She tees off, with no other female at her course — or even state — competing in her division. Sometimes, it just happens, no other females signed up to play the tournament.

But today, hundreds of miles away, one of her competitors is putting out on hole 18. Another competitor in her division, in Germany, finished their round hours ago. An Australian competitor has already gone to bed after playing earlier in the day.

Since 2012, the PDGA’s Women’s Global Event (WGE) has allowed women from all over the world to participate in one unifying event. It gives women and girls the chance to compete with their peers, ones that share the same love of the game, no matter the distance between them. It reminds us that we are not alone.

If you want to participate, it’s easy: just go to PDGA.com/women and click on the “Find a 2022 Women’s Global Event” button. Here you can find all the events that are registered as WGE events.
