Great course! With long and short tee pads (all concrete too) this course can be played by vets of the sport or by beginners. Great signage with clear directions on mandos and OB. Great utilization of water, elevation, and trees. There is one area of the course (holes 8, 9, and sometimes 13) that tends to flood from time to time and makes it almost unplayable however with long and short tees on all the holes you can make them up on another hole. The grass is mowed regularly and the course is well maintained in general. I would give this a 3 1/2 if I could but it doesn't deserve just a 3 either. It is a solid course and a lot of fun but it does lack some flow. With the wide open layout, even if you shank your drive, an OK up shot will save par for you so its not a very punishing course on most holes. I've heard that the city is trying to acquire more of the land and expand the course some. This area could easily fit another course or even two if done correctly. Overall, solid course, great for beginners and fun for vets. Great change of pace from Fox River Park DGC about 11 miles away.
