So Nice Play it Twice

worth the drive from Austin.

i played when it had not rained in a month. i could see the challenge be much more with water in all the creek.

great use of the unique trees and landscape of the park.
Mostly finesse, with some rips, some rolls.
looks like they are adding alternate pins and cleaning up nicely.

course played quick . so bring lunch and play again.

This was a surprisingly and unexpectedly nice, fun, and challenging little course. Of course, I shouldn't have expected anything less from a John Houck-designed course.

Lots of shot variety, even for the shorter holes. Three legitimate Par 4 holes, and though the other holes are all rather short accuracy and control are paramount to a good score.

My only complaint, is that in order to play hole 8 and 9 long, you have to walk way around the creek - all the way back out to 2nd St. - if there is much water in the creek. Which there was when I played yesterday. The tee box for 8 is only about 50 yards from #7's basket, but on the other side of the creek, with no way to cross without walking about 400 yards around the creek.

Needed a mowing, but was still very playable.

Very fun, well-maintained course that makes the most out of the space available. Left me wishing there was a back 9. From the parking lot it doesn't look special but there are many details that make it memorable from the giant tree growing sideways near basket #1 to the throw across the creek next to the railroad bridge on hole #6.

Great Signage, Concrete tee boxes. 6 holes have 2 tee boxes. Well groomed most of the time. Some water on some holes but not too much of a problem.
