 holes on the current course and five newly-designed holes across the street near Martindale Beach. This championship layout will include very tight wooded holes, moderately wooded holes, two park golf/open holes, and a few holes that include both wooded and open portions.
The Kensington Metropark Toboggan Course is one of the most famous courses in the world, which currently hosts the United States Amateur Championship and has been home to the Discraft Great Lakes Open since 2013. With its legendary elevation changes and length of almost 11,000 feet from the long tees, Toboggan is a perfect venue for crowning our 2026 Pro World Champions.
2008 was the last time Michigan hosted a Professional World Championships and the PDGA is excited to return to the Wolverine State once again.
"Our team is incredibly excited to bring back the 2026 PDGA Pro Worlds event to Southeast Michigan. Its been 26 years since Toboggan last hosted Worlds, and the team in Southeast Michigan will be showcasing two world class courses at Kensington Metropark to the disc golf world in the Summer of 2026." — Nate Heinold
2027: Portland, Oregon, USA
In 2027, we will make our way out west to The Beaver State as Portland, Oregon will host the 2027 Professional World Championships.
The collaborative effort from the Disc Golf Pro Tour, Stumptown Disc Golf Club, Glendoveer Golf & Tennis, Oregon State Parks, Travel Portland, and Sport Oregon have been awarded the bid for 2027 Pro Worlds.
Event Director Jeff Spring (#43994) and co-TD’s Brian Cole (#46301) and Jesse Tomaino (#60819) are thrilled to bring Pro Worlds back to the Pacific Northwest for the first time since the thrilling playoff finish between Paul McBeth and Ricky Wysocki at 2014 Pro Worlds in Portland.
The event will be competed on the fabulous Riverbend Gold at Milo McIver and the daunting Glendoveer East course.
Located just outside Portland in nearby Estacada, the Riverbend Gold course at Milo McIver was first utilized at the 2023 Beaver State Fling and is a combination of the fan favorite Milo East and West courses of prior Beaver State Flings. Sitting in the shadow of Mt. Hood, the course is a mix of open and wooded holes winding through the towering fir trees along the banks of the serene Clackamas River. The par 65 MPO layout plays almost 11,000 feet in length, and the Par 69 FPO layout comes in around 9,500 feet. This course is sure to be a treat for both fans and players as the best in the world compete on this magnificent property.
Just east of the bustling Portland city center sits the property at Glendoveer Golf and Tennis. 2027 Pro Worlds will have its champions crowned on the Glendoveer East course from Portland Open fame. This gorgeous golf property in east Portland will try the players nerves with mix of tight lines off the tee and thoughtfully placed out of bounds to challenge both power and precision of players vying for the title of Professional World Champion.
"The Disc Golf Pro Tour and Stumptown Disc Golf are elated to join forces to showcase Portland area disc golf to the world in 2027. With a two-year run-up, we're well-positioned to build on our combined experience and execute an unparalleled event that leaves a lasting memory on fans, players, and the numerous stakeholders in Portland." — Jesse Tomaino
