As many of you may know, the National Amateur Disc Golf Tour’s (NADGT) championships each year has awarded one male and one female player the chance to compete on the Disc Golf Pro Tour (DGPT). From Kyle Klein, Zach Nash and Lucas Carmichael to Missy Gannon, Cadence Burge and Eliezra Midtlyng.
The NADGT has decided that spreading the prizes out and giving more players the pro-experience, is better for the growth of all players looking to become pro-level competitors. The NADGT also recognized that most of its winners are still in high school, and giving them the opportunity to see what they could do, is more important than asking them to drop out of high school to chase their disc golf dreams.
Prizes this year include, a paid trip and invite to the 2026 USDGC, (3) partial DGPT tour cards, guaranteed invitations/entries into the 2026 PDGA Professional World Championships, 2026 PDGA Masters World Championships, 2026 PDGA Junior World Championships, and the 2026 Tim Selinske US Masters. There are also opportunities for players who finish out of the top three spots to earn paid entries into the DGPT Q-School finale. Which gives them more chances to earn their way into the DGPT in 2026.
The NADGT is hosting its fifth national championships, the 2025 North American Disc Golf Championships (NADGC) with events happening from October 26th - November 1st. This event attracts players from all fifty states, Canada, Europe, and more. Currently over 600 players are competing and registration for invited players stays open until October 24, 2025.

This event is built for all amateur skill levels. It is a four-day, tee-time format, event where players will play for the title of North American Amateur Disc Golf champion, as well as many unique prizes. But the competition is just part of the fun of attending this event in Austin, Texas. Besides all of the amazing amenities Austin can provide to players and their families, the NADGT will be hosting numerous fun events & activities that will keep any player and their family busy from morning till night.
During the week, there is the Tjing Side Event series, a daily C-Tier Flex-Start on different courses and featuring different disc sponsors each day. If you play in three of the six events, you can qualify for the overall series points and could win cool wrestling-style trophies, as well as getting custom stamped discs from manufacturers that support the events.
There's also a distance contest, putting contest, a speed contest, a disc golf simulation contest, glow golf & mini-golf at the Flying Armadillo, hot-stamping party at Mint Discs, and a special doubles tournament called "Lone Wolf". In Lone Wolf each card has a solo-player (the lone wolf) who gets a variety of DGPT Pros as their partner as they progress through the round. After sunset, they have a top-golf style glow-in-the-dark distance/accuracy showcase where DGPT pros throw over a professional ball golf driving range with lit targets along the way. Everyone enjoys seeing glow-discs ripping through the night sky at 80MPH.
This year they'll also have a disc-golf-simulator contest/demonstration on Friday at Austin Beerworks, featuring Gameproofer Smart Tags coming from Finland, and Link Disc Golf introducing their gaming software. Gannon Buhr and Missy Gannon playing against two amateurs on a full-size audio screen, with commentary by Jay Reading and other guest stars. You'll be able to sit and enjoy food and spirits while watching a disc golf round on the big-screen. They’re including the Gameproofer Smart Tag and the Link Disc Golf game subscription as part of the player pack, the players will be able to take this tech home and enjoy competing with players from around the world!
If you’re interested in attending as a spectator or vendor, please feel free to reach out to NADGT at [email protected].
