Handley’s Hot Round Sets Up Sunday Showdown with Tattar

2024 Jonesboro Open - Day 2 FPO Recap

Saturday, April 13, 2024 - 16:31

Holyn Handley bounced back from a lackluster opener, improving eight strokes during Saturday’s Round 2 to match the Kristin Tattar’s hot round of the tournament at 10-under.

At one point, Handley went on a tournament-best streak of 7 birdies in a row and could have had even more had her putter not cooled on the back nine.

Currently ranked 6th in the Official Disc Golf World Rankings, Handley has been knocking on the door at Elite Series and Major tournaments with eight podium finishes to her credit over the past three seasons.

Tattar at the Top

While Handley charged, however, Tattar stayed put.

The World #1 picked up right where she left off in round 1, connecting for a C2 putt on Hole 3’s elevated basket to pick up her first birdie of nine birdies against only a single bogey.

That lone blemish came on Hole 11, when Tattar’s drive turned over into the right side rough and just missing a 30-foot putt to save par.

Despite losing two strokes to Handley on Saturday, Tattar finds herself heading out of moving day in the same place she started – six strokes clear of the field and in total command.

Final Round FPO Lead Card Tees off Sunday at 9:55 C.T. with Live coverage only on the Disc Golf Network.
