Top clubs awarded for involvement in Target Incentive Program

Tuesday, October 21, 2025 - 13:57

Disc golf helps communities thrive. It's the grassroots clubs—the volunteers, the organizers, and the players—who have become a quiet force for good. In the vacant corners of public parks once left to overgrowth and neglect, they haven’t just built courses; these disc golf Clubs have helped shape their communities. They have planted native trees, revitalized forgotten trails, and created spaces that were not only for them, but for everyone. They’ve held charity tournaments to fight hunger, partnered with local businesses to boost the economy, and developed youth programs to teach kids skills that extend far beyond the course.

So, while the casual observer might just see a simple game, the residents of these towns see something more. They see a park brought back to life. They see kids with a healthy after-school activity. They see the tangible result of a group of people who believed in their sport and, in doing so, chose to invest in their community. The PDGA Clubs program aims to support and reward local Clubs for their efforts, and wants to assist in “growing the base” so we not only have more people to assist in these worthy endeavors, but we also grow the number of people playing disc golf in a particular region. Hence, the development of the Target Incentive Program.

Concept

Beginning in July 2025, the PDGA Clubs program ran a contest to see which PDGA Clubs could bring in the most new and returning PDGA members, per capita (based on the size of the Club). The winners are set to receive ten (10) championship-caliber targets to be used in the installation or upgrade of a 9-hole course in their area, thanks to DiscStore.com! Second and Third place in each category are to receive a package from Paragon and Happy With Par, respectively. Check out the PDGA Clubs page for more on the PDGA Clubs Target Incentive Program.

Reporting Process

Club size was reported at time of PDGA Club registration. We used the number of coupon code uses from participating Clubs to determine the percentage at which that Club grew and/or supported PDGA membership in 2025, from October 1, 2024 through September 30, 2025.

And the Winners Are...

These baskets will help us bring new life to Oak View Park Disc Golf Course in Beaumont and give the community a quality course to be proud of. With this boost, we’re excited to work with the city to restore and grow disc golf opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels.”

Champaign County DGC won 2nd place in the “renewing” category.

Chris Young, Disc Golf Vermont President, says “Disc Golf Vermont now has 516 members, many of which are PDGA members. The DGVTour is a series of 12 PDGA sanctioned events around the state of Vermont from April until October. Getting $5 off their PDGA membership each year is one of many benefits to joining Disc Golf Vermont every year that our members take advantage of. We are proud to partner with the PDGA and to be a part of the TIP program and continue to bring in new players and new members of both Disc Golf Vermont and the PDGA.”

The PDGA Clubs program extends into Canada as well, and we saw some tremendous Club activity from the Edmonton community. Club president, Brock Ciochetti, said “Edmonton Disc Golf Association is a year-round club that takes pride in embracing our different seasons to enjoy this great sport. Our mission statement is to be engaging, inclusive, and be ambassadors, and we are constantly working towards that by holding events for every skill level and demographic to enjoy. If you're ever up in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada at the end of June, look at joining us for the River City Cup, which is running for the 29th year in 2026. We'd like to thank PDGA, DiscStore, Paragon, and Happy with Par for their support as the prizes will go towards making next year's events even better.”
