The Illinois Open Series Team invites you to the Sinnissippi Open this weekend. The local player base has done a fantastic job getting the course ready and it's looking fantastic. The former temporary holes are now permanent as the course has been expanded to 24 holes.
You will get a chance to play two of the most unique holes in Illinois which include hole #5 the "island" hole and hole #23 the "cliff shot".
The PDGA National Tour Elite Series presented by Vibram Disc Golf has provided some great disc golf over the last six weeks with events on every other weekend.

Saturday was moving day at the Beaver State Fling, presented by Keen Footwear, in Estacada, Oregon and there certainly was a fair amount of movement by many of the world’s top professional disc golfers in an attempt to put them in position for a run at the title in Sunday’s final round.
The Beaver State Fling, presented by Keen Footwear, teed off today under beautiful skies on the twin Riverbend courses at Milo McIver State Park in Estacada, Oregon.
More than 1,100 competitors from 13 countries will attend the 2012 Professional Disc Golf Association Professional and Amateur World Championships July 14-21 in Charlotte.
A portion of proceeds from the tournament will benefit the American Red Cross.
"We chose the American Red Cross because this tournament is drawing people from around the world,” said Sam Nicholson, tournament director. “The Red Cross is a global organization, and we support its mission to help people in time of need no matter if they are here in the United States or overseas."

FORT MADISON, IA — The Fort Madison Tourism Commission is trying to diversify its efforts to spur tourism. Not only is the group pushing fishing tournaments, rodeos and hot air balloons, it has decided to throw a little money at disc golf.
The tourism commission made a $2,000 grant to the Old Fort Open Disc Golf Tournament.
“This is unprecedented,” said John Shaw, tournament director. “In the past, we have received $200 (from the city), but never this much.”
