Disc Golfers! Sawatdee krap! Go aisatsu! Pagbati! Wènhòu! (Greetings in Thai, Japanese, Filipino & Mandarin!)

The PDGA is pleased to announce the inaugural Asia Tour Series. The 2026 PDGA Asia Tour will feature seven B and C-Tier events across five countries and regions over a 10-week period from early January through mid-March. This tour has been created to celebrate the Asian disc golf community and its emergence as a leading growth area and Tour-ist destination for our sport. It aims to attract players from across eastern Asia and around the world to meet, compete, unite and celebrate!

The tour will debut with the long-standing Asia Open in Chinese Taipei before heading to the vacation paradise that is Thailand for 3 events – in vibrant, cosmopolitan Bangkok, on kick-back Koh Samui Island, and in the temple strewn northern city of Chiang Mai. After a short break, the tour will shift to the Philippines, then to the southernmost Japanese Island of Okinawa, before climaxing with the Tour Championship in the megacity that is Shanghai, China. As such it will present players with the opportunity to experience some of the regions best courses and events, all while sampling an array of different cultures, culinary delights, temples and other stunning historical sites.

The tour will offer divisions catering to all players: Professionals and Amateurs; Men, Women and Youth; Veterans who have played for decades, and newer players who have just recently fallen in love with the game. Here are more details on what players can expect:

  1. Each tournament will offer all of the following divisions: MPO, FPO, MP40, FP40, MP50, FP50, MA1, FA1, MA2, FA2, MA40, FA40, MA50, FA50, MA60, FA60, MA3, MA4, MJ15.
  2. Most events will offer a “Long” and “Short” layout. Although these layouts will be course specific, in general, long layouts will be for divisions where most players can consistently throw over 90 meters.
  3. Players may compete in as many tour events as they wish, but only their top 4 finishes will be counted towards their final tour points. Players must compete in a minimum of 2 tournaments in order to qualify for tour standings. Any player that participates in all 7 tour events will receive a special award (TBA). Points Allocation: 1st Place = 100 Points, 2nd Place = 90 Points, 3rd Place = 85 Points, 4th Place = 80 Points, 5th Place = 75 points…all the way down to 5 points for 19th Place.
  4. All PDGA Asia Tour competitors must be current 2026 PDGA members before they can register in events. As of October 1, 2025, players can renew their membership or join the PDGA as a new member, for the 2026 season, at www.pdga.com/membership .

What Else to Expect

A series of well-run B and C-Tier level events with various local amenities and touches. Significant tour sponsorship from the PDGA and its International Program. Title and supporting sponsorships are currently being negotiated with leading disc golf stakeholders within the Asia region and beyond. Post-production video coverage by Terry Miller. Event photography and blog stories by Kingsley Flett. Beautiful, individual event poster images by Pete Anderson.

A celebration of the sport aimed at strengthening relations across this vast and diverse region that will trigger future growth and follow such traditions as the Japan Open, the previous informal Southeast Asia Tour, and the inclusion and exposure of disc golf to millions of Asians at the 2025 International World Games in Chengdu, China

In short, an initial and experimental undertaking that will be assessed on the basis of the overall effort and investment required, and the regional collaboration and success it achieves. These findings will then be taken into account in planning for future PDGA Asia Tour editions.

Please visit the PDGA Asia Facebook page for more information and to send any questions to the Tour organizers.

We look forward to seeing you in disc golf paradise in 2026!

Khàwp-khun!. Domo arigato! Maraming salamat! Xie xie! (Thanks everyone!)
