Nothing Like That WGE Feeling
2026 Women's Global Event Recap

The eighth iteration of the PDGA’s Women’s Global Event (WGE) wrapped up this past Monday and the results are in! You can catch up on the full standings on the 2026 WGE global leaderboard. Since 2012, the biennial WGE has enabled women and girls from all over the world to participate in one unifying event. This year we extended the global event from three days to 11 days (May 15 - 25), extending the fun for another full week!
What's stood out the most is that WGE feeling. Over the week and a half of the WGE, it’s been inspiring to see all of the social media shares that show a lot of love, connection, and support from people all over the world. And it perfectly reflects what happens in the local WGE tournaments. It's hard to explain the way WGE feels different than everything else. It is really, really special.
And while it's sad it’s over, what we really hope is that the spirit of the WGE can keep folks motivated to continue celebrating, connecting, and making women and girls in disc golf a priority. Thank you to the Tournament Directors who have made the 2026 Women's Global Event possible. The success of the WGE and keeping the momentum going is due to the support of all of the tournament directors who are enthusiastic about supporting women’s disc golf. Without TDs around the world hosting events, there would be no WGE, so thank you and everyone out there who has supported their local WGE.
To help celebrate and add a unifying piece to each player pack of the 2026 WGE, we shipped over 4,000 2026 WGE themed pins around the world. A huge thanks to Trash Panda for their support this year as our title sponsor, which helped cover some of the cost of the pins and the shipping. Didn't get your pin? Want an extra pin? Lost your pin? We have some pins in the PDGA Pro Shop for you to order! Be sure to remember to use your member benefit of 20% off in the pro shop!
The Stories
After the first weekend, we shared a photo of Noemi Bjerkaas and her caddie (our executive Director Doug Bjerkaas) and asked folks to share their own experiences so far.

We were tagged in and saw so many posts and stories throughout the WGE.
This one really captures the essence of that night before the event for every TD:
We even posted our own videos (our Marketing Director went to his local event and captured photos and videos in the pouring down rain).
We posted again asking folks to share their favorite photo from this year's WGE and then again asking how everyone's 2026 WGE experience was. We thought we'd get a few photos to use but the responses were overwhelming! We want to share all of them, but you can see the responses on the posts. Here's a few favorites:

Their numbers are included in some of the information below (designated with a * until final results from their event come in). We hope that they stay healthy and keep up the great work they are doing there. Follow the great things going on in Uganda on the Uganda Disc Golf Facebook page.

It's over but it's not over.
Now that the 2026 WGE has wrapped up, we'll be reaching out to our first, second, and third place finishers around the world to verify your address and send you your trophy. We are also doing a drawing for all players and TDs to win one of 8 Zuca carts (Thank you Zuca for your generous donation)! Zuca is also offering an 18% discount to all WGE participants. Your TD should have gotten that code to you but if they forgot, we'll send it to you too along with a survey about how the WGE went for you. Was there something you think could make the next WGE even better? We'll ask from both the player and TD perspective. Keep an eye out for that soon.
We want to keep this WGE feeling going all the time, so we'd love to hear your ideas of how to do that!
