There’s a four-way tie in FA50, a three-way tie in MP40 — with seven players just one stroke back — and 19 more divisions either tied or with the leader ahead by less than three strokes.
Nearly 900 players in 25 divisions kicked off Flagstaff’s first PDGA Major in nearly 20 years on Tuesday and the competition is tight as the marathon begins:
During the opening ceremonies for the 2023 PDGA Masters Disc Golf World Championships, those in attendance who competed in the 2003 PDGA Pro Worlds were asked to stand. The same request came for those who competed in the 2005 PDGA Amateur Worlds.
Throughout the overflowing room, countless stood when called upon, kicking off the return of a PDGA Major to Flagstaff, Arizona for the first time in nearly two decades.

Well done! You’ve been invited to register for the 2023 PDGA Masters Disc Golf World Championships! It took a lot of work to play enough tournaments and score enough points and here’s the payoff! Tournament dates are July 8-15, 2023, and we look forward to seeing you on our beautiful mountain courses in Flagstaff, Arizona. Flagstaff hosted the 2003 Pro Worlds and the 2005 Am Worlds and we are totally jazzed to bring the worlds back to town!
Invitees are subject to all eligibility requirements per Competition Manual 1.01, and nothing in this invitation shall be construed to create a right of the recipient to participate in this event.
Amateur Worlds, Junior Worlds, and both Masters Worlds invite lists have been modified for clarity concerning which division(s) an invitee may register for during which registration tier. During a ratings-based registration tier, invitees may only register for those divisions for which they were invited to that tier based on their player rating. If an invitee has multiple registration tier invites, they will now appear twice on the invite list shown in Red Text.
Please note that masters worlds has two separate documents: one for professional, one for amateur.
